  1. That's Blue the true for ya. Pussworts and jitbags..Hahahaa
  2. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  3. I like riding on the fresh blown stuff...Maybe just groom certain areas....
  4. I've ridin in Austria a couple of times(Kitzbuhel)...It's a totally different vibe(not in a bad way). The Alps are fuckin awesome, plus the town is like 900 some years old.You could ski/ride to a different town for lunch, then ride back. They had a great bus/shuttle system. The scenery, old world towns, and awesome food were a plus to the riding.Language was never a problem. The party started as soon as the lift opened.I took a run down the famed Hahnenkamm world cup course which was way cool.
  5. As said before,Blue has great potential.I think it needs a huge injection of $$$$$$$$$.Mountain biking and frisbee golf in the summer are OK,but it doesn't bring in the amount of money you really need for improvements. You need to find people(corperate) to invest in it.You have to get people to want to go there for more than one day,so hotel/lodging is a must. You also want them to come back so snow condition/facilities(lodge,bar,resturant,etc) must be nice. Those facilites can go year round also. The die hard skier/snowboarder might say "we don't care about the lodge etc.,we just want better snow/grooming/open early, close late",but people with $$$(not all) want the whole package. All you have to do is look at Bear Creek to see what can be done.Just remember everything comes with a price.
  6. While I agree with the statement "YOU MAKE YOUR FUN WHERE EVER YOU are comfortable"...Sometimes it's worth it to step out of that zone once and awhile. Maybe just do one or two runs on the east side when no one is around. You don't have to do it at mach3 speed. Give it a try you might just enjoy it.Plus you will be using some different muscles which will be benificial to your fitness program.
  7. Coditions were great today, but was a little dissapointed that everything except Sasquatch was groomed out.I can see grooming the flats, but anything that had pitch should have been let go.
  8. Great Weather for opening day..Snow was good...no death cookies...I think I counted ten rails and a small jump...Everything from Kodiak over was open
  9. I almost bought a house in Harlem..Nice area
  10. I taught snowboarding for about 14 years and never got paid more than $10/hour for a private lesson(most of the time less). It really is kinda dumb to get lessons through the ski school, when with a little effort you can hire somwone direct(for any level of skiing/riding) The one thing that was great about ski school was it got you introductions(mostly with parents). If there kids had a great time skiing/riding with you, you knew they would probably come back and ask for you. Many of these parents would tip rather well.(many of these lessons were for more than an hour also)If you got lucky you would get a couple of these a year. There were a couple of years I made $$$$$$ in tips.I would do plenty of lessons outside of ski school at other mountains too. So if you are really interested in lessons I don't think it would be too hard to find a qualified instructor..Do your research.....
  11. +1 on the track days...Tons of cool motorsports stuff goes on at Laguna Seca(as I am sure you are aware of).. I always felt money spent on tavel was money well spent.
  12. Jeremy Jones has a great segment in a DVD titled "Lines"..It's about big mountain riding,no park stuff. One of my favorite DVDs to watch.
  13. This bag is a couple of years old.I used it on one trip,so it's like new(maybe a little dusty from sittin in the closet)...$50 takes it specs... 60L [25.5in x 14.5in x 14.75in] Custom Skate Wheel Assembly Volume-Enhancing CRAM Zones Shoe Storage Zippered Quick Stash Compartment for Travel Documents
  14. Isn't part of smartstyle to make sure the landing is clear?.....But it still does not make hanging out in the LZ right.
  15. I have a Custom 158 and liked it a lot(it was not the wide model)pretty much got me through everything.Never rode a 7
  16. Making better snow Learning to groom better Condition of the lower lot(trash, etc). The upper lodge reminds me of a ghetto bus terminal I am sure there are days when they do have nice snow and grooming, but the past couple of years that I have gone there the conditions were marginal..That being said there is some good there..vert,easy lift access from the lower lot, ticket scan.. It just doesn't seem like there putting a whole lot back into the mountain. There is a lot of potential at Blue, but it would not be my first choice as a local mountain. But thats just me.
  17. I guess hiking four hundred feet or so is a long way for some people. But back on topic,I really think Blue has bigger issues to deal with than putting a paddle tow at the pipe.
  18. Hiking it will only make you stronger.
  19. The thing with a lot of use is everybody(newbs/inexperienced pipe riders) likes to take the same line and then it gets rutted out. Half pipe doesn't have the draw it used to since parks have really taken off IMO.Is it really that hard to walk back up the pipe?
  20. Rather than fuck with the pipe,Blue should learn how to make better snow...then learn how to groom it better.
  21. Up for sale is my 2001 R6....Excellent condition...11,760 miles on the odometer...One owner bike with all service records...This bike has never been stunted,wheelied,dropped,etc....The only things that are not original to the bike are the front and rear turn signals(I think I still have them) and the plate holder....include is a Two Brothers rear wheel stand and a Joe Rocket textile jacket (XL) in Yamaha colors(in excellent condition)....The only reason I'm selling it is to finance a vintage car......$4,100 PM me for any info or pics. I also have a Teknic one peice leather track suit for sale..Never raced, worn a handful of times...A+ condition..size 44/54
  22. Soumy Vandal..I looked at some Arai's,but they didn't seem to fit as well as the Soumy did.
