Kyle Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 hyyyype tomorrow should be a good day haha. got a little too warm out today. oh yeah if possible can we set more rails up urban? i felt like a lot of the stuff today was sitting far away from the lip. park crew kept everything 100% all day though even in the warm weather when stuff starts to get bombed so props to them.
mollyskeeze Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 i havent hit any of it yet but i think kyles talking about how its the same thing as urban but the rail just doesnt hang over the lip. east coast = hangs lip over rail west coast usually doesn't. once you get over the big gap factor its like the same.
Kyle Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 im talking about them being set up like this.
toast21602 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Then you miss half the fail. I hate that set up.
Kyle Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Then you miss half the fail. I hate that set up. im not saying to set every rail up like that but there are some rails in bears park that should be and can be set up like that.
toast21602 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 im not saying to set every rail up like that but there are some rails in bears park that should be and can be set up like that. I hear ya. But when I everything is like that it sucks man.
Kyle Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 I hear ya. But when I everything is like that it sucks man. i agree on that.
Justo8484 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 im talking about them being set up like this. tom, please don't ever do this. i know you know better. i hate to use boulder as an example... but you don't ever see anything set up like that up there. or at park city, or whistler, or... i think you get the idea. 1
mollyskeeze Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 (edited) its funny because bear is one of the only mountains around that sets stuff up like that. i guess they're making changes. it really doesn't matter to me. the rail shouldn't touch the lip or it should just barely meet it. you should never drop down on to a down rail though. i think that just feels super weird. burton71 Posted January 7, 2012 Author Report Posted January 7, 2012 tom, please don't ever do this. i know you know better. i hate to use boulder as an example... but you don't ever see anything set up like that up there. or at park city, or whistler, or... i think you get the idea. Whistler had some rails set up like that last year when I was there. Its is kind of fun because it gives you the option to ollie on or use the lip. Personally I dont care how they are setup because just about any setup can be fun.
skeer_tomas Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 I don't think I've ever set up a flat down like that... I know we've done a dual lip on one but not like that. That just looks like a waste of a flat down to me. 1
Kyle Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 I'm not saying to.set a flat down up like this. It would be nice to have a rail set up where the rail sits inside the lip a little bit. This is the only good picture on Google that I could find.
mollyskeeze Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 the down rail with the little flat thing at the beggining was like taht last season dfd was perfect today. i dont think that rail has ever been setup better. pretty much the whole park is super fun. i couldnt decide which line i wanted to keep hitting so i hit all of them adn theyre all sick. jump would ride a little better if it was more poppy but its fun.
Justo8484 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 probably coming up tuesday night. stoked to check bear out this year!
1337snowboarding Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 tom, please don't ever do this. i know you know better. i hate to use boulder as an example... but you don't ever see anything set up like that up there. or at park city, or whistler, or... i think you get the idea. This!
skeer_tomas Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 can i haz s rail? We're waiting on some vinyls. I think you guys will like it
Kyle Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 yesterday was a fun day to be in the park. got crowded but everyone was killing it. highlight of the day was when our 9 person park train turned into 15 people.
Kyle Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 I love a nice park train. A couple years ago at blue we had a 40 person train. Ours arent gaped trains.
mollyskeeze Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 trains were getting gnarly yesterday. everyone throwing stoney baloneys like it was their job. new second jump big hit rides awesome. havent hit the small side yet. first jump sucks now. needs to be poppier. its pretty much flat.
Mixilplix Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 First weekend with out the race team was nice........
Kyle Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 First weekend with out the race team was nice........ If only we could oust the gapers we'd be golden.
skitheEAST Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 can you keep some table tops all season? i like doing blunt slides across the top, or hand drags, or cool butter maneuvers. or jumping from take off to side of the jumps. and turtles, i like turtles
DinosaursInOuterspace Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Bear was a lot of fun this weekend. First jump was way better as a hip, and the candy cane rail and DFD were really good. Kyle, I agree with you about the down rails, but I brought that up last year to a pretty negative response as well so I don't really get it. But it was fun overall, great weather Saturday. Hopefully they don't get completely killed with the weather this week and could maybe get some more rails up.
