Just a little thread that we will be posting in when we get out to Utah to display our photos, videos, and stories. Just to let you know, its gonna be good. we are heading down to philly to drink tuesday night, leaving wednesday, skiing thurs-mon. and leaving monday afternoon. the forecast is already looking pretty stellar. i know its still a few days away, but when noaa is posting something like this, they mean business.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE NORTHERN THIRD OF UTAH

AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

WIDESPREAD VALLEY FOG WILL GRADUALLY DISSIPATE EARLY THIS

MORNING. THIS FOG COULD DEVELOP AGAIN TONIGHT...THOUGH THE AREAL

COVERAGE WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THAN THE NIGHT BEFORE.

EXTENSIVE MOISTURE ACROSS THE AREA ASSOCIATED WITH LOW PRESSURE

OVER THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WILL PRODUCE CLOUDY SKIES...BUT

LITTLE OR NO PRECIPITATION IN THE MOUNTAINS TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

A MAJOR CHANGE IN THE WEATHER PATTERN IS EXPECTED BEGINNING MONDAY.

A VERY MOIST WEST-SOUTHWEST FLOW ALOFT WILL BRING A SERIES OF

WEATHER SYSTEMS ACROSS THE AREA DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE WEEK.

VALLEY LOCATIONS WILL SEE PERIODS OF SNOW OR RAIN AND SNOW

MIXED...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY SNOWFALL IN THE MOUNTAINS.

INCREASING PRECIPITATION AND SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL END THE THREAT

OF OF FOG AND URBAN HAZE EARLY IN THE WEEK.

A STRENGTHEN TROUGH OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC LATE IN THE WEEK

WILL FOCUS HEAVY PRECIP ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL

PORTIONS OF THE STATE. SOME OF THIS HEAVY PRECIPITATION WILL WORK

INTO NORTHERN UTAH...THOUGH MOST OF THE SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION

WILL FALL AS SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS.

This Afternoon: Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 34 by 5pm. Light south southwest wind.

Tonight: Cloudy, with a low around 27. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.

Do you know which mountains you are going to hit or are you going to wait until you get out there to decide? Personally, I highly recommend making a visit to Snowbasin. Of the 4 places I hit last winter in Utah, that was my favorite.

I'm also out here with a friend for the week. You guys picked a good week to go. I was talking to a guy in the ski shop and he was saying they are expecting around 3ft of fresh this week. They definitely need it here too. I got out to Brighton yesterday, and Solitude today. Both places were a lot of fun, but there are rocks and shrubbery sticking out all over the place.

Some heads up on some ticket deals. Get your tickets at Canyon Sports. They have a couple locations, and savings are in the $5-12/per day. But an even better deal is available for Solitude. If you bring them 10 labels off 20oz vitamin water bottles, you can get a buy one get one free deal. So you'll end up getting a ticket for around $40, not too shabby.

Think I'm hitting Solitude again tomorrow, and then hitting the bird for the next couple days.

I cannot sit still at work... NOAA report below...

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

THIS ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREA

WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. MOUNTAIN LOCATIONS WILL RECEIVE HEAVY

AMOUNTS OF SNOW DURING THIS TIME...WITH THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS IN

AREAS FAVORED BY SOUTHWEST FLOW. PERIODS OF RAIN AND SNOW ARE

EXPECTED IN THE VALLEYS...WITH PRECIPITATION BECOMING MAINLY SNOW

LATE THIS WEEK.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL RETURN TO THE REGION LATE IN THE WEEKEND BUT IS

NOT EXPECTED TO PERSIST.

so to start the trip off right, we're sitting at my apartment, just got back from belgian cafe, and toast is passed out in the chair, and t*maki is near passed out on the sofa. flight leaves at 1230 tomorrow, so we'll probably hit up something really unhealthy for lunch so toast and kt can stink up the airplane. stay tuned...

Toast's farts should be declared WMD's. I feel for the people on the airplane.
