1. Taking them out is fine, but if they’re in, they should be snug with blue loc-tite put on the threads first so they don’t rattle themselves loose. Same goes for cuff alignment bolts. Ask me how I know… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
2. Glad that people feel like they can get back to their regularly scheduled programming, but for people with kids too young to be vaccinated, it really does suck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. I might have some sitting in the basement from old RXs. Usually I would take the top one out for mid winter skiing and put it back in for the spring once things start to warm up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4. Heard the same thing from from a few instructors on valley school west yesterday as to why they’re not doing anything with The Warming Hut building this year. It’s gettin blown up to make room for the new chair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

6. Kinda unlikely there's much need here for these but never hurts to try. Selling a pair of 120mm Salomon Shift brakes. The bindings were purchased new last year, mounted up this season, and the brakes were too wide for the skis they went on so I swapped them out for a narrower set. These have been used maaaaybe for two hours, so they're all but brand new. New Shift brakes are going for $100+. I'd love to get $75 for these, and selling local so I don't have to deal with shipping would be great.
7. 186 is the perfect length. Nothing else needs to exist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
8. Lift lines were pretty Epic for a Tuesday morning. The issue seemed to be people thinking that the vip line was the singles line. We bounced back and forth between quad and doubles til about 10:30, then when we realized that the bulk of the “vip” line was people without season passes, started to strategically maneuver through the line and never took more than 5 minutes after that. Razors, paradise, widow maker, and lazy were possibly the best snow I’ve skied them with all year. It was awesome to ski razors at 100% and know your edges were gonna grip no matter how hard you pushed. Don’t get to do that too often, given that I don’t run a 3° side bevel like AtomicSkier Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
9. Yup, right by a school. I don’t think you’d be able to see it from any highway, as it’s not that big and the trails are really not that wide as you can see in my photos. It’s part of Mahlon Dickerson preserve, so yes they do trail maintenance. There are trails in there that people bike, though I don’t think there’s an actual bike park, technically. 11. Seemed like the poconos got skunked, and I didn't have the time to venture into the majestic mountains of New York or New England, so we undertook a mission a little closer to home. After digging through the NELSAP archives and the be-all-end-all of information that is Facebook, @GSSucks and I set our sights on Snow Bowl, a defunct ski area about an hour from NYC in northern New Jersey. I left home around 5:30 with a friend and we met @GSSucks about 2 hours later where he was pulled off on the side of the rode like a creeper. Car said 5°, weather app said -6° wind chill. Fueled by rice crispy treats and coffee, I booted up and we started our ascent. Minor wrong turn took us into what might have formerly been a snowmaking pond. Luckily it was all dried up, but it made for a spicy descent with skins on and heels loose. After we found the trail again, the uphill was relatively easy and uneventful. No one else was there, so @GSSucks set the skin track and we tried to keep up. Once at the top, one could theoretically see the NYC skyline, or at least the old trail map says so, but I saw no buildings. Oh well, the snow was good and we had it all to ourselves. We transitioned from uphill to downhill mode and took our first lap. Top 1/3 was a little scrapey and wind blow, but once the pitch kicked up and we got a little farther down the hill, the snow in the loosely spaced trees was great. Probably about 5-6", with some deeper pockets from drifting. We did four laps in total, for just shy of 1500 vert, with our last run having the best snow of the four. At under 2 hours from home, it's a great option for me when coastal storms skunk the Poconos but deliver farther east.

15. Are you really comparing an eagles game to skiing at blue? There’s multiple viable forms of public transit to get to the stadiums. Lemme know when I can take a train from my house to blue, then I’ll pay to park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
16. I forgot the rubber bands last time and had to improvise and use a pair of cam straps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
17. Correct me if I’m wrong but the duke PT requires you to remove part of the toe piece to use it in uphill mode, ya? If that’s a concern, shifts are the way to go. I have pivots on all the things, so CAST was my preferred route, with dynafit speed radical toes. I have to swap toes for the up vs down, but if you if you’re doing inbounds stuff with the ski 90%+ of the time and are strong enough to push a pivot 15 DIN-wise, it’s a great option. I can bring em to blue this weekend if you wanna check em out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
18. Check with the manufacturer; some offer a discounted crash replacement program. Definitely replace that. Just because it looks like a small dent on the outside, if it was enough of a hit that it caused you to consider it, the foam on the inside could very easily be cracked, compressed, or otherwise compromised. Honestly from the look of that impact, MIPS probably didn’t play too much of a role here. MIPS is designed to create a slip layer for rotational impacts to slow down the rotational velocity of your brain vs your skull. Not knocking it at all, my bike helmets have it, but I’m curious how much it helps in the real world on snow or ice. All just my speculation, I’m not an engineer or brain surgeon.
