  1. I skied Spring Mountain last night more for the nostalgia than the skiing. I learned to ski there and try to get back once a year but it's been a few years. Conditions were dust on crust but edge-able. Lift line on the west side was ski-on or a chair or two wait. I had heard that they had an All Weather snowmaking system. This was the first time I saw it and it was blowing out "snow" at 45 degrees. I think it is essentially a sno cone machine inside that blows the shavings out onto the slopes. The production was low and it appears that it would take a long time to cover a slope. When I left around 7:00 there were a lot of kids in well organized group lessons on the main slope. Good to see that they are doing well. SMI All Weather Snowmaking Video.MOV

  2. Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot around 830am and it was 31 degrees in the valley and 36 at the summit entrance…mad inversion Yo! In the house were Atomic Jeff, TP4, C1er and the Bethlehem ford crew. First run on Main Street was soft packed powder on the top and firmer below but very smooth..you didn’t have to stay in your lane. Second run was nightmare ti dreamweaver very very nice groomed packed powder. Third run was challenge, not as good as Tuesday but still real nice, fourth run repeat of challenge. Fifth run skied Widowmaker which was ok to chute which was nice to lower Main Street. Sixth run skied challenge again. Seventh run was Coming soon which had some mini cookies and kind of slick, 8th run was lazy to the falls which was excellent smooth and empty, 9th run nightmare to dreamweaver and 10th and final run I repeated lazy to the falls again. Crowds were light and mellow and there were about 6 school buses and lots of kids on the learning hill. JADIP

  3. It's a beautiful evening. Orion can be seen in the sky overlooking the quad. Not crowded. Snows ok. Slick in between sugar piles. Not deep sugar thankfully. I'm Probably the oldest person here. In fact Two school group kids on the lift asked me how long I've been skiing...I told the 30 plus years. And they were like wooah. I said I'm in my 40s and they turned around and said that I'm older than their dad's. If that wasn't depressing enough I skied down to seal blasting at the base. Fun night but Idk i don't think night sessions are for me anymore. Happy to be skiing though...but yeah

  5. And why we keep returning to Jackson hole is for a chance at this. I’ve had Pow days at big sky and Bridger bowl and Loveland and stowe but nothing compares to the JH steep Pow combo except maybe Aspen lol only cause I had four Pow days there

  7. Some spring conditions at BC tonight....Pretty firm under a nice layer of snow cone stuff....You could really ride the turn....On snow about 4:30.....Couple of buses/courtyard packed...But little action on the hill...After an hour the lift line started to get annoying .....Rode another half hour and out at six....Fantastic snow and got some good turns in....

  10. I was there today, skied from about 930-230, I thought the snow was better than yesterday, not so many cookies. Challenge, TCS, Lazy and Chute all very nice. Did Razors once, 1st head wall very slick, but other than that pretty good. I wasn’t going to risk it yesterday, it looked like a glacier. I’m really liking my new skis, probably the best skis I’ve ever owned.

  11. Nice late pm session at the BC...Snow is gradually coming back to decent conditions....at least on the F chair side...The usual slick spots...but for the most part everything was pretty easy to get an edge in...I think they were able to make some snow last night....More people there tonight than there has been in the past...Never really waited too long... @antman12 I look for you every time I'm there....

  13. The past 3 days have been perfect. Great snow, great weather and great company.

  14. The mornings have been improving. Conditions softened up nicely early today, but no sugar piles.

  16. Yeah white lightning is a fun trail but definitely not 1000 ft vertical. It was in great shape Saturday. Groomed nicely and not icy

  17. This data is from the top of WL, at boomer, to the bottom. None the less, bad info, bad intel, poor math converting from metric to standard, or Canadian, whatever, its a fun run. you had best be able to put the brakes on quick at the bottom.

  18. I know you knew that with your roll eyes emoji. My comment was directed at the author spreading the fake news. Maybe he reads PASR

  19. I know that but somebody should tell the author. It appears he doesn't actually know what vertical drop means. Obviously, there is no proof reading or editing anymore. From a quick look at a topographical map the headwall is about 200 vertical feet.

  20. Wow! White Lightning is 1000 vertical feet! He actually says it twice. 🙄

  21. Empty, no racers, BFG and C1er in the house. Rode with Jack and Erik. When I arrived they had mad guns on and the cloud was in full effect, I figured it would correspondingly suck hairy ball sack but I was totally wrong. First run down Main I was still working on believing it was good but just an absolute carpet to arc arc arc. We followed it up with NMDW and while not perfect it was 95%, you can really honk on the turn and hit the two booters with so much speed. Challenge was next and was as good as Challenge gets, super high speed carves into big launches off falls. Rotd was Widow, le chute, lower. Chute was primed for launch and unsurprisingly the pilot was throwing shifties out in the stratosphere. It was so good we rode it like 5 times in a row just extracting every ounce of float possible. I had an absolutely must be done at 11 but between the sublime weather and booterrific conditions I used every last second. Razors was just ok, the colder snow meant the blown shit went to small cookies and coming soon was a shit field of cookies but it didn't matter one of the best mornings this year for sure.

  22. yesterday afternoon's flat light and variable surface had me skiing very spazzy, got better as the light came on and sun went down.

  24. I’ve skied probably 50 other mountains before and I return to Jackson hole the same time every year…so yes I visit other mountains but always Jackson hole every year except I didn’t go in 2021. I like knowing my way around, knowing where the best snow, best restaurants are..savvy shit…and every trip when I leave Jackson hole I feel like I have unfinished business. Even thinking of returning in late March/early April.

  26. Today was le tits part deux, Challenge was even better than yesterday with a little more stiffness it could hold against the ski. When Challenge is good two days in a row its like I must be having a stroke and all of this is in my mind. It's so much fun to truck down that mother getting airs and ripping big arcs. I didn't mind the herky jerkey stuff probably becuase they are already slow with no wax so I was really enjoying upper main and especially NWDW. There is enough room even if you dont want to get booter Crunk but it's soooo nice to formation fly and get a bit blue angels. Le chute continues to be prime and I got one decent launch today. Weather was perfect, great crew and good snow........ shit was a dream on Monday but two days in a row I must be on peyote.

  28. I had a few days just as this crew departed and it was pretty much more of the same type of weather. Of course with my luck as I depart the snow arrives. 🥲 i feel bad cause I did not realize 49er is literally across the street from Mountain Modern. I would have stopped by to say Hi. 😔 @GrilledSteezeSandwich i had a French speaking crew on Mountain Modern bus offering everyone an early morning flask swig. They were from Montreal and I was invited up Tremblant anytime. They could really drink lol Another guy from Exton, PA was staying out there ski bumming for three weeks. How I wish I could get that to happen for me. 🙏 Headwall and anything in Casper was closed during my stay. It is what it is. There is always next year. By Friday people were going out gates and my group had a short discussion about going up Cody. The intel was it was chalky snow up top but the bottom third of Rock Springs was a miserable sheet of ice heading back into the Hobacks. Deal breaker So alot of our days started at Casper where the piste runs were groomed AM not PM. Not the steeps you want at JH but fun edgeable snow. The fog layer seemed to stay away from there. Early lunch then over to Thunder and Sublette for some corn snow mogul laps around Ten Sleep, Cirque, Laramie area. I don’t have pics yet but some North Trees were decent lines also cause hardly anyone was going in there and well when visibility was good it was nice. Pic from Top Looking North I believe . Pretty big crown (red highlight) and slide path below it from earlier in week. those rocks behind us at Sublette sign should be mostly snow covered looks like April not early February It was fun times regardless of conditions Teton Thai up at the Bilkage had some really delicious food. I recommend, just get there before 530pm before the rest of the gsper hoards.

  29. @saltyant nice report. Next time go in the woods or don’t wash your hands. What did you do after skiing that you had to change into your street clothes?? Perhaps you had jury duty

  30. The Lifts: Good: Those JH lifts boot you up there…and the entire trip maybe 3-4 two minutes or less stops. Was mostly ski on..not many liftlines I don’t count if it’s like 10 chairs or less that’s just a chance to unbuckle boots and wipe sweat from brow. When it was a little busy when skiing solo late morning, I never waited over like 3 minutes in a singles line and would have been less but some really skittish people in the singles line and dumbass snowboarders who need to be on the outside. Everybody pulls the bars down now…there used to be pushback from the locals years ago and on short lifts like Teton and Teewinot, I often just went with the flow while gripping the lift for dear life lol. Bad: the oil was drip drip dripping on peoples ski stuff the one day mostly on Mute and Atomic Jeff from I think the Sublette chair or maybe thunder. Ugly…the look on the faces of two employees when I was about to board the gondola they were on..so then I held up and got to ride up with my homeys.

  31. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly…. Good: Comfortable temperatures. Bad: No powder days although I’ve had at least 30 Pow days at JH before. Ugly: My foot early in the trip which caused me to skip the Hobacks…the boys even wanted to see it.. Good: The Crew…only thing that would have made this trip better would have been surprise appearances from Toast and Nazareth Jay. NMSki is always fun and may have the best demeanor of anybody I know. He’s a very polite guy and when I slipped on ice yesterday and ate shit, he even waited to laugh until he knew I was ok. I goof on Mute sometimes but it’s all in good fun, he’s a super nice guy and his skiing has improved tremendously since he skied JH with us four years ago. His Big Dick energy inspires me to be more active. Dirtwolfs first trip to JH and despite a bout of food poisoning, he got knocked down but got up again and made the best of his time in JH, a super laidback go with the flow kind of guy, and not fussy at all. And Atomic Jeff, like the strict dad I never had…has almost as many days at JH as me and PASRs resident Sommelier..and perhaps one of my biggest fans lol Bad: Service at some restaurants..JH is the only place starters arrive at the same time as entrees…or just sit for 15 minutes before you even get water, it’s almost comical..but It’s not easy being a service worker in one of the most expensive ski towns in America. Ugly: People in the airport and on the plane with crutches…
