  1. My first day at Blue this season (apart from Valley School east and west teaching my fiance) and it was a good one. I was stoked to finally be able to turn up the speed on my new fischer cold heat 182's and man were they solid at high speeds. Definitely made the right choice going with the 182's. All I can say is Upper Main Street was unreal. I would have been happy hitting that again and again, best snow on the mountain. This was also my first time there since the installation of the 6-pack, makes that line move quick which was definitely needed today. It was great to meet a lot of you. Hope to see you at future PASR days.
  2. What is this discount that you can get at Buckman's?
  3. Can you supply any more details about the charger that is required for the battery? I want to see how much that would run to pick it up.
  4. Reregistered with a different username (now with a space) .... and No.
  5. Thanks for the info. After thinking about it I decided to just put the cash up for a new pair, however not the Salomon's. I should have a new set of Fischer Cold Heat 182's sitting on my door step when I get home from work tonight!
  6. If you are still holding on to it come the end of the month, I will hit you up.
  7. Thanks for the replies ... Just placed the order for the 182! Hopefully will be here by this weekend since the skis are coming in from State College, PA.
  8. Well I think that I have narrowed it down to the Fischer Cold Heat (after reading a lot of reviews). Now I am unsure of sizing. They are offered in the 176 and a 182. I am 6' tall and weigh 190 and ski very aggressive. I think that I am right between the 2 sizes.
  9. Oh man, I have been itching for an inexpensive DSLR .....
  10. I hit up JF on Friday for the demo day that Buckman's had set up (Thanks John!) and tried the Salomon X-Wing Fury 177's and LOVED them. Unfortunately, due to the cold and my GF waiting for me in the lodge, I couldn't try other skis. So looking online I have found several other skis that seem very similar and some of last year's models that will save some $$$. Here is what I am considering: Atomic Nomad Crimson TI 176 Salomon X-Wing Fury 177 Nordica Hot Rod Jet Fuel 178 Fischer RX Cold Heat 176 Obviously the Salomon and the Atomic's are more expensive. Also, the Nordica and Fischer are less expensive because I have found some left-overs from last year. Anyone have any opinions on any of the skis listed above? I really wished I had more time to try the other skis, but that just wasn't in my cards. The Salomons felt like I was skiing on rails and was absolutely glued to the mountain. All of the skis listed have nearly identical specs and are all rated as an expert all mountain "mid fat" ski. I don't care about edge to edge speed nor small radius turns. These are all listed at about an 18m radius. Any information is appreciated!
  11. I am looking at grabbing some Salomon X Wing Fury 172's off of Ebay (item# 400022977281) that come with S12 adjustable demo bindings on them. My question is how difficult, or even possible, is it to remove the "demo" portion of the binding and remount them permanently? Or is this just a bad idea all together?
  12. It's awesome to see a whole family the skis/rides together! Welcome to PASR!
  13. I am thinking of hitting Blue early next week at least one of the mornings listed ... anyone going to be in the house?
  14. I am all over this. Probably pick up 2 or 3.
  15. I'd be up for something in late Feb. Should give me enough time to take care of a certain other expense. I didn't go out west last year, so I need to get out this year. I haven't hit WP so that sounds good to me.
  16. Warren Miller did a shoot in Iran quite a few years back ... I believe Mongolia as well.
  17. My brother and I will be there ...
  18. Spring is great! It is where I taught myself to snowboard a few seasons ago. Its not worth much beyond that though.
  19. hmmm, $15 lift tickets might get me up there for the first time ever.
  20. One of Warren Miller's latest flix has a guy killing it in the park on tele's ... maybe one of the most amazing things I have seen.
  21. That is where I went for my first time as well. I can't believe how much pain I was in the following few days. I had skied for over 10 years, and that whole first day of snowboarding I couldn't believe what I was putting myself through. I decided to stick with it and started going to Spring Mountain, which is even closer if you live in the Philly area, after work on Friday nights. Its a great little place to learn. If it wasn't for Spring, I think that I would have given up! Stick with it and welcome to PASR!
  22. With some more terrain opening up, I am tempted to head up. Think that it will be crowded Monday Christmas-Eve morning?
  23. How has no one else caught this?
