  1. It is, dimensions don't change but I think they got rid of the variable sidewall....though that may have been last year. pics - Ar6 is third one from the right Sick Sick Sick....I hope I can get them through proform early next year but they may not be the poser forms I have acess to.
  2. Those are the best, its best though when your friend all of the sudden disappears. I heard loveland has been kind of full this year. Propaganda ?
  3. For your weight I think a p18 or 15 may be overkill, though if you have the cash grab them because they won't be around for long and they will last forever. You could go with a 12 or 14 which will save you money since your not a giant. Regardless, the p series is the best binding ever made so you can't go wrong. If you look in the right places you can pick a p10 up for 50-75 and p12/14 100 the P15 or P18 is going to be more costly. Additionally old p18's have no wide break option so you have to bend them, if you a problem let me know and I can help you with this. Also the P series has a tight heal screw pattern skis light fat skis may present a problem but for tonker park skis no need to worry. Ski wise you can fix all the shit if you are really interested, if not rock whatever you can pick up on the cheap and push the savings into a trip. My only advise ski wise is to avoid the invader....not trying to be a dick just saying.
  4. Even if you think touring is for hippies or people that can't afford lift tickets these have to give you a boner. DIN AND DYNAFIT compatable keyed/sliding system blocks, adjustable flex up to 110, 3.8lbs, BOA Closure System and cheap MSR is 700.
  5. Keep the old ones and buy a real pow ski, for 200 - 400 you can get a sick 100 plus ski and not have to sacrifice on performance. EC twins are easy to pick up cheap, look on-line right at the end of the seaon or watch Gear Swap on TGR. I like the AR5/6's for mixed EC skiing and you can pick up a pair of those for like 300 end of the year
  6. It is elsewhere but I don't think Bear has ever made it to April 1 though that would be mad cool if they did
  7. I can wear this one, but gaper day historically is a random day in March

Your 100% right and there is stuff that is 5 minutes OB in the east that will kill you. The Slides, most of Mansfield, Remember Alec Stall ? (that traverse wasn't five minutes but wasn't hours of skining either) Experiance and knowledge can significantly reduce your possibility of being killed or serious injured in an avalanch but never elminate it completley. A gentlemen who I took WFAR with and had Avy 3 level training rode that train to the white room last year. There is alot of BC in the east and though it isn't on the West's quality and scale, slides happen frequently. The whites were going off yesterday additionally I have heard many reports from trusted friends about small slides on Mansfield yesterday. Report on the Stall incident http://www.stowemountainrescue.org/Stall_R...tall_Report.pdf GSS did you ever get out to Bear Pond in the winter when you were at UVM ? I want to check this area out but it may be a waste.
  9. I don't know if there is a direct replacment the Kung Fujas is kind of the new Seth (95 waist) I don't know the waist for the Extreme but the Disorderlylooks closest.
  10. The 183 Ice Atlantic Shaman, Vokyl Kuro and the BD Megawatt check out the BD boots too those things give me a boner.

Agreed....though even in the ADK and Whites avy danger is significantly lower in general than West Tuxs is probably the large exception to that rule.
  12. I would argue it does work in surfing as out of towners and newbs don't really catch anything. As to starting shit off the top of my head I would say the Bode thread, the gun comment thread, the thread we are currently in, the Sno/Blue closing threads honestly though I meant the starting shit in a light hearted manner. Imagine how boring this place would be if we all got along the whole time and being passionate about things you love is a good thing.
  13. Hate works pretty well in surfing doesn't it? .........and this whole thing is nothing compared to surfing and you do start shit all the time.
  14. Word is snow is pretty good as there has been consistent dumps over the last few days, there is a layer of rain crust underneath that caused some problems before last two nights big dump. Hopefully that will be burried and no longer an issue. Stowe is 82 per day though you can get multiday tickets and save a little money. Stay away from benchwoods as that is played out, ask some locals about the chin call, the pipeline and goat chute call, spruce, kitchen wall, notch, hellbrook, taft and then keep the directions a secret.
  15. Idaho rocks and Schweitzer is definitely the best enjoy.
  16. No my name is Steve and I think I rode with you tuesday night old beater Ar5's green pants black jacket.....I'm the old head

In the east you have to leave the trail map to get the pow alot of the time but I certainly agree with what you saying. I love VT but I would move back west in a second if it was totally up to me. Its just that I can get to Jay in 24 hours if I know it is going to snow whereas the fact that it is going to snow in UT tommorow doesn't really help me as all the prep takes some time. So you add pow days you would never have because you can go last last minute.

Hahah little shit heads on NS know nothing about VT, NH or Maine. Snow, terrain, vibe all of it is far far better than PA its not the west in some terms but it can challenge you just as much. You want Pow, cliffs, steeps, pillows, BC, booters, rails, pipe it is all there and at a level that is some what comprable to the West. Is it as easy to find and in the same abundance ? No but f*ckers who skip the NE so they can go west once or twice a year are missing alot and that fine because then there is more for me. BTW Go tell sam or soul the last time you rode shit like this in PA - it amazes me that skiers from PA can be so closed minded
  21. Noaa is very consistent as far as weather is concerned and they show a clusterf@#k for this week too with colder weather on the weekend, Jebus just took a giant dump on Bear.
  22. Off strawberry gondola is Demoisy, from the top of the gondi head right up the bootpack and on the ridge look for the notches that indicate the chutes. There are three distinct ones, the widest is on the right the smallest and balliest is far left. Ogden and strawberry peak are good too but require alot of work and some skill. Off John Paul is the no name area which has good pow skiing and a little steeps. If the coke can is running take it to get the extra vert, if you know the area you can ride the backside into Ogden. The Olympic downhill starts up there too, which is fun. The only thing you have to worry about over here is going to far out wheelers and getting into the pyramids which are only ok and leave you with a short walk back to the lift. Lastly ride sisters and look right I will leave it to you to figure the rest out.
  23. Hahah I believe your sarcasm meter must be broken, death gaps aside you have to agree that there is a serious problem with gapers in the parks. I'm not talking about skill level per se but the lack of park etiquette that causes serious problems. I have no particular problem with racers, I used to race alot and still run Nastar occasionally but gapers need to learn the fuckin rules. It isn't the core guys who ride everyday, it isn't the park crew, it isn't the young bucks its the fuckin gapers who are getting carted out on the meat wagon every weekend. I wouldn't let my brother with a learner permit hop in a Veyron just like I wouldn't let him hit 20 footers it called being responsible. When I ride I'm responsible for me and whoever I'm with to make sure were riding smart, so yeah it pisses people off when you are essentially at the mercy of other Jongs who have no idea what they are doing.
