JFBB Recruit Top Terrain Park Builders

so, papa what does this mean for cb? your contacts over there arent going to be happy. unless youre still staying up at northridge (or wherever)

i got the impression you are/were somehow involved with cb on a business level (because you said they 'asked you to stick around a while')

It's not too late for Nipples to choose which mountain he calls home - he skied CB more than other any other mountian - 16 days, he also skied whistler 15 days :P - I think he tells everyone BC is home mountain, 9 days - Ridge will ski out of CB under duress. Nipples will likely call BB home if I don't hear from CB soon.

Edit:

Sticking around had to do with selling the house at NorthRidge. There was serious consideration into doing that last season.

the statement about building 30 jibs by me had no sarcasm. thats not easy to do at all. thats alot of rails and boxes and other stuff to get welded

[/

thats really not a lot of work for any one who knows what they r doing unless all the rails are bent and there are no kinks or flat rails

Coming from a Mountain Creek local, I'm so stoked. I moved down to University of Delaware, and heard rumors this was coming. I had hoped Blue had recruited them but it was rumor they were going to the Poconos, and I knew it was BB, Blue, or Bear Creek (cuz Camelback wouldn't spend the money these guys want for sure, and Shawnee has a good manager already). BB is in for some good shit.

30 jibs in a summer is no big deal for them I'm sure, they build average 15 a year just to refresh mountain creek, at the minimum. They will build 4 or 5 for an event (example - Grand Prix rails every year, the Casino rail for that one jam session in Atlantic city). And if you think you won't have gap on rails in PA, well there wasn't a single ride on rail at MC last season in the main park, in fact it was all pretty much street style or like deathly gap so expect a big step up in the difficulty of the park and the size of hte jumps.

The big question is what happens to Mountain Creek? They will still have lots of good jibs but will it be groomed as well? Becuase a lot of mountains have good jibs and then suck

yea I dunno how hardcore it will be day 1. They did have 2 progression parks at mountain creek last year, with like 6-15 foot tables and ride on boxes and rails, and a little quarter pipe, it was like 5 rails and 3 jumps spread out on two trails. Then they had a medium line of 1 gap on box, 2 gap on downslope boxes, and a like 15 foot table. But the main park was like 40 foot rails with streetstyle setups, kinked rails, round rails, 40+ foot jumps, a 65 foot hip, wooden features, a 50 foot battleship box, 50 something foot down-flat-drop-down box, so I wouldn't be suprised by a shitload of hard rails in your park becuase I don't think they would have left to go and create a bunch of small park stuff, it was like you had to drag them kicking and screaming to make small features (which made me happy, becuase learning on small shit is good but if you make it too easy it dhttp://www.paskiandride.com/forums/style_images/pasr/folder_rte_images/image.gif

Insert Imageoesn't prepare you for big shit and u just get more hurt)

I hope all the jumps and lips to the rails are maintained just as well as in those pics. And yea...BB definately need a huge hip, preferably on the left so you land to the right of the lip. I was watching some crazy vids on www.snowboardermag.com and there was one with a rediculos hip, I'll dig up the link tomorrow in skool if anyone wants to see.

Not to hate or any thing on Mc or jib lab or anyone just want to give a few pointers.

But it seem like every sigle rail at Mc has a horrad lip theres barily any lip at all. I mean that migth be cool and all for snowboarders, but for skiers that the worst thing ever you can't spin onto it so i hope to see that at BB you set it up both ways so that it makes skier and snowwboarders happy.

please take that intto consideraction

I don't know there are a lot more skiers throwing down at mountain creek than snowboarders with spins on rails and off not to knock you nipples cuz ur a lot better than I was on skies but it might just be your height. I'm not sure how tall you are but when I was younger I couldn't jump nearly as high as I can now on skies or a snowboard. Once you get taller and stronger you can get a lot higher off the flat ground, especially if lift a lot. I'm in the gym or at practice 6 days a week all fall and spring and now in the winter I can get so much higher than even 2 years ago much less like middle school age. I've heard that complaint a lot from skiers though so I dunno, but I still say there are guys at mountain creek who throw down way harder than snowboarders on the jibs.

Now all I have to figure out is how far BB is from University of Delaware. Anyone know?

BB is a solid 135 - 150 minute drive from UD - BTW we are in Landenberg. we will be heading for BB frequently.

As far as MC goes. The day we were there must have really sucked comparitively, your comment is not the first we have heard along those lines. NIpples was in the nextsnow comp and he was the only skier out of 35 contestants. It was a lame, probably rigged comp. Nipples was the only one to even hit an urban rail let alone clean it. What made it even more hilarious was the skier judge who tried to hit the same rail, busted his ass on it. BTW the MC kid that qualified for the Killy finals was way down in the pack.

lifting your leading edge of a board onto a rail with forward momentum is easy compared to having to jump on with skis. all the lips to those rails were set for boarders, yeah skiers can hit them but only the best of the best would try. There were only maybe 1 out of 20 in the park that day that skied and they certainly weren't hitting any rails that we saw.

Edit: Here is the comment I wrote in the stat manager:

Mountain Creek, NJ

Mountain Creek, NJ 1/15/06 8 6,400 Edit

Extremely windy one run open - bought park pass to make for 2 runs - triple chair only, 20 minute lift lines - stupidest nextsnow comp yet, expected top shelf from Intrawest... WHAT A WASTE FOR NIPPLES TO WANT TO REP THAT HILL - live and learn

BTW - BB staff if you are reading this, Nipples wanted to represent Mountain Creek at the Next Snow Finals Competition because of the positive reputation of the park. We found something very different on the day (Jan 15th '06) we were there compared to what we had heard and were expecting.

I dont think bb will ever bypass blues jump size, but im sure they will MAjorly bypass blue in park quality. U hit a 70ft jump at boulder and ur at the end of ur run. Till u get enough speed for it and jump the distance itd be a waste. boulder new rails are gonna be killer, totally better than anything blue could produce. Look at blues staircase last season. They got it out madd early and everyone thought it was the greatest, till they seen what boulder had in store... And il be the first one to clean there new 100ft rail this year. this season is gonna be sick. BB REPRESENT.

any chance you can get a picture of this rail?

Trans world put it on there front page news - it's the same press release. They are not hesitating to hype it up, for sure.
