  1. I thought they stopped making backpack blowers?
  2. Yeah, it's like wielding a tornado. I think Echo makes a slightly more powerful one now though.
  3. I have a bunch of white pines on a hill. I have to blow their needles back under them or they will surely kill the grass they bunch up on.
  4. I prefer natural bumps because the make you have to think about where you're gonna make your turns as opposed to seeded bumps that just let you get into a monotonous rhythm. I'll ski either, but I'll take a good dumping and the natural bumps that follow until they groom the life out of them.
  5. Most likely because they're made by others making similar turns, while seeded bumps are the opposite, set at a fixed distance forcing you to make turns where you typically aren't used to and/or at a much higher rate.
  6. Ongoing debate. I think if you get some leaves and you're not in or surrounded by woods, you probably don't need to rake, unless you got a big, bad tree. Being surrounded by woods with very large, mature trees, we get so many leaves that cover the lawn like a blanket and would kill the lawn. The first couple years here I only had a home-gamer electric leaf blower. There was no way it could keep up and so I left the leaves. Nearly killed the lawn. Now I've got a Stihl BR-600 backpack blower that almost blew me backwards down the deck stairs the first time I used it. We have a 2 acre lot, about 3/4 acre of grass.
  7. We're lucky in that we're surrounded by woods, so I can just blow them to the edge of the woods depending on which direction the wind is blowing. We're unlucky in that we're surrounded by woods because every fall I have a ton of leaves to blow from the yard. Regardless, I kinda enjoy blowing leaves, except for the time it takes me to do it and the pain in my arm from doing it. By the end of 4 hours of the same back/forth movement of my right arm, it's quite painful to do any different moves. Otherwise it's just put on the headphones and get outside so I get used to being out in the cold and wind again.
  8. Spent about 8 hours total this past weekend getting the matted leaves up out of the lawn.
  9. Just skiing/boarding on the snow is how natural bumps form, which in turn (no pun intended) creates the push piles.
  10. When you get a flat and don’t have a spare and try to ride back to your car... I was sitting there trying to work innertube back inside tire when a group of riders came upon me. First guy in group decides to stop to help but second guy doesn’t see first guy stop, runs into first guy and goes head over handlebars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. They'll slog out to the car and sleep all the way there.
  12. And will be until someone better comes along to take his place, which is highly unlikely.
  13. Did you get binders for your new skis yet?
  14. More like picking up a 6-pack of beer or a bottle of wine...
  15. I always have my phone with me, it's the holy trinity: keys, wallet & phone. I've been saying it for as long as I've been skiing and had a cellphone. I much rather hear someone coming at me and/or listen to the quiet around me than listen to music while I ski. Even Adam Sandler had to jump on the bandwagon...
  16. Winters with little natural snow keep the slopes wide open for season pass holders, but it just doesn't feel like winter if there isn't any snow off the trails.
  17. Why, because they're too young to drink? 😉
  18. I saw some blue on the radar last night up in northern PA.
