i do know someone who thinks that because they live close to a lake, (like 4 blocks) that they get more snow in their yard than people that live further from the lake. the lake was also frozen at the time they made the comment. Good stuff.
  2. I should be up Friday am as well. Usually i park in Jeffs spot, you know, just to see how it feels.
  3. Frost can be alot of fun, but the stuff other than the trails has to be in play. Otherwise, it will close in on you pretty quick, and get kind of boring. Years ago, Phillycore made a push for them to clean up the elevator and open it back up. They cleaned it up, cleared out some trees above it, and it was really good for like the first two years. seems like as the years wore on, stuff like that sort of got neglected. the elevator needs a haircut, and i spent some time last year cleaning out the E glade. They blew snow on top of huge branches, rather than spend a little time before hand to clean them out. In a year where we get good snowfall, there are lots of trees to play in, Gonzo's grind, Mad tree glade, and off of Telstar. For the life of me, i cant figure out why they just give up on T-bolt glade, and just keep challenge glade in really good shape. T-bolt glade needs a crap load of snow to cover up the boulders that are in there, and i've seen a bunch of people get hauled out of there in stretchers. In really good snow years, Frost can be tons of fun. there really is some more area there to explore.
  4. So sorry. Rode lift. Skied down. Repeated this procedure many times. Conditions good. Got crowded. Went to lot.
  5. Do they actually open and close the elevator these days? I remember seeing the sticks up last year, but i felt they were there just because they had some extra sticks.
  6. ok, so today was pretty fucking good up until about 1:30, and then you know the rest. The day started off somewhat questionable as when i pulled into the lot neither the quad or 6 was running. supposedly main street chair got going.....i was really not liking the drive up to the summit, since i was pretty sure the slide back down wasnt going to be pretty. Waited it out a little as RR was still on his way to the mountain. the Quad got going....supposedly the wind overnight blew the chairs out of alignment and it basically needed to run a little to "fix" itself. Later on in the day, the 6 got going, loaded a few chairs, then they started turning people away. ran all day with no one on it. Tomorrow will suck if they still cant load it. Trails right off the quad imo stayed pretty nice all day. Ventured off trail a little towards the afternoon. Fun, but not great for the bases im sure. We took 248 to 209, and jumped on the turnpike back up to Albrightsville. roads were very passable. i got a sweet take home dinner from Dom's wife so its all good. Toast always like pics, so here they are. Dumpage. a litte bit of playing in the woods. More woods I would be ok if i never got back here again. Still dumping though.
  7. Im having a pretty good time.

Morning session. Cold. Blowing snow like crazy. Razors was ok, mostly just really firm cord with a few cookies mixed in for good texture. Challange looked a little more rugged. Paradise was nice, but definitely a slow skiing trail at the top where there was a little fresh man made. Lazy was great, switchback ok, but really happy to have that trail open. Main street was a surprise as it was primarily nice soft snow with just a few little icy patches mixed in. Burma rd was nice, but again a little slow. lots of groomers running around. Top of nightmare, the guns were shut off, lower part still had guns on as well as dreamweaver. NM/DW to me looks good to go, hopefully thats open tomorrow, since any grooming "issues" they have there should get covered up with some of mother natures white goodness. I think conditions will hold up good today, if anybody is skiing tonight. 1 obligatory photo, like i said, it was brutally cold, too cold to be taking the gloves off.
  11. hoping there is enough on the ground tomorrow am to keep people away. hoping Albrightsville get 2-3", just to make things look wintry, while Blue gets some decent accumulation. The slide down 534 to Blue will be my biggest challenge.
  12. Trending north. Its on for Blue Mt. Winds might suck though.
  13. Getting really tired of having to pick up my monitor and turn it sideways to see your pics.
  14. With a pink vistaclub condo, a boutique and a swinging hot spot
  15. I find it interesting that so many people are all uptight about the long haul not running. But so few people from here ski there. I like Montage. I dont really get the hate on the long haul though. Its not like it opens up the whole backside of the mountain or something.
  16. 1st US National Weather breifing Models are spitting out some pretty big numbers. wait and see. i would say 0-24"
  17. I think the VistaClub condo would come in handy for this coming weekend.
  18. Starting to look like it did in 2011. They need to mow it down. I assume the side you cant see looks similar.
  19. Biggest snowstorm of the year on its way late week. I guess it has to be like what, over an inch and a half to wear the crown? Outstanding. https://doctoochweather.wordpress.com/2016/01/17/threat-of-major-winter-storm-for-121-122-increasing/ Just something to keep an eye on.
