Props to the locals for telling us out-of-towers about were the best goods were on the powder day. Every piece of advice they gave was spot on. I wouldn't blame them for not wanting to give away the best spots to tourists, but they were nice as hell. also, Aspen has a great ski town vibe and not stuck up at all in my opinion

Another great aspect was how jovial all the people were. It was a joyous occasion for all. you could tell all the big dogs came out to ski/ride yesterday

I don't know if it affects you, but check to see if I-70 is reopened after rock slide. People in Aspen driving to Denver today were told to detour up to steamboat and back...sounds awful

Day 5: snowmass Greatest day of snowboarding in my life. I've dreamed about this day for years. A foot fell overnight and it is still dumping. Between that and the 11 inches the day before, everything is in play.

About 10-15 mins after I posted this, a family came in with a baby who I guess was 8-12 months old. The baby sat next to her and you could tell he appreciated them like I did. Pretty soon she covered up...I don't know if this was cause of me looking, the baby looking, or the dirty looks from the baby's parents

Each mountain has its own vibe which is cool. Aspen is a great ski town!
