  1. yeah, weekends we've been hitting up montage. last nite was our first nite at blue. I've just been pretty silent on all platforms lately...work and stuff going on. I see you found the Ski the East FB group
  2. we were up there for the first adult race clinic session of the year. arrive at the upper lot a shade after 5:30 PM in order to get our passes and ski a few warmup laps before meeting the class up at the racing office. we also noticed how douchey SP was being. I had some words with one of them who was parked at the first turn on paradise. he was yelling at kids who were objectively in control and were not going fast at all (in fact she was slowing down when she got yelled at by SP). SP should have been on main street where chute ties in. that place is such a cluster-f. smh....
  3. this makes me sad. sugarbush has a lot of great terrain. are there any plans to increase capacity?
  4. Just pulled into the lot and snagged lift tix. Waiting for my buddy rob to get here. Lot is hopping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. not gonna make Friday. hoping for to make the weekend!
  6. that's what the lift rides are for
  7. I also heard BB is planning to open this week/weekend. glad to see this is most likely gonna happen!
  8. tinymoose is the same way. she has a blanket and hoodie on if the indoor temp dips to 70 in our house....smh

    18/19 Season Update

now this is really funny! elk's terrain is OK, but def nowhere near to being the best in PA. they need to open up the woods there, that could be a game-changer for them. I've had better snow conditions at Jack Frost more frequently than at Elk...and that's on a consistent basis. Elk def has the old-school vibe going for them, but not totally in the cute charming way. the base lodge cannot adequately handle the current number of visitors, just too small. I don't mind the slow lifts, keeps the trails less crowded. Elk is just an OK mtn and IMHO it gets too much hype for what it is. that said, it is def worth a day trip once in a while.
  10. some of the smaller trees around my office look like they are starting to think about changing color. baby steps, lol...
  11. you can keep your rain....i'll just take these temps!
  12. ok, it can start not feeling like mid-summer now.....

    Elk - 3/15/18

no offense to the deceased......but that is such a load of BS for rationale to close the trees. if that reasoning was valid, then every single ski area in the nation would have not tree skiing.
  14. apparently he knew how to schedule things just right, lol!
  15. sorry we couldn't make it today, looks like it was a great day for a party!
  16. Probably not. Got home super late after horrendous flight home. Gonna rest up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Day 7 - Snowbird Better snow, crowds. After 5 consecutive days skiing we were seriously debating staying at Alta for our final day and take it easy. But, we decided to finish the trip off at Snowbird. We took our time with breakfast and getting over to the hill. First up was a couple of warmups in mineral basin, then we made our way over to gad 2 area. We spent most of the morning exploring that terrain...lots of nice trees and bumps. Lunch was brats and sauerkraut at mid gad. Tasty tasty indeed. After lunch we headed up to the knucklehead traverse area and then over to the organgrinder area. We finished the day with a run down tiger tail and pearly gates. Few ppl were in that area, so we had nice chalky snow conditions. Overall it was a very good trip. Good snow and good ppl. Staying at GMD was the right call and will most likely stay there again when we return. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Day 6 - Alta Better snow, still sunny. Busy day exploring more of the supreme, sugarloaf, and backside areas. Day started out pretty cold, but warmed up quickly...snow was a bit stiff but softened nicely by mid-morning. We met up with another lady from the ski diva site and two random guys from GMD that we met in the hot tub days before. Good time skiing with them all. Tomorrow is either Alta or Snowbird.
