  1. Maybe I should bring my Himalayan Salt Plate to serve steak on? https://themeadow.com/pages/how-to-cook-steak-on-a-himalayan-salt-block
  2. Yeah, restaurant depot is mostly food, with some equipment and supplies, where restaurant store is mostly equipment and supplies with some food like spices and large volume canned goods. Restaurant depot even has a fresh fish section
  3. I do most of my grocery shopping at Giant in Coplay or the Weis on Macaurthur Rd, or the same chains in Coopersburg if I stop in on the way home from work. The steak from last week came from Giant in Coopersburg. When I need something specific (or they're having a good sale) I hit the Restaurant Depot on Schoenersville Rd. That's where today's flat iron steaks came from. You're supposed to have to have a restaurant to buy there, but they will give a membership to anyone who can show a business liscence. My wife's work got a membership so they can buy stuff for employee events and they gave her one of the cards, so now it lives in my wallet, lol. They usually have good prices, especially on meat. Those flat irons were originally one top blade roast that I trimmed into the flat irons. Was like $3.34 per lb, a bargain for steak that tender. I get a great price on brisket there too.
  4. If they don't blow at all tonight, that's weak sauce, IMO. Skied at Camelback today and they had the guns on all day. Still on. They closed a few trails strategically for an all out assault, big whales on Bactrian, Upper Cleopatra and the bottom of Pharaoh. Will be at Blue in the morning. Hope the snow is as good there tomorrow as it was slightly north today.
  5. Gotcha, didn't catch that. It seems much more organized this year. Last year there was no RSVP and just flashed pass at the door to get in. No one checked the year
  6. I went last year on this years pass. They didn't care, but they didn't have an RSVP at all last year. I bet they added that this year because they were going through food like crazy last year, I think they underestimated the demand. It was a free lunch, pretty darn good actually, for a free lunch. There were also a bunch of prizes raffled off, and everyone who came got a voucher that you could exchange for a free ticket to the aerial park, the wine festival, the beer festival, or one other option I can't remember. Don't know if they will give out the voucher this year, but they said they are raffling prizes.
  7. Bumping this. I just emailed my RSVP. Hope they didn't mean by close of business.
  8. Bumping thread, gift cards on sale at 9 am. Probably sel out in less than 2 minutes.
  9. I didn't either, but I re-upped in person and they took my current one and ran it over the reader to add next year on to it. Anyone redeeming a 2016 buddy pass should make sure to tell them not to redeem the one for next year. They did that to my dad, he didn't say anything and when I reminded him and he went to check he found they had used his 2017 one. They made a note that he still had one coming next year.
  10. There's apparently a bunch of neat stuff like that around Catasaqua, like tunnels to and from and maybe connecting some of those big assed houses on Pine Street
  11. Gluesday. Awesome. Fat ass thumbs. Snow wasn't glue tho, it was so nice. Probably 75% chance I'm gonna head up tonight. Wave as y'all go past!
  12. Website says they are opening tubing 5-9 tonight. They have Boy Scouts cardboard box race on the tubing hill Saturday. Pour a little out for Widowmaker. I knew on Guesday night I was skiing it for the last time this season.
  13. Probably going to be at Camel on Saturday (still have two days to use on a triple ticket) and likely at Blue Sunday if it's not raining. If I'm there Sunday, I'm grillin'.
  14. They have corrected the website and now it shows 50% off at Blue Mountain as the deal. So $50 giftcard for $25 this Friday at 9am. May the odds be ever in your favor.
  15. There is a Sweet Deal occurring for Blue this Friday. There is confusion about what it is. It says it is for 2 8-hour tickets plus the $40 credit to Slopeside, but it is priced at $25 for $50 value like the gift card deal always is and I know I heard a commercial on the radio that said it was for gift cards. So be ready if you want 'em. http://www.sweetdealscumulus.com/deal/allentown/blue-mountain-ski-resort-20
  16. After Lazy headed up on the six and ran ParaWeaver, then back up for a full Paradise run. Great snow everywhere we went, mostly sugar but not pushed around because it was so uncrowded. Snow was holding an edge great, had a lot of fun cutting giant turns down Paradise. Back up the six and headed over to and down Switchback which was run of the night. Probably best run I've ever had down Switch. Took the double up and ran Widowmaker down to a second run down Burma. Strange thing about Widowmaker was a good sized bare patch on skiers right even though the rest of the trail had the customary 8" of the sweetest powder you've ever seen. After that run we figured it was time to bug out at about 930, so we took the double back up and ran out Widowmaker to the connector and crossed over to the upper lodge where we parked. All in all a fantastic couple hours of skiing. Be out Thursday night if it's not raining, otherwise it's Camelback on Saturday and maybe Blue again Sunday.
  17. Bagged the idea to go to Bearcreek. Headed up to blue, glad we did. Only skied Burma and lazy so far but lovin these conditions.
  18. Looks like Blue is going to honor other mountain passes once they close:
  19. They looked pretty thin in a lot of areas. Lots of brown coming up through the snow in spots. Only two trails officially closed per the trail report that day, but there were a few others where most of the trail was closed but you could access a bit of it off another trail so they were listed as open. A lot of the trails didn't look like they had much base from looking at the edges of the snowpack. The Long Haul was running and it was about a 12" hop to get off the lift. I didn't ski Smoke, Boomer or White Lightning, they looked pretty good from the lifts. Maybe they could keep the rest of the terrain open by narrowing the trails, but it really looked like it was going to be a limp into the finish for them and there's been a lot of temp and a lot of rain between then and now. It also looked pretty obvious that they hadn't made snow the last few chances they had, so I assume they won't in next weeks (hopeful) window. We had a hella good time, and I'm glad we got it when we did. I'll be back next season for sure. Don't think I can squeeze another day in this year but would if it were possible to support them as said above. Especially as a Scranton native.
  20. Yeah, saw there was a tornado that touched down near Scranton, a legit one. Story I saw said the debris field showed up on radar.
  21. I'd read it. Hell, I read the Camelback one. You should write it Doug. That shit could make you a hundredaire.
  22. Yeah, I figured. Was just making a joke about their commercials and how they are based on "can't bring myself to sell" like you said. I know exactly how it is, I have an air hockey table in the basement that gets used maybe twice a year when my nephews are up.
  23. If being a fat, vegetative couch-rider has taught me anything, it's that you should sell it on LetGo.
