  1. Rattler comes out at the bottom of the second (and largest) headwall on Cannonball. I agree,. One of my favorite runs. My other favorite run at Montage is starting off the top off the Phoebe lift and heading over to Lower Runaway, but then cutting over to Lower Fast track in the middle of the last headwall... Turns out to be a nice long 'groomer' cruise.
  2. At least for Brighton, the downside of the bus right now is there is not access into the locker room. It appeared you could check bags, but that would annoy me as I'd prefer to bring food/drinks with me right now versus using the lodge. But as other's said the bus is convenient and runs quite often when I used it in previous years during snowstorm. My VW Tiguan went up and down the canyon in about 5inches this year without problem. Just take your time and it is not bad if you know how to drive in snow.
  3. Their grooming and snow was always better than any other poconos mountain(Elk not included because it is in VT)...,, this kept me alternating season passes between JFBB and Montage even though I lived 10 minutes from Montage/Sno.
  4. We never were required, but strongly encouraged as there are certain accreditations tracking the percentage of employees that get flu shot. I think the accreditations are currently giving to year x to get to a x percentage.
  5. Now I've never had a Flu Shot before, so this is likely typical, but I will say that the shoulder I received the shot in was very sore last night. Sore enough where I could not sleep on that side.. otherwise feel fine here
  6. Me too,, are you getting the Pfizer or the Moderna? Moderna for me..
  7. Thanks everyone for the comments on the buddy pass.. I will be up on Saturday by myself but had a friend looking to go on Sunday. I will look in my account and see .
  8. Hey,. Any idea if using the buddy pass requires the a reservation?
  9. This year I did not do all too well on airline miles as I drove more than flying this year and I also tend to fly direct. Though, I killed it on hotel points. IMO it is all about being reaching high reward status, not credit card usage. Several companies like Marriot and United allow you to transfer points back and forth if you reach a certain status level..... And it helps to have a job that requires a lot of travel!! In my case, we use Marriot is our corporate hotel partner for work travel. I stayed in hotels for 61 days this year.. plus we get an additional 15 days for being corporate partners and my main credit card is a Marriot card so I get another 15 days. Once you reach the second highest reward tier you receive a 75% bonus on all points earned for each stay. I earned upward of 200,000 points this year and an 8 stay at a residence inn in SLC is 140,000.
  10. Do it! ... I leave for SLC on Thursday night and returning the following Friday.. Will be spending my time at Brighton. I will look to head back out the beginning at April for a second week to get my money worth for the weekday season pass. Luckily this trip(hotel/car) is paid for by points from work travel
  11. I would say Pittsburgh is one of my favorite cities. i think their skyline is one of the prettiest views, especially as you come out of the tunnel from the airport. Yes, maybe there is not a ton of nightlife right downtown. However, there are some nice spots downtown as they've added several nice new breweries. Most of the the nightlife would be either on the North Shore(by the stadiums) or the South Side. On the NorthShore you get a little more of the modern larger spots, but on the South Side you get an entire Street filled with 'local' Bar after Bar. Personally my favorite is to hit up the Hofbrahaus a little further outside of town on the South Side. (The other nice little tidbit is the the T (rail service) is free for the downtown stops, basically between the Arena and the Stadiums)
  12. Hopefully Im there is 3 months.... but chances of legitimately being able to make the trip seems slimmer as the days go by. I guess a lot will depend on how the reservation or capacity limits work. I've already flown a few places for work over the last few months and as long as Im willing to avoid certain areas/places due to crowding I feel safe. There were a few places in KC that I wanted to eat but I showed up and quickly went somewhere us due to crowds. (luckily Delta is still stating that they will keep the middle seats empty until 2021.. from what i've seen/heard the airlines have not been so kind/careful)
  13. Maybe.. I guess I always think ‘don’t make your employees do something I won’t do myself’... who knows? Unique times and we are all learning and adjusting
  14. I will add .. it is fun to hear calls from outside my area where the manager stops the call to adjust their position on their deck because the sun is too bright I'm sure this goes over pretty with the on site staff 😁
  15. I think my point was somewhat missed. If you manage a team and some of your staff has to stay on site for regulatory reasons,, don't you feel the management should have to be there too? I'm all for people having the ability to work from home, but management should not get special treatment in the situation... And set the example
  16. Very interesting topic on the WFH... and very timely. I manage a Production Facility, so I've been in the building everyday, but the Call Center part of the business has predominately sent everyone home. The management team for the Call Center rotate through every few weeks to be in the building and manage their small remaining onsite teams. it can get frustrating seeing everyone else working from home, I feel management should set the example and be in the building and note most did not start 'WFH' until the weather got nice.. ??? Personally I'm struggling because I recently gained oversight of 4 other facilities across the country and I feel I can still get too caught up with issues in my 'Home' site. However, I feel I would be a hypocrite if I start working from home a day a week to focus on giving attention to my other sites.... Covid-problems I will add that I personally am glad that I had the ability to go to work during the major lock-down as my life during the week did not change much.. we've only had 4 positive tests in the building but nothing passed inside the facility...
  17. I agree, such a fun place,, and the fact that most all of the lifts are top to bottom.
  18. I'm hoping for 8-10 days in total between the two trips.. and I always plan around avoiding the weekends. I've not been to Snowbird, but was on my list two years ago but did not make it.
  19. Well... I'm taking a chance/hedging my bet. I plan on making two trips out to Utah this year with one being in early December and a second in March/April. I'm somewhat worried about getting out there and having restrictions on how many people are allowed on the mountain each day. I figured there will have to be some preference given to Season Pass holders, so I went ahead and bought a mid week Season Pass to Brighton for 380. I don't think it is a bad deal, I also get a free day at Snowbird.. and Alta & Deer Valley(but I board, so no luck). I figured it is cheap enough that depending on the situation I can purchase a few days at other mountains if my heart is in it and not waste money But in the end, I've enjoyed Brighton and I would be happy there and it is already less busy than other mountains.. Now,,, to hope they are open at all and travel is available. Another nice safety measure is that Brighton is offering the ability to postpone your pass a year if you are unable to use it... so...🙏
  20. Good call!! My parents went to to Bryce years ago, but I've not made it to any yet.
  21. Not the biggest list... PA: Big Boulder, Blue Mt, Blue Knob, Camelback, Elk, Jack Frost, Montage/Sno, Ski Sawmill NY: Belleayre, Hunter, Plattekill UT: Brighton, Solitude Last year was my first trip out west. This year I had two trips cancelled due to covid-19, Killington and Utah. Hoping that an early December trip to UT can still occur this year as I had until the end of 2020 to reschedule my flight.
  22. I did not try safari... Good Luck
  23. I just renewed my pass. I too was having issues renewing because the system was not accepting my credit card info. Once i switched my browser from an open source version of Chrome to Opera the transaction went through.
  24. Never made it Blue Marsh, but I remember passing as we went to our childhood cabin... Amazing how many little hills used to be around. ...Not to de-rail the thread but to lost(not really ever found) ski resort was the resort that was planned near Tunkhannock, but never came to fruition. It appeared to have a lot of potential... Too bad http://www.dcski.com/lostareas/viewlostprofile.php?id=62
