  1. Nah couldnt have been that much. I don't want to add up the costs and I'm afraid to check my portfolio.
  2. Here is a great thread about Montage that I remember reading back before I started posting on here.
  3. Yep, that's why on that powder day I left Montage and went to CB. At Montage just felt like I was riding lifts all day long instead of skiing.
  4. At Montage, you pretty much have to ski either the top half or the bottom half of the mountain. Top-to-bottom runs are fun but it takes so damn long to get back up to the top. Long Haul doesn't always run, so then you need to take Phoebe Lift and ski down the narrow cat track to Iron Horse to get back up to the top. Takes forever. Most people ski the bottom half because, as you found out, that's where all the best terrain is. Their blue trails are, IMO, the least trafficked blue trails in the Poconos. Last year they never even opened Upper Fasttrack and Runaway. All the green and blue trails basically feel the same with little variation - just a straight shot down to the lift with 1 or 2 short steeper sections. The blacks, on the other hand, have a lot more variety and many consider them the best expert terrain in PA. Glad you got to check out Montage, but yeah, 2 hrs 30 minutes is a long drive considering how many other options you have.
  5. Thanks. It was a great trip but just wasn't feeling like skiing today with the giant crowds.
  6. Just had enough skiing for a while. I like it but I'm not as passionate about it as everyone on here. Plus I got spoiled from virtually crowdless skiing all week (except Thursday morning), so when I saw the long lines at 9:30 I felt it was time to move on and return home after scoring a killer sale.
  7. I think the guy who bought the ticket was just desperate to get out on the snow instead of standing in the ridiculously long line. If Killington had a more efficient process for buying a lift pass, it might be much harder to sell a used ticket. At Camelback people complain because they buy a pass online and still have to stand in line for 20 minutes. Not sure what Killington does but I imagine it's the same thing, unless you buy a direct to lift ticket like I did. I know we all want the mountains to be profitable, and I know it's expensive as hell to run a mountain. But I have zero guilt because mountains price gouge customers at any opportunity they can. Not even talking about just the lift pass, but the $20 buffalo chicken wrap and $15 for preferred parking, and rentals, lessons and so on. So It works both ways. That's the great thing about free market capitalism.
  8. Well did a few runs and sold my ticket for $60. Not bad considering I paid $85 for it and got a few fresh runs. Also made some guys day because I just saved him $55 and 20 minutes of standing in line. It was an easier sell at Snowshed because the line was so long for tickets. K1 no one was interested and I got yelled at by an undercover Killington agent. Probably because I went up to the window and asked how much a ticket was so I could set my price accordingly, and then they saw me panhandling. Sales is not my strong point so I'll leave that field open for people like Steeze who can sell ice to an igloo or whatever the saying is.
  9. Well the final day has arrived. Sitting in K1 lodge waiting for FirstTrax to start to get fresh off the gondi. Not enough snow fell to cover the cord tho so not too crowded yet. Got a pretty good parking spot, not the best, and it required slightly more walking than yesterday to Ramshead. Booted up at the car successfully so I can just go directly to the car when I call it quits. Will start on Great Northern and Maybe some Snowdon trails and Patsys woods. If it gets too crowded might go to Pico or might not.
  10. Good post. Not sure what a WC horn is. My enjoyment of skiing varies. Today it was pretty good but not excellent like Tuesday. Definitely better than 2 weeks ago. My interest depends on how I'm doing. If I'm skiing like a bum then it's not fun, regardless of what mountain I'm at and what the snow is like. If I'm skiing excellent like I do sometimes then it's the funnest thing in the world. IDK. I always try to get that fun feeling but I realize you can't force it and it just has to come naturally. But lately if I'm not as into it, I just try to take a step back and enjoy a long cruiser and the passing scenery at high speeds and try not to take it or anything too seriously.
  11. That's for the Value Pass which is good for any day except before 3 on weekends before March 1. That's what I had last year before they unveiled the new Hero Pass, so then I upgraded to that.
  12. All the lifts were running. Only made one top-to-bottom run from the top of K-1 to Great Eastern. It's fun but gets tiring and the gondola line was too damn long, whereas there were no lines for any other lifts. Spent most of the day riding the Bear Mountain and Skyeship quads. Lots of mogul practice. By noon I don't think there was a single blue run without moguls. Ran Skyeburst, Skyelark, Bittersweet, High Road, and Bear Claw a lot. Also tried some glades off Bear Cub a few times, which was fun. Didn't even need to take my skis off. I always stay in bound and adhere to the rules, so no need to worry about me going out of bounds and getting buried (sorry toast and JF Dan). Overall a fun day. Better than yesterday but not as good as Mon-Wed at Stowe. Didn't do any gaper things today (sorry tarponhead) other than got out of control on a narrow, crowded, moguled section leading into Great Eastern off the Skyeship quad. Reminded me of this video: http://unofficialnetworks.com/2016/11/10/watch-old-school-mogul-skiing-was-out-of-control/
  13. Nah man their season pass is $899 in season and $599 pre-season. Wow what a bargain.
  14. I don't know, $300 for an unlimited Camelback season pass would probably be too good of a bargain to pass up. Toast and JF Dan will probably start a petition.
  15. Wew good thing I check all forums to see what gossip about me is out there today.

Thought You're bringing finger sandwiches to PASR Camelback day??
  17. Doesn't look like they have a soup salad and bread buffet.
  18. The Mountain Inn. I did notice the mountain sports inn on my drive here and remembered someone mentioning it on here.
  19. Thanks JLaw. I'll reply later tonight when im on my laptop cuz it's easier to type. Sitting in Ramshead lodge waiting for the Wobbly Barn to open so I can get the $15 salad soup and bread buffet.

Where? You have to skate a little to King Tut and Hump but that's like it. Stevenson side has no skating at all.
  21. The Mountain Inn. Yes the breakfast is free. And Its only 2 minutes from Ramshead. Pretty crowded but tolerable. Short lift lines on most lifts, and often no line at all. Im sure theres 500 people in line for K1 gondola. Skiing is pretty good on the Skyeship and Bear Mountain trails. Been practicing moguls. Might head back over to Snowdon and ski there. Seems like no one goes over there. Had a chocolate waffle but they put too much damn chocolate syrup on it so now my hands are messy. Not sure if I want to come back tomorrow. It will probably be a zoo. Might go to Pico for a few runs and then return to NEPA.

Glad you're having the time of your life at Camelback Shadows. Check out Cliffhanger if you get a chance. It's a really fun double black and never gets boring. About 800 feet of vert and no up hill segments. Also Marjie's is a really good black diamond, probably the best in the Poconos.

Who gives a damn about the water park lol. Montage has a water park and no one ever complains about that. That's cool you guys like the longer runs at Blue, I understand that, but the water park issue is kind of ridiculous. Just saying!
