How much info do you want ? Basically wind is the answer. Snow can fall out of the sky at most about 2" and hour, short bursts of 3" but wind can move 2ft in an hour. If it's dumping into a trap and forming convex you got serious problems. Scotland has lots of slides and actually gets kind of rowdy. A dude on TGR used to post TR's, equivalent I would say to about Tuxs. Norther Cairngorms is generally the worst area for slides. - Scots avy forecast - http://www.sais.gov.uk/northern-cairngorms/ Slides in Scotland are wind slab over week layer, in wind events damaged crystals get slammed into lee areas and can form a hard slab. Hard slabs are generally the worst types of avy's. Cham is moderate a 3 on there scale, Swiss is moderate. Generally they have major avy's because they have major terrain with pretty big snows. Beyond that it's hard to generalize over such a large area. Eurp saw big snowfalls followed by really cold air, the cold air introduces instabilities. No biggy until you get a warm up which starts to round the crystals and "fix" the instabilities. Cats are antsy in the pantsy to get out and ski, non-north facing aspects the pack has warmed up and the crystals are rounds, North/NE facing aspects however are obviously colder the instabilities still exist and thus you get peeps in trouble and all they've done is a slight change in aspect. Beyond that I would need to know what specific place your talking about.

Excellent news dude, the no surgery on the talus is major. You'll crush the PT and be back in business in no time, compared to your last year and half this is a walk in the park. Heady ? hmmmmm you like barley wines ? I got an 03 DFH olde school I'd trade for a 4 pack of heady. What about sours ? Got a 2nd batch RR Temptation.......LOL have fun dude and come back next year strong.

Take the CR traverse all the way out......titty sparkles......watch out for the cliff though...lol
-
hahaha I knew it you gotta drop 20ft out of the air and land directly on your heels to blow a talus skiing.....Cross fit is a bitch. Seriously though heal up brother, blue just aint the same without you. Ligaments should be no big deal, they are pretty standard and even grade 3 is mostly no surgery. Talus is a bitch, it's mostly covered with cartilage so it heals slowly (8-12 weeks). Hows your break ? If the pieces are mostly together and the surfaces are aligned you may get away without surgery, if not you generally get ORIF. Shit sucks but crush that fucking PT, foot injuries and particularly a talus stick around and not in a good way if have bad luck or don't murder that pt. Hopefully we ski until May and you'll be almost back to normal by then.

Sometimes when your in the magic hour of light, when the snow is good like western good you forget for a second and just fucking look with your eyes and just for that second Blue is legit again...........unfortunately if you've stopped to have a moment odds are some fuck head in rental gear is gonna clip you at the knees but just for a second...........

Yo I own like 1/29000000th of the that hill so feel free to tell everyone you know an owner. LOL Sad I can't do this weekend I was trying to find a way up there but kid shit got in the way. Go in the fucking woods, if you stop reading after this line that's cool but ride as many wood shots as possible. Skis are meant to be ridden that's why god invented ptex string and base repair tools. Peep the ski chair out front for Nils (OG TGR dude who passed from cancer) Wait until you see a shit ton of FKS and ask for change for a nickel (at least 50% of magic visitors are mags) go with them to the goods. Ride Gonif and the Wardrobe. Slay the fucking gnar on red lift line, definitely throw in some sick grabs on the little drops and make sure to yell to the peeps riding the lift...probably some game of GNAR shit. If your feeling rowdy, when disembarking from the red chair on your left you'll see two cut paths through the woods. The lower path is Whiteout IIRC, the other is a magical path to Timberridge. Follow for about a half mile and you'll come to a 4way intersection of sorts. Left path goes back to Magic on Up Your Sleeve. The path in front but at an angle goes skier's left of timberridge but eventually meets up at the bottom with the far right path that essentially follows the old t bar line. Obviously your going to half to hike or skin back out but if it snows.......... There used to be a super hot chick that ran the caf there but I'm pretty sure she went back to Argentina or something. Black line I like the flatbread pizza, Saturday may be the Vday dance too. Magic is the path less traveled, it's what skiing actually really is. You give them money and you slide down the hill, everything else outside of beer is pretty much not happening. It's the little tiny bit of soul left in a sport that has mostly sold out to become a real estate scam. It's VT before the $$$, before Intrawest blew up Stratton with a wally world version of Yurp village, before AIG used ballout money to construct that monstrosity at Spruce, before Canadians fucked up Jay. They actually care if you spend your money there, your still a person at Magic. Revel in it, embrace it's little bit of weirdness, the Vails of this world continue to push these types of players out so they can turn skiing into a just another business with P/L reports and Present Value calculations.
