Place is going right down the Aquashicola...

IIRC, they didn't even drive over the whales at the top of upper Main or Tuts on Saturday afternoon.
-
I noticed that too. She's cutting costs at every corner...

I did see some fairly good-sized whales on it, but it's hard to say from the double chairs if there's enough to cover the trail. Like others have said, we ski thinner cover in the springtime, so they don't really need to go edge-to-edge either.

There were rumors floating around Saturday that they may open upper Main Street on Friday. We shall see... Guess it all depends on how much they lost during the deluge Sunday and the warm temps this week. It would be nice if they did to take a lot of heat off Midway.

Chicken heads! I forgot about that one.

Round 2 wasn't much better and the snow really didn't change a whole lot, if at all. It was softening up a bit at the very top, but everything below was still mad sugar. However, with the sun lighting up Midway and lower Main, the sugar piles were actually kinda fun.

Had a friend fall into a tree well at Jay and he was even skiing with a companion. I always have a whistle in my jacket pocket, even if I'm skiing w/ friend(s).

Be sure to get up to Strawberry Park hot springs, preferably on a clear night to see more stars than you thought imaginable.

Lots of lines though!

+1 on the Chronics, that's what I had (still have). Personally I like Line skis for the East coast, as I have a pair of Sick Days that I also love. They work well for me in all the conditions at Blue, but they're kinda chatty in the tip when the marbles come out. A lot of other have also gone to Salmon QSTs, which are probably better in marbles as they have a stiffer front end.

I only had a pair of TTs for when I was teaching my son to ski, so that I could monitor him. Once he learned to ski, I got regular downhill skies and don't even use the TTs anymore and they're shot. Most of the bumper have two sets, regular downhill and a pair of mogul skis specifically for the bumps. @tarponhead and I think @zzslope swear by Blizzards, as I think those have been getting pretty good accolades for all mountain skis lately. They probably have some opinions on them as well.

Is there a reason you're hung up on twin-tips? You state that you're not into park or big jumps, not that Blue has any anymore, so that would indicate that you're not going to be skiing switch very much, if at all. You also say you're looking for length, speed, aggressive, which with twin-tips, you're loosing length and TTs tend not to be meant for speed or aggressive skiing, they tend to be more noodles than planks. Also, depending on what terrain you're going to skin, TTs can be more of a hindrance than a help. The turned up tails in the bumps causes all sorts of headaches, ask me how I know. Skiing TTs with friends makes you an annoyance, mainly because of the rooster-tail of ice, snow, etc. they throw up behind you, but if that's what you're looking for, go for it. Not trying to dissuade you, but just throwing out some thoughts.

Pocket beers only. Blue's too small to warrant a backpack. Nobody says anything, unless you're being stupid or overly intoxicated.

I've heard tell of people being asked not to tailgate (cook food, grill) in the upper lot after the valley has opened, but it may also be due to how tight the roadways are up there.
