  1. I think I'll join you guys tomorrow if I can bum a buddy pass from someone. More than happy to trade beer or some cash for a pass, just don't want to pay window price to ride until lunch time. What time do you guys usually show up?
  2. Thanks Barb, I did see that, Triple Play pass for $ 139. I'm keeping my options open, I made sure to book a hotel with free cancellation in case plans change. I'm still leaning toward A-Basin and Loveland just because I haven't been there.
  3. Staying at the Quality Inn & Suites Summit County. The price was reasonable (around $ 100 per night) and includes a breakfast buffet. My fly fishing gear probably only weighs 3 lbs or so total, and the fly rod tube fits inside my regular luggage. I've spent most of my CO trips at Steamboat and a few days at Winter Park, so I'm excited to hit some different places.
  4. Awesome. I booked a hotel in Silverthorne for my trip, rental car I booked a few weeks ago, so I'm pretty much set. Lift tickets will wait until it gets closer, but I think it'll be A-Basin and Loveland (probably 2 days at Loveland). Since Southwest has a generous baggage policy, I may toss the fly rod in if I feel like fishing for a few hours (even though I know nothing about fishing in CO).
  5. You look like you're having no fun at all in this pic Nice report, snow looks incredible
  6. Either this weekend or the weekend of the 23rd I'll join you guys at Blue and use your buddy pass if that works for you. My pass decision next year is either Montage or Blue, or nothing and just see what I can find for discounted tickets around Black Friday/Christmas.
  7. I'm flying out of PHL, direct flights. I just got lucky and happened to be playing with the flight fare calendar on Southwest's site and saw that deal, I think there were two left at that price. I checked again recently and they were much higher. My friend lives in Steamboat and is going to meet me in Silverthorne. In the past, I've just gone to Steamboat since he usually scores me free tickets and it's a free place to stay, but Steamboat is a bit of a drive from Denver for such a short trip. And yeah, I'm lucky to get out on the weekends in PA, let alone a trip out west. I'll bring her back something good (not drugs )
  8. Finalizing a CO trip for early April. Flying out after work April 3rd and back home late April 6th. I booked the flight via Southwest a month or so ago for a whopping $ 117. I figured if the trip didn't work out, Southwest is good about flight changes/cancellations. Planning on hitting Loveland and A-Basin. I should be able to get 3 full days in. Normally I do a week, but this is my first trip out west since my daughter was born, so it's not really fair to the wife to leave them alone that long.
  9. Yeah I used to do the morning ticket deal also, and they gave a 10% AAA discount (I think they still do). I bought the $ 150 season pass someone posted here and definitely got my money's worth. I agree though, I don't think I'd pay a full price ticket, especially since I usually only ride until lunch time.
  10. Badass. Corbett's looks pretty good...not that I'd ever attempt it though.
  11. Yeah, it's pretty awesome never having any crowds. Thought about going up today, but wasn't sure how much fresh snow they'd get. Their website said 5". I may go back Saturday, or possibly join you fella's at Blue.
  12. Nice report...any day skiing/snowboarding is better than work. I should've taken off today.
  13. Nice report enjoralas...sausage sunday sounds awesome. Cool that you got your son out on the snow, I'm looking forward to eventually taking my daughter. Nice...I was going to skip work today, but looking at the weather last night, didn't know if it'd be worth using a vacation day.
  14. Some great pics, this one might be my new desktop background
  15. Had a pretty good day at Scranton's premier airboarding resort and waterpark... Got there around 9:30, little later than expected. Friend met me in Allentown and I drove from there. He was running late, so I picked up some beer at Whole Foods. Snow was pretty decent still when we got there, still a good bit of fresh stuff on some of the trails. White Lightning was pretty good and still some fresh snow off of the side of Smoke. Long Haul was running all day so did a bunch of runs off of that. Rattler to Cannonball was also pretty good up. Hit some of the glades off of Upper Fast Track, snow was pretty good, but a little slow, especially since that section isn't that steep. Hopefully the storm Sunday will fill some stuff in on the bottom section of the mountain. Today was Mountainfest or whatever with pond skimming, so we caught a bit of that. Not that exciting, but watched a few people wipe out. There was a local beer distributor giving out free burgers and beer at the top of the Phoebe Snow lift, which was awesome. They had cans of Troeg's Hop Knife and some Stone IPA's and lagers. Also brought along a few beers from Levante, and I picked up some Left Hand Raspberry Milk Stout at Whole Foods that was pretty good. Hit Breaker Brewing on the way home, had a flight and some tacos.
  16. I'm enjoying your pics - how long is the drive home for you?
  17. Sounds good, I'll check it out Schif. Weather.com says 5-8 inches for Montage Sunday night. I may have to take off Monday, although it's too far out to tell if they'll actually get much snow.
  18. Nice pics, looks awesome. I've never been to Whiteface, but I need to go sometime.
  19. Yeah...chocolate peanut butter cup is my usual
  20. Awesome, thanks! Yeah I completely understand if others would have priority over me for the buddy passes. I'll post up in one of the Blue threads when I figure out when I'll be there
  21. I'll definitely take you up on that if it's available. I was planning on hitting Blue anyway in March...I was planning on seeing if they did that promotion where a lift ticket costs whatever the temp is for the day, but a buddy pass is even better.
  22. Will do. I'll check out the glades this time hopefully. I haven't hit them recently, but judging how the snow was off-trail this past weekend, I'd guess they probably wouldn't have been great.
