  1. I try to get one a season just to satiate myself because of the aroma.
  2. Blue has no love for that trail, but it's the most fun since it follows the contours of the mountain. I think all the snowmaking on it is the old manual guns, so I'm sure the snowmakers hate it, having to check the snow quality/adjust the guns periodically. I know the groomers don't like it much either because of all the turns and drops, which makes it great for sliding.
  3. The only reason I speed checked was because there were people sliding down on their asses (probably Antman :-)) the first time over. I didn't want to hit anyone, so speed check was a must. Chute was the same. I came over the lip and there was a boarder sitting right there in the middle of the slope. Pocono powder scraped off down to ice and a million stupid high school kids with no ability to negotiate the conditions made for one interesting evening at Blue.
  4. Blue should install one to get from the valley to the summit lodge.
  5. Get some fatter skis and blast right over/through the Pocono perder!
  6. Wait, who is on this trip? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks so much for reminding us, as if we’ve not been skiing the same trails over and over and over again. ;-) At least Tarpon escaped from Groundhog Day for a while! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah, don't get kidnapped and taken to the underground tunnels!
  9. We used to go to Chili's fairly frequently, then just gave it up. I liked the chicken covered in BBQ sauce platter.
  10. Yeah, we got some good snow on that trip which will make pretty much anywhere a lot of fun, but overall PC is pretty disappointing compared to Alta and Snowbird, IMO. Personally I wouldn't go to Utah to do PC again.
  11. Just what I like to see, currently 41 in Palmerton and that's gonna be the high for the day at 5AM.
  12. Always loved driving past the haunted house at the top of the hill when I was a kid going up to see my grandmother in Nesquehoning.
  13. However, the new modeling (FV3) that wasn't out earlier, has it hitting, which of course will happen because I have to go to Chicago that day...
  14. Bummer, looks like GFS has it tracking to the South of us as of right now...
  15. I read that they're taking steps to improve the air quality (moving buses to natural gas/electric), but I think they've got a pretty long road to hoe.
  16. Precipitation just started falling here with a weird mix of heavy rain with giant snowflakes mixed in. WTF is going on this year???
  17. I believe it's still within the valley area, as the mountains are immediately to the East. https://www.sltrib.com/news/environment/2018/01/09/utahs-air-quality-is-sickening-even-killing-locals-year-round-new-research-suggests/
  18. Would absolutely love to live in Alta.
  19. Yeah, been looking for places after son graduates and I love Utah, but the air quality in Salt Lake area gets to unhealthy levels during inversions that can last for weeks. Salt Lake City is a valley surrounded by mountains and when the winds die down and cold air sets in, the smog just lingers over the city. Friends that used to live out there moved out because of it. I hear it's really bad for those with respiratory problems. Spectacular place to visit, but I wouldn't live there.
  20. Yeah, that's what @AtomicSkier said. I didn't think it would kick that fast, but SS 2.0 brought everyone out, so I'm not surprised.
  21. I'm so mad at myself for missing out. Thinking ahead (yeah I don't like wishing my season/life away, but those who fail to plan...), perhaps put in a request for him to brew up something special for season end party?
