  3. Looks like about 5”’deep at most of the Colorado spots
  4. I’ve seen other videos of the Headwaters, big sky’s triple black terrain. I saw where on some of the hike you are holding a rope and there’s a lot of exposure. A tough thing on hike to terrain that gnarly is finding a semi flat spot to put your skis on.
  5. Hey All, I leave for Colorado Tuesday morning. Flying United from Philly to Denver around 10am, renting a mid sized awd SUV at Alamo..stop off in Idaho springs for safety supplies and then to the Silverthorne comfort suites. I’ve stayed in 5 different hotels in Silverthorne/Dillon including the Best Western, La Quinta Inn, Days Inn, Hampton inn and Silver inn. Airfare is free, hotel is $680 with tax for six nights and rental car prob will be about $500-550 it’s a variable price. Logistics are boring so onto the weather. It’s supposed to be cold and snowy the first part of my trip and then still winterlike with sun and clouds..remember snow breeds snow..could be a bit of a cycle. I’m Just hoping I-70 through the continental divide is open as it looks like all day snow Tuesday in the mountains Falalalala Heres a few pictures from past mid april trips to Colorado.
  6. The radar shows snow along the Appalachian spine. Wednesday and Thursday mornings in Silverthorne it’s gonna be in the low teens probably single digits at Abay...brrrrr
  7. I didn’t know you were into history. Allentown is old AF. Founded in 1762
  8. Where did you grow up? My grandfather was into trolleys. Allentown had a whole system of trolleys. He even had one like from Mr. Rogers neighborhood in his library.
  9. No lotion for me..I like my jerks like I like my ribs..a dry rub wahahahah
  10. Season passes are now $799
  11. I’ve been told I have soft hands.
  12. When I used to disc golf I always tore my hand up. Maybe the pros wear gloves.
  13. Blue needs to build a waterpark and a hotel if they want to attract people there in the summer. Also a mountain coaster.
  14. The last time I was in Scranton in 2008 I visited Steamtown. A train lovers paradise.
  15. Do people still call it Folf? Frisbee golf is also usually free.
  16. Looks like nice corn snow on Main Street.
  17. @saltyant it’s rained almost 2” so far today. This is grate for the snowmaking ponds!!
  18. United airlines is asking me if I want to buy any snacks on the plane ahead of time for my flight on Tuesday. I’ll probably pass as I’m a boomer and arrive at the airport 2-3 hours early and usually eat something in the airport then gain two hours and will have lunch on the way to summit county and then have dinner and snacks as well I’m sure I don’t need a fourth meal. The burger sang is tempting and only $10
  19. I heard the bread is free. Salty do you like vegetables?
  20. If they could figure out a way to trick customers into washing their own dishes, restaurants could really cut out a lot of overhead.
  21. I went to the cook your own restaurant in Silverthorne(the mint) and I picked out a steak(a ribeye) and I asked if they’d cook it medium because I wanted to relax at the bar and they Obliged. There’s a Mexican restaurant in Rehobath beach that has deconstructed tacos on the menu...now that’s something I like. Hard beef tacos for me please!!!
  22. Looks good and it’s supposed to snow Monday in Tahoe.
  23. The last time I went to a Pondersa was when I was in college. Back then it was maybe $11.99-$15 for a steak but came with salad bar with hot and cold items like tacos and pasta and potato skins and I believe soft served ice cream...same concept. Since I’m happily putting off work I have to get done this afternoon, I’ll find you a short Anthony bourdain video from the sizzler. Three minutes long.
