Popular Post NMSKI Posted March 5, 2021 Popular Post Report Share Posted March 5, 2021 I woke up early this morning since it was snowing and had a big drive to Monarch and they were reporting 1 inch as of 5:30, but it dumped for a few hours and we had a nice 6” of fresh in the morning and major dumpage from late morning through the rest of the day. Lots of nice powder turns and the first pow day my kids have experienced. What a cool little mountain Monarch is. It’s not that big and has small vert but the vibe was amazing and there was some really fun terrain. Nice steep runs from the top of panorama along the continental divide and some nice trees as well. I hiked Mirkwood, which is the “side country” area there and between the fresh and wind deposited snow I was getting knee deep in spots.
