Barney's was quite skiable right from the get-go. Surprised they set them, but pretty easy for bumping the trail count. A bit chunky from the cat tracks, but they broke down quick and with the warming temps, they skied in nicely. Hopefully the rain doesn't take the troughs down to the dirt.

I heard that they upgraded the pass system over the summer. Sounds like the database transfer didn't go as planned.

Tons. I'd say like 80% didn't work. They were writing down people's names whose passes didn't work. Not sure what, if anything, they were gonna do with the lists.

I just don't think they want to commit to opening up Main Street for fear they can't for whatever reason. Always better to under promise and over deliver than the opposite...

Need this cloud cover to dissipate. I heard too that smoke from the wildfires in CA have made it all the way out here! Not sure if that's a good thing (keep sunlight down) or a bad thing (cover the area like a blanket).

Sometimes you have to practically hug the readers at Blue to get them to read. Such a PITA in the morning when the stupid reader doesn’t read the pass and your left standing there until the operator manually opens the gate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Funny, the wife said the PennDOT plow driver that got them all stuck had a Jamaican accent. Have no idea whether he was living there a year ago or not.

We had studded tires back then too! Learning on rear-wheel drive cars made us better drivers. I was just looking around this morning for a set of emergency chains. Problem I have the majority of the time is everyone else. I'll leave quite early to get to Blue and there'll be nobody on the roads until I catch up to someone who really shouldn't be out (well neither should I, but that's beside the point), driving all of 10 MPH and refused to pull over, even though I'm (somewhat) close to them to urge them to.

It was crazy! Entire sky lit up a continuous glow with some flashes, then the thunder started rolling through.
