Don't let that stop you ... I kept my job and still moved. Calling for 2 back-to-back storms this weekend and early next week. Should see several feet of snow.

We had my wife's car shipped. She already had a ton of miles on it and the cost of shipping wasn't too bad so I think it was worth it in the end. Early season conditions out here have been really nice. My first day of the season I was skiing shin to knee deep in the trees with a pretty decent base underneath. More snow coming this weekend!

We did it in about 27-hours pulling a small u-haul trailer not going too much over the speed limit ... Medford Lakes, NJ to Wheat Ridge, CO 1750 miles.

Make sure that you get out early. Kmart turns into a shit show pretty quickly on weekends ... especially Great Northern and Great Eastern. If you get some fresh, head for the trees as gapers tend to stay out of there. I like Rime to East Fall, but East Fall is almost always bumped up which you may not like on a snowboard. If you want to get out and carve some groomers, you can't go wrong with any of the Blue trails first thing in the morning. Then head to the parks when they get too crowded. My favorite happy hour is Casey's Caboose for beer and wings. (3pm - 6pm)

It is a rough life. I was struggling with the mental anguish caused by franken superstorm Sandy and the only way to drag myself out of the deepest of depressions was to purchase the skis.

Walked into Buckmans in Montgomeryville last week after grabbing a late lunch at Melt Down across the street. Walked out with last year's Volkl Gotama 186 and binders.

$10 Tuesday is a great deal. I was up there on 24-Jan and it was empty. The only disappointing thing was that they were not running the long haul lift, which actually keeps you from accessing a few of the runs and kills the flow of the mountain. I will definitely had back on a weekend when LH is running. I can say I enjoy Sno more than Blue. If they had a high speed lift, Sno would probably be my first choice in the Poconos.

I will be in Germany for work in late January/early Feb at our Nuremberg office. I found a train that goes from Nuremberg to Kitzbuhel for less than 40 Euro. If I have time, I may try and hit it!

I plan on being there Saturday morning.

Do you know which mountains you are going to hit or are you going to wait until you get out there to decide? Personally, I highly recommend making a visit to Snowbasin. Of the 4 places I hit last winter in Utah, that was my favorite.

If there was such a thing as post of the year ... this would be it.

Have been kicking around the idea of a Saturday morning visit, but it being a holiday weekend I am not sure if it will be worth it.

Out of curiosity, which shop is your "central shop"? I am assuming that if I bring my ski's to that location I will get a little better turn around time?

I went to one of the WMMR days last year and it was not bad at all. I got there at opening and had the place nearly to myself for quite a long time. Most people are coming up to party and hang out and they are not typically early risers.

True, but there is a reserve set on them on Ebay. I would guess somewhere close to the $300 mark. Plus no one pays listed price on Craigslist so that's the way to go.

Saturday morning of a Holiday week, I am not sure if you will have any luck with under $30 ... especially the night before.

If I didn't pick up new sticks last year, I would be all over this deal.
