  1. Do I need avalanche gear and training if I stay on groomed runs?
  2. If I pick CO over VT do I get to wear the hat?
  3. Hmmm you make a compelling argument...
  4. Last year at Stowe someone on the lift with me who had skied out west said the Vermont mountains were tiny compared to Colorado, and they were disappointed and bored.
  5. If I could cancel my VT hotel I would definitely go west. But VT is still rad to ski, just as long as there's no rain. I fear if I ski out west I'll never want to ski in VT again.
  6. Dont worry I'm going out west within the next 12 months, and took a ton of notes.
  7. I have til 8 pm tonight to decide, flight cancellation deadline. Now it's supposed to be cloudy in VT. Still really want to go to CO, maybe in March but most likely next season. Definitely 100% going there next year though.
  8. Nah. Now I Iearned how to fly with ski gear. Thanks everyone!
  9. Probably Stowe and then Elk with you guys. After sleeping on it I don't know if I can live with wasting a $300 prepaid hotel reservation. It's going to be great!
  10. Only like 10 ski days or something. No weed for me though.
  11. What gave you the impression that I'm indecisive?
  12. Booked American Airlines, non-stop from PHL to DEN, and only paid $16.60. This is great!!!
  13. the $117 flight wasn't coming up and it went up to $600 but now it's back as an option so I think I'ma book it really quick. Before it goes away again.
  14. I have no clue what I'm doing. Maybe go to Stowe and ski in rain? Maybe to go Utah and pay extra for a flight? Maybe fly a red-eye Frontier flight and pay for both a carry on and checked bag? Maybe all of the above in the same week?? Big thanks to Enjorales for offering to lend me his ski bag!
  15. Thanks!!! I change my mind every 30 seconds during this intense planning. Some of those seconds I just say fudge this, I'm not going. But I think I'll still go. I'll start a thread so the weather junkies can get back to weather discussions. How 'bout these temps???
  16. American's policy states: "Your boot bag can be up to 45 inches (length + width + height) and must contain only boots/bindings, helmet and life preserver. If you put anything else in your boot bag, you’ll have to pay an excess bag fee. You may be asked to open your bag at the airport." Sorry to the weather thread for threadjacking. I'll make a trip thread eventually.
  17. American Airlines says the bag can only be up to 45 inches. This bag is 47.5. Are they going to charge me $100+ extra or some BS if it's not exactly 45 inches? I didn't buy it yet.
  18. I didn't understand how boot bags work so I took 2 different brand boots off the shelf and put them in the boot bag (see below). Wasn't sure how the helmet fits until the shopkeeper told me the boots go on the sides. First gaper move of my 2019 trip.
  19. Yeah my flight on American will only cost me $17 plus $60 to check my boots helmet and RTM. I made a funny gaper move at Buckmans, I'll post the pic when i get free wifi in a half hour
  20. I like having my own equipment cause I hate having to stand in line to rent, especially if I want to go to multiple ski resorts
