The biggest differentiator seems to be Pfizer vs Moderna. The latter giving younger individuals a harder kick on their second Fauci Ouchie.

I had no issue. Some people just suck at the world wide web. The website doesn't help, though.

Thanks Toast for the ticket. Nice to say hi to all of you briefly, though I remain most comfortable in masked gatherings.
Nice conditions today for what the weather has been - and much better than Hunter today from all reports. Got in 12 runs, with my fav (the one I did 2x) being Widowmaker > Chute > Main St.
Good to be back at Blue after 2 years. Hope I get some decent conditions in New England Thurs-Sun. Sounds like there could be snow Thurs.
Hard to find a better vaccinated group (with the exception of @saltyant) ... hard to find a PASR in the parking lot who hasn't received at least their first dose.

Went up today for an afternoon session, pretty sure Atomic and Mute were there too but never could find them.
Brown town for sure but really coverage is pretty good. Icy granular soft stuff, good bad snow and it was t-shirt weather. Sad to see the number of days left shrinking.
where the hell were you? your car wasn't there when we pulled in and it wasn't there when we left?
nice afternoon bump session with @mute1080 and @NazarethSkier

wow this is grate news. unsure which pass i'll get next year ... the Northeast one is nice, but it almost seems like a waste to spend $480 when for $780 you have the option to ski any resort. at this point, i enjoy the flexibility of having both ikon and epic, which basically allows you to ski anywhere in the west.

It just boggles the mind that one would not get the vaccine because there *might* be long term side effects, but at the same time would protect you against a virus that *does* have long term side effects. The logic is flawed.

Who is bringing the SPF80? Going to be lovely. Almost 60F and a slight breeze.

Can't get to blue till later on Sunday. I'm out for the party.
What is "later"? What the hell do you have that's more important than the PASR Party?!

No. Didn't even look.

This Sunday does look spectacular. I think I'd rather go for guaranteed nice weather rather than push the date as late as possible.

This morning at the top of Blue I saw smoke on the horizon. It must have been this windmill fire near Mahanoy City which is around 32 miles away as the crow flies. That's bananas! I bike past these windmills all the time.
@mbike-ski Mahanoy City talk
wow, that's a shame, i know how much @mbike-ski wants to do a mahanoy city ride this summer.

Completely irrelevant to skiing, but what did you average for MPG on the way out there and back?
The best I saw was my final tank coming home, where I was up at 31.4mpg, despite driving just as fast, but more aggresssively? My worst was going across Kansas on the way out there, where it was down at 26.5mpg. For comparison I was at 28.5 across Kansas coming home. Overall, my fuel economy was better east of the Mississippi both directions. Probably a combination of lower elevation and slightly lower speed limits.
Overall was high 28s with the roof box on. Not bad. I will usually do 30-31mpg without the box on.

Well ... thanks for a great time @skiincy @Barb @NMSKI @Johnny Law @mute1080.
After some change of plans (and a shortening of the trip), @mute1080 and I left @Barb's house at 6:02am, enroute to the Gunnison airport for @mute1080's return flight. I pointed the car due east from there, with the goal of reaching the St Louis airport for a quick night sleep. After 15h of driving, covering 1060 miles, I arrived. Few hours sleep, I was back on the road at 5am, needing to cover another 870 miles to my house. It took >14 hours on the way out there from my house to STL, so I was determined to cut that down. Even with some stop and go traffic in the Harrisburg area, I made the trip in 12h and 55m. Elapsed time from CB to my house was 34h 55m.
It's time for some bourbon, and a good night sleep. The good/bad/ugly to come ...
Coming over the top of Monarch Pass yesterday AM ...
Some nice scenery on US 50 heading towards Colorado Springs...
Leaving CO 😔

Skison 20/21?
in General Chat
Posted
Yesterday was a blast. @toast21602 @mute1080 and I left my house promptly at 4:40am planning an arrival just shy of 7:30am. Two pee stops on the way, and he arrived at 7:27am, right on schedule. Quick boot up, we hit the snow at 7:45am and toured up to the top with @Justo8484 and @GSSucks. Despite being 20F when we arrived, we were all sweating our asses off after the first 1/4 mile. We all met up at the top, had a celebratory beer/truly, and enjoyed a well deserved run down before heading back to the car for several beers before venturing out for the ski day. A bunch of bump runs, and it was time to enjoy some more beers, some food, and return for some mono ski and KoreyKustom laps. So good out that there were Trulys just flying in the area.
