poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 I'm looking to get something before the PA season starts in November. After test driving everything, I don't love anything. What should I buy? I don't care about cost or gas mileage.
poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 How is the new expedition compared to the old ones. We just got rid of an 07 expedition for a 15 Tahoe. That's why I'm looking for a mid size. I did like the explorer sport.
poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 I didn't even think of Volvo. I will check them out.
poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 70 looks like a wagon, 90 is better but the 2015 doesn't come out till spring. I want something in less than 60 days when the PA season starts.
mbike-ski Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 The best skiers on the mountain drive 4runners 2
poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 That TRD Pro looks nice Mbike. What do the best 40 year old snowboarders drive?

Justo8484 Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 Had a new explorer as a rental in Utah two seasons ago that was quite nice. Plenty of room for 5 + gear, not horrendous on gas, comfy seats, the whole nav/Bluetooth deal, and what seemed like decent 4wd. I wouldn't take one over a Toyota, Subaru or Volvo in serious snow, but it was a pretty nice vehicle for a week.
JFskiDan Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 4runner. hands down best vehicle i ever owned. Sold it with 160k on the odo..i still see it running around. The 2 Exploders we had here at work never made it past 100k, before they were junk. Shit just fell off of them randomly, bizarro electrical issues.
poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 I'm definitely checking out the toyotas and volvos.
Barb Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) I have had a ford my last 4 vehicles and have been very happy with them. Right now I have an Edge but admit it's cramped when I take boys and their friends skiing with all the gear. May have to look into a Thule box for the top. The Explorer was the perfect size. burton71 Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 Cayenne...if you don't care about price.
poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 There's a new edge redesign coming this fall I'll check it out.
toast21602 Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 I like trains choo choo Me too. Here's three old PBNE engines running the IM yard in bethlehem yesterday. 1
RootDKJ Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 Volvo XC60. Comfortable seats for long drive, plenty of storage options, good sound system and solid AWD system. Go for the turbo.
poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 I like it root. Lots of cool features like adaptive cruise control.
Justo8484 Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 I like it root. Lots of cool features like adaptive cruise control.new subarus have most of those features as well. iSight is absolutely awesome 1
poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 Are the 15 edges out yet? I think they are a re-design.
moe ghoul Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 I just hit a full grown deer with my 2012 Honda Pilot around 2:30 today, and the car was driveable.
poconoceancity Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 I hope you're alright moe. That's a plus in my book.
toast21602 Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 I just hit a full grown deer with my 2012 Honda Pilot around 2:30 today, and the car was driveable. Well that's a stoke stomper.
moe ghoul Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 Thanks, I'm ok, it happened in the last place I'd expect about 5 blocks from my house. I was driving slow anyway, so the deer took a skid and tumble on the street after we hit and then ran off. Hoping it didn't get banged too hard and recovers, not some slow painful death. But the front end got banged up, so I'm off to the body shop tomorrow morning. Another $500 up in smoke for a deductible.
RootDKJ Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 I just hit a full grown deer with my 2012 Honda Pilot around 2:30 today, and the car was driveable.I hit one with my XC60 March 2012. Volvo's are like tanks. I didn't feel any impact when I hit it. I saw the creature fly through the air, but I still had to get out of the car to be sure. It was weird. Then I felt bad that I couldn't shoot it. [emoji379]
poconoceancity Posted September 20, 2014 Author Report Posted September 20, 2014 I drove the new ml 350 today. It's very nice. The new C class caught my eye. It's not a ski car, but it would be fun to have. Decisions, decisions, decisions?
