  1. Why go in at all if you have that option? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I was up there on Saturday and there was no snow. They must have some very favorable temps right now.
  3. Was waiting for you to chime in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Saturday afternoon is looking warm and sunny. How long til a bump line gets skied in?
  5. Assuming passably decent snow conditions, ski em a few runs first. Detune a small amount at a time. Easier to do more than undo something that’s now too dull. I generally find that a rockered ski works better for me when the edges are detuned slightly back past the rocker inflection point, but I also ski like a park rat, slash everything, and am always looking for transitions. 6. I watched that the other night! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Waxed for sure. Tuned depends on how good of a job the factory did. Smaller brands who hand build things tend to do a pretty good job with tunes from the factory, with edge bevels and detunes dialed in for the specific ski’s rocker profile. Larger companies, unless you’re going for race stock stuff, will usually just go 1/1 and call it done. You’re probably fine without a full tune but you may want a gummy stone to soften the edges near the tip and tail if you find your skis to be extra hooky after the first few runs. 8. I'm sure Toomey would love to hear from you
  9. a mellow groomer has never looked so appealing
  10. You're fine; Square takes care of all the security/encryption stuff for you.
  11. raspberry pi, anemometer, barometric pressure sensor, thermometer, and humidity sensor? and some way to get it an internet connection? a few hundred dollars, would be easier if it was within range of wifi
  12. Pretty solid do everything ski ya got there! Proper bindings, too.
  13. Technically correct, but an Epic Day ticket is like $112 or something. No way that’s be hunter’s normal day rate right now with limited terrain. In fact, I don’t think their lift tickets mid season were over $100 last year. The Epic Day makes sense for a place like breck or vail where normal day tickets are pushing $200, but not any of the places in NY or PA, in my opinion. Just means I’m locked out of skiing until December 6th or blue opens, whichever comes first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. correct. passholders until until dec 8th. curious to hear how crowded hunter is this weekend. maybe they'll be at capacity, who knows, but they'll definitely be losing money not opening up to day tickets. maybe @AtomicSkiercan set up a Zoom call from the chairlift.
  15. wonder if any of these places are still clear enough to be able to ski em if we end up with a decent winter, snowfall-wise
  16. I don't know the specifics of Smith's lenses as well as Oakley, sorry. This chart from Oakley should help ya out with lens choice from them, though.
  17. fire pit in the back yard would be great on thanksgiving, if it wasn't supposed to rain all day. gonna need to get some bourbon, i think
  18. Smith whatever fits your helmet/face with ChromaPop storm yellow lens or Oakley whatever fits your helmet/face with Prizm rose, pink, or persimmon lens. I've accumulated like 5 or 6 different lenses for my crowbars over the years, and I use the prizm rose lens probably 90+% of the time. Unless it's a super sunny spring day, or a clear day out west, they block out enough light, and I think they do just as well at night and even better on overcast days than the high intensity yellow lens that was kinda the standard for those conditions for many years. Don't be deceived by light transmission values and see that obviously a clear lens lets through the most light and think it's best for low light days. While some of the color options do technically block out some light, the base color and various laminates or coatings that are used help to enhance certain colors which increases contrast. So while everything may technically be "darker" while wearing something like the prizm rose lens, you can actually make out contours in the snow, ice, etc better. I swear it's not just marketing hype; everyone I know who's looked through a prizm lens has been pretty surprised by the difference it actually makes.
  19. hope that lot beer is for loosening up the legs in preparation for round two. the real fun on mainstreet doesn't really begin until the piles start to form.
  20. Does this count as new purchases if I paid someone to print it for me? Gonna need to make a few modifications to that wonky rotating piece near the top to actually be able to use all holes in the heel template.
  21. If i remember correctly, you can quarantine for 7 days and have a negative test within 72 hours of traveling to VT. I'm too lazy to go look it up again though.
