  1. Hmmm, how long is this thread going to make it?
  2. Hmm, that means you averaged 120 mph
  3. Really would put those that wear the reflective, mirror helmets to shame!
  4. Yeah, we rode up the 6-pack together
  5. Not an error ... I went up there today after work and earned some turns

What about a 5 year degree that took 6 years to get ... or in your case a 4 year that took 7

you say pessimistic, I say realistic ... you say poe-tay-toe, I say poe-tah-toe

    SNOW AT CB

That is definitely encouraging. But like past winters it will be snowing in October and raining in January
  9. I voted for $650. I would possibly go up to $800 if I knew for sure that I would use it enough. I would hate to drop the 800 bones and then have a crappy warm winter.
  10. I don't know much about it as a ski area, but I did get to play the golf course earlier this summer. The club house is built on top of that highest point that you mentioned and provides a great view out over much of the course and the surrounding area. There are no remnants of it ever being a ski area though ...
  11. I don't even know you and I am concerned ... It doesn't matter if you wait a few months, or for that matter years, because Doug will just dig it back up ...
  12. Bull Mountain ... Don't go changin'! "You are going to change the name of the mountain?" "Yeah, Bull Mountain is just ...... Shitty"
  13. I agree with that. Don't most business's base their sale price on 3 years (maybe 5) worth of profits?
  14. hmm, guess it was out west that I saw it then ... Think that there is a law, or something to that affect, for the state of PA against inverted aerials?
  15. I believe that I saw a sign at Camelback that says the same thing.

    Public Enemy

That was my experience as well. No way could I see the Metron as an all mountain ski. I wandered off into some crud and slush and it was pretty horrible on those ski's. I wish out west I had something like the PE's, I am sure that it would have made for a much more enjoyable experience in the bowls at Vail.

I was just out west in early March during a warm spell and I definitely could have used a bigger ski for powering through all that slop and slush.

    Public Enemy

Thanks for all the replies and advice. I demo'd the Metron's out west at Vail and did not like them too much. I actually prefered the Volkl's much better (sorry Jeff), which I demo'd my first 2 days out there. I do enjoy attempting to arc turns, and a 12 meter radius is nuts, but I just don't have the legs to make a thousand turns down the mountain, so I am thinking that an all mountain ski will be better. Twin tip are not just for landing switch, look at the K2 Sid Vicious ... twin wip but I don't think anyone is trying anything in the park with those beasts. I was looking more at a pure carving ski until I ran across these K2's at the this great price and it got me thinking. I have a week to think about it, well hopefully if they are still there next weekend. The same shop had a pair of Volkl 5-star 168, which is basically what I demo's out west, with bindings for less than $250, but they are a demo pair which probably got used and abused so I am going to stay away from those. Thanks again for all the input "but they'll work awesome for you in crud, fresh, or late season slush, as well as rip on the groomers too." Thats exactly what I was thinking ... hmm maybe I will stop bye tomorrow to check them out again

    Public Enemy

I can get a pair of new unmounted K2 public enemy 174 for $250.00. I have not skied this ski before, nor anything like it. I have an older pair of salomon 720 twin tip, but they are nothing like this ski. I would use it more as an all mountain ski and maybe a little bit in the part. K2 describes it as mainly a park ski but I was wondering if anyone knew how it perfroms on the rest on the mountain? Thanks for the help.

    The Pond

The pond skimming was definitely cool. That "Lincoln Loop" was total bad ass, I couldn't believe it when I saw it. But the best was that 5-year-old kid that went across not once, but twice. Hopefully he's a future PASR member The MC was a total tool though. What got me the most was that he was smoking during the competition and throwing the cigarettes out right on the mountain in front of everyone, was he a Blue employee?
  21. Because of reasons posted above, and more, I believe that next season my bro and I are going to be hitting up Blue instead of Camelback. We both liked Blue more anyway, but we liked the Camelcard discount at Camelback, however, I don't think that will be enough to get our business back for next year.

    Colorado

Day 2, March 2nd Waking up still finding it hard to believe that I was finally in Colorado and about to ski the rocky mountains for the first time. Headed out to Keystone so my buddy could pick up his skis/gear from his patrol locker, then hit an awesome little coffe place in Dillon for some breakfast, then off to Vail. Parked in the underground parking at Vail Village, booted up and walked to the place that I rented my skis from. I got a pair of Volkl Supersport 168. Rode the Vista Bahn Express, the longest lift ride I have ever been on, and that only got me half way up the mountain. Skied over to Mountain Top Express and reached the peak. We skied over to the edge of Sun Up bowl and when I looked around I was absolutely amazed. Nothing but bowls spreading for 7 MILES!!! I saw a lift WAY, WAY off in the distance and asked my buddy if that was still Vail, I could not believe it. Unfortunately I can't remember all of the names of the runs we took, but we started out with some groomers so that I could get used to the skis. The first run was unreal, I could not believe how long it took to get back to a lift, it was crazy. After that run we hit some of the EPIC back bowls. Unfortunately it was rather warm that day and a lot of the exposed bowls were slushed up ("mad apple sauce" - Doug) and the Volkl's were the absolute wrong ski for that. We mixed our day between groomers that were cut through the bowls, some open glades, a few bumps, and then some crud. We hit most of the bowls and made our way out to Blue Sky Basin which was unreal . I needed to pinch myself on every run and each lift back up, it was just stupid how amazing it was. I don't know exactly how many runs we took, but I know that my legs burned more than ever before. The only "bad" thing about the day was the temperature. It was in the mid to upper 30s on the peaks with bright sunlight, which now only made the snow not great but I was also way over dressed and was sweating my butt off at the end of each run. Now me being way out of shape does not help any. The base area around Vail Village was easily into the mid 40s and with the bright sun, most people were walking through the village with t-shirts on. That night we headed back to his place, grabbed a few slices of pizza and just hung out around town. Needless to say I passed out pretty early that night, and needed the sleep for the next day.

    Colorado

Well I arrived in Colorado this afternoon. I called my buddy that was going to be picking me up only to hear bad news that his alternator on his Jeep went out on him and he was trying to find a way to come pick me up. I decided to save him the trouble and rented a car instead. I flew in to Eagle County/Vail airport and got to drive to Dillon (right near Keystone). It was the most amazing drive of my life. I past several resorts on the way and got to drive through Vail pass, it was beautiful. I have not even been on the slopes yet and I am already considering not coming back. Tomorrow morning I am renting ski's and hitting Vail. I am not sure how long I will last as I can tell the affects of the altitude already, so we'll see. I believe that Friday I will be skiing vail again and then Saturday and Sunday switching over to my snowboard for Keystone. If the conditions permit I may go Cat skiing Monday, but it does not look too promising. I hope to hit Breck at least one day as well. I won't be able to post as much as the all mighty post whore Doug, but when I get the opportunity to I will.
  24. Hmm .. pasr day at Blue or ski Keystone, CO ....
