  1. Well as long as we are getting all mushy....I am entirely self taught which is clearly evident if you've ever seen me ride. I was a flippy spinny kid who raced but I didn't like racing because it was all organized and shit.....yada yada yada Many years later I got old and bored and decided to try Nastar again. Nastar may be the bottom of the barrel but its serious fun and if you aren't all about it your really only competing with yourself. No matter what level of skier you are racing will make you a better skier both on the race course and in 24" of fluff. Give it a try sometime you won't be disappointed...though you may have to buy some skinny sticks.
  2. Do we know are they cutting a new trail ? I liked your post because I like you but the name will always remind me of that damn show my daughter watches.....you gotta find the first paw print
  3. If it moves further south it would be colder but probably miss almost everyone, the GFS says quick hitter with mostly snow other models say slow and warm. LOL on weather models.
  4. Be careful. 13-15% or 2" of water for 16", nothing ob would be my move not even USA bowl. Wind is light but sustained on ridges = inverted snow on shit and pockets of wind slab. People are going to die this week, I would rather not know them.
  5. x2 they look excellent for walrus hunts The windshield wiper on the mitten is a little bit of genius.
  6. You want a shop in PA that can use Quiver Killers ? Hmmm nobody is going to know about them outright but I would bet Rich Rieber Pro Sports can do it. He is the only guy in PA I trust to mount and I've given him some really weird shit over the years. 10 year old Diamir II's with no documentation or hardware and he did a perfect job. Alot of weird non-jig mounts too that were again perfect. As an aside his repair work is top notch, ripped a 12" section of base right up against the edge and his base weld has held for 2 1/2 seasons. Dude runs a small shop on 61 and is good people. If you need a rush he can do it while you wait.
  7. Sorry that came out kind of debbie downer, fuck dude all my skiing has been WROD, I'd be down for 3" of 20% at this point. I meant more FYI shit is coming down so prepare for fuckups on 210 when Sup goes and maybe a couple of hours on interlodge. The couple of times Cliff Lodge has gotten hit its been shit like this. Anything that has been ridden with some kind of consistency will be fine but when PCSP is hitting scotties and a single hand and it is running 100ft wide, 1ft deep Utah has become CO. I would be a little more careful inbounds because this will be a tricky pack, isolated spots of hardened slab with new wet snow all sitting on a shit bed of facets will make it difficult for a single bomb to get it to pull out. I think my age has made me soft LOL
  8. Not advocating but it certainly worked BC is just like Blue the clientele is just too stupid for some things....maybe a pit with bears.
  9. Pack is total shit, South facing is facets, North facing is facets with maybe a rock hard wind slab. 1ft deep hair trigger that gouges as it runs. Snow probably won't help too much as its forecasted to be wet heavy but here's hoping it comes in dry.
  10. I'm retired from the park game but I never got snaked like I got snaked at BC......back in the day Killy had a sweet midsized park off ramshead. Dudes who rode their every day kept that shit in line, random retard from NY won't wait his turn so they run him down and start throwing punches. Needless to say that was the most organized park I've ever seen.
  11. They need to blow switchback, that little trail has excellent design...most of blue's actual trails are well designed...I can't think of another trail in PA like Razor's.

    Taos

My ass is slow but I always get there..lol I rode at snowbowl and ski apache and one of them is on tribal land, the tribe apparently was not cool with the white man meandering away from their resort and got surprisingly up in our face about it. Great slack but don't want to deal with that shit....I want to say it was Apache but I don't remember. One of them has a lift with a funny A name that accesses great terrain above the lift.
  13. sick, was so happy they got some snow got to get up again....is everything in ?
  14. Razors was nearly perfect, not as many retards as I figured for mlk at 12.

    Taos

taos is Kachina and Kachina is the shit
  16. You can always ski the wf slides if you access via the state park. There are roughly 60 slides not on wf mtn.
  17. In PA the two toughest trails are Extreme at Denton A TRIPLE DIAMOND !!!! and East Wall Glades at Blue Knob both are probably a 3/10 on the global scale. There are very very steep pillows that form in decent snow years near the PA grand canyon from the Pine Creek action but I've never had skis with me on the random trips up that way to hunt.
  18. This was a known issue with the first Royal release, essentially older bindings would work with a range of DIN block heights but Marker in the first year of the Royal didn't realize their new design wouldn't work with Dabello and Full Tilt boots as they run considerably thinner blocks that the rest of the market. The Krypton has the thinnest DIN blocks on the market if I remember right and Marker revised the toe/wing parts for the next release. You'll get far less in a Look/Rossi because the design cares alot less about worn lugs. You can do two things, one replace the soles on your boots. Some boots have removable toe and heal blocks so you can swap worn lugs but that may not fix the problem. I do know of people who shimmed the binding but that can be bad if you don't know what your doing. I would find the Marker shop number, the real fucking deal and they can hook you up with a much thicker afd that was produced specifically to fix this problem. I know you laughing about calling them but it really works. I bought old P14's from a dude on TGR before they remade the FKS and they were OG first year P14's were you had to push down on the brake/lifter assembly to release the brake. I was missing a brake and the first year variant can only except brakes from that production run. Fuck I think I'm out 100$ but a dude on TGR horded half moon's for the true turntables(FKS/p18) and knew this guy in rossi's facility in Ogden. He said call him and he'll hook you up. I'm thinking total bs but sure enough they transfer me to him and he says send them in and I'll bend the new brakes to 115 and pin the brakes in. Two weeks later I'm mounting the bindings with zero dollars out of my pocket. Then I wouldn't buy a shitty Marker product ever again...LOL now I'm just being a dick...seriously call them and they will help you out or if you are good friends with a shop guy who knows a rep that could get you the new AFD much faster. Can't be a new rep, only an OG rep that does alot of business because they are the ones that know who can get you what you need from the U.S. warehouse.
  19. Thanks dude, trying to decide if its worth going up tonight. Going to be an ice box Razors all weekend...fuck, without the "steep" shit its tough finding elbow room as noobs are only afraid of steepness.
  20. Spend the last day in the park, go to the LOJ, rent snowshoes and take the Van Hovenberg up Marcy. If your feeling up to it bring skis and ski back down. The Jack rabbit runs right next to the Hov highway and is the last true ski trail in the Daks. This is an simple trip but with huge rewards. Shit if you aren't down with that go from the LOJ to Marcy Dam, the view alone is worth it.
  21. I fucking hate that ski. Anybody up now ? Wondering what the wind is doing.....
  22. I drive cheap ass cars and live in a relatively modest house. I require very little in terms of consumption beyond that which sustains life....and skis. LOL Man's purpose is unknown or the purpose may be what happens when it is self defined but it sure as hell ain't sitting in a 10x10 box so you can accumulate more 0 and 1's than the next guy. Money, power, things, consumption are an illusion that forces humans to walk a certain path mostly for the benefit of others. I may be a chainsmoking bro-brah lawyer who can't ski but at least I've done most of it on my own terms particularly in terms of exchanging my labor for $$$.
