  1. With projected lows in the 20's, they better be running the guns every minute they can! Hopefully that's their "solid plan ahead"...
  2. It was crazy! Entire sky lit up a continuous glow with some flashes, then the thunder started rolling through.
  3. Good morning to you also! Did you happen to see/hear the thundersnow earlier?
  4. Wife got within about 2 miles of home, following plow truck (of course, probably too close as she doesn't comprehend that you need to give people room in front of you in case they get stuck on hill). The plow truck got stuck, so instead of trying to go around with her momentum, she stopped. She's a nurse and just wanted to get home. I sent her a picture of Google traffic of Bethlehem before she left which was just all red. She should have just stayed over at the hospital. Unable to get going again, she calls me to help! Plow truck driver had her and someone else behind her back down the hill so they all could get a running start. Yeah, keyboard warriors are just idiots claiming that roads should have been treated, yada, yada, yada. Storm overproduced and no amount of treatment is gonna help 6" of snow. I also know they treated the roads around here because I was out Wed. night and saw them treating. Timing of the heavy snowfall, everyone leaving work early, inability to drive in snow, packing the snow into a sheet of ice were all the culprits. Once the snow is packed down on roads and there's gridlock, plows are helpless to do anything.
  5. Wife sat in traffic on 3rd street for 3 hours. Heard there was a truck stuck trying to get up the little hill in front of casino.
  6. Looks like they extended the snow period 4 hours. Yesterday I saw they had it switching over to rain by 3pm around here.
  7. Probably not. Have a lot of stuff already booked. I also find having to push myself down their slopes annoying, even if there is no pow.
  8. Guess they figure Mother Nature is going to do all the work for them...
  9. It was 25, clear and very little humidity the other morning and they didn't have the guns going... It's all based on speculation.
  10. I like the 250 hPa level to show the jet stream to give an idea as to if it's going to bring down the arctic cold. https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/250hPa/orthographic=-81.43,45.37,716
  11. I still see white on Vista (just a bit on the far side camera shot), which again boggles my mind why they didn't blow anything at all on lower Main Street??
  12. At least the water table will be high for the springs to feed the retention ponds...
  13. I think initial production is always going to be difficult because the ground still has a lot of residual heat that the new snow has to overcome. This is why I don't understand Blue's methodology, since they have the capacity to blow, why don't they at least try to get something down to help cool the ground and begin insulating that cold ground even if there's some rain in the forecast. Many of the guns are automated, so even if the temp/dew point is marginal, the system will take care of making the decision. All they need to do is fire up the pumps and compressors and the system will do the rest.
  14. It was 25' and crystal clear skies this morning and no guns going. What's up with that? Are they just teasing us?
  15. Probably been on skis before he could walk... Also looks like he's got an older friend who can also ski the shit out of the mountains teaching him.
