They feel pretty light. Snd I think they market them towards an alternative to snowshoeing. They require less energy expenditure than snowshoes. I will post my thoughts after I use them.

We use to go from OC to the cashinos when i was college all the time. I forget why we got pulled over on the way home from AC, but im sure it was 1-2 am or something, policeman said “you guys should get out of here. I have a gun and a bulletproof vest, and i dont like being here.” havent been to AC in many years.

After much research, I just got lazy and got myself some Altai HOK skis. Backcountry cross country skis are its own category, but sort of just seem like tele skis. I was looking hard at the Alpina Discovery 68’s. I dare you to find ANY info about these on their website. I double dare you to find a place that actually sells them. Guess I would have to fly to Slovenia and take European delivery. Was also looking at the Fischer S-Bound series. Again, seems like a unicorn and couldn’t find them in stock anywhere. The shops around here seem to focus on the skimo crowd as the Big 4 race and the Grand Traverse are big deals here. You can’t walk into a ski shop and throw a rock without hitting a pair of Dynafit’s. On a side note, is it me or does the skimo crowd seem to bear a striking resemblance to the road bike crowd. Both have an air of elitist douchebag and both fall under the umbrella term spandex mafia. And if you are a man and weigh over 147.2 lbs they kick you out of either club. These are my new HOK’s They have a permanent skin on the bottom. They seem like toys they are so tiny. 125’s. Bindings similar to snowboard bindings and are adjustable to any shoe. Snow incoming this weekend, YAY!

I dont really understand what a soft opening at Blue would be either. Just us PASRS? Invite only?

Atlantic City is probably my favorite place to hate in the world. First time I was there I was walking to the boardwalk through a parking lot and found the remnants of a small fire with a broken shopping cart, an old office chair, and other trash circled around it, obviously a bunch of weirdos having a little campfire overnight. Then, of course on the boardwalk was a pro wrestling match, complete with a full sized ring, announcer, mustic, and a bunch of WWE wannabees having a match in which they broke 6' fluorescent light bulbs over each other's heads. It's like the great pacific garbage patch, all the human trash from the NYC to Philly metro just swirls around until it finally clumps together in Atlantic City. That being said, at 8am on a Saturday it's barely an hour from Philly, so packing a cooler and running down to grab a beach day is still something that's fun to do a few times each summer. I'll only park at the far north end of town and hit the beach there though. Definitely don't go anywhere near the casinos or actually utilize anything in the town.

I’ve only stayed at the Taj Mahal. My office manager stayed at Oceans a couple weeks ago and liked it and only like $150 a night.

Yes, the Tropicana in AC. I had stayed in that tower before so I knew what to expect, but AC hotel rooms are always surprisingly shitty. Not as bad as the mom and pop motels in wildwood, but worse than chain motels like econolodge
