Johnny Law Posted January 30, 2015 Report Share Posted January 30, 2015 as stated earlier, i have different living desires than alot of people on this site. here are the reasons i personally think vermont sucks: 1. its rural as shit 2. alot of places you have to drive 30 minutes or so just to access basic amenities like grocercy stores, convenient stores, etc. 3. there are alot places there that dont get cell service 4. no major cities 5. no major sports teams 6. driving through vermont is incredibly depressing. 7. no diversity 8. no walmart 9. no billboards 10. its rural as shit 11. white trash (this is not exclusive to vermont) 12. its part of New England (new england may not be the worst section of the USA, but its probably the corniest) 13. people from Vermont think the weed there is fire, its not. 14. little to no public transportation 15. its full of liberals who claim they are for diversity, but choose to live in one of the most non-diverse states there is again, i know you guys could make a list like this for any state, but i was asked why i dont like vermont, and here we go. hahahah what's funny is half of those are why I like the state...... 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Same holds true for NH and ME. 6. driving through vermont is incredibly depressing if you prefer concrete and asphalt 7. no diversity if you dont count adopted chinese babies and the LGBT community 8. no walmart unless you drive thru Williston 9. no billboards, really, that's a negative? 10. its rural as shit 11. poor peeps are in most states in varying degrees of poverty. 12. its part of New England (new england may not be the worst section of the USA, but its probably the corniest because its the oldest part of the USA 13. people from Vermont think the weed there is fire, its not, because they're moving into shatter and oil which is way better. 14. little to no public transportation. See #1 but they manage to run buses from Burlington to Jeffersonville daily for commuters. 15. its full of liberals who claim they are for diversity, but choose to live in one of the most non-diverse states there is which isn't due to the lack of confederate flags waving and KKK meetings on Wed nites at Bubba's. If the push for diversity has done anything, its actually pushed diversity out the door in an effort to not offend anyone diverse. Same can be said about NH (Live free or die) and ME. I can say the same thing about most of PA except for a few of the metroploitan areas. again, i know you guys could make a list like this for any state, but i was asked why i dont like vermont, and here we go. Lots of diversity, 9mm, .38 special, 50 cal, AK-47 8. walmart 9. billboards 10. its shit 11. lots of trash, (people, streets) 12. its part of a state that actually has decent things to do outdoors, just not in the city, and it can be unbelievably hard to leave the city. 13. people from New York think they live on their own planet. 14. public transportation Like you said, to each his own. I wont question why you would want to live there, or call it stupid, its just that i personally dont see the draw to living in NYC. Thats my list of why i think NYC is shitty. I wont hate on Vermont. Barb Posted January 30, 2015 Report Share Posted January 30, 2015 Tp4 your tastes change as you age. 15 years ago I used to go to NYC once a month on the weekends. Loved the vibe, restaurants, shows etc. Then we bought a place in the Poconos and I started to favor the quiet and mountains on weekends. Now I live pretty close to downtown. Boulder isn't exactly a hot spot for culture, but I love everything it offers at this stage of my life. Great restaurants, outdoor recreation, eclectic mix of people with wildly different views. Oh yeah, and when I was a kid growing up in Ocean City I thought the beach was the absolute best thing in the world and I could never live without it. I remember getting lectured for throwing a plastic bottle in a garbage can..wow wasnt like I was littering the university of Vermont doesn't even sell bottled water on campus but they have a Ben and Jerry's you know cows get molested in the processing of ice cream. That is just wrong. Farmers squeeze at the cow titties until milk comes out and they don't even take em to dinner and a movie first. What ever happened to chivalry. I throw everything in the dumpster..I steak contractor bags from work which are awesome...garbage bags are expensive.
