Apparently my heat was turned on Thursday without my knowledge or consent. Not cool.

I'll be in Philly all day/night Saturday. I am looking forward to a soaking day and not getting to enjoy anything outdoors at all.

How? Really? You're the godfather of heat free living. So who's left?

Still Going strong with no heat. A comfy 66 when I woke up this morning. Went up to 67 after I took a shower. Got in the car and it was reading 36. Oddly enough by the time I got to the office it had dropped a degree even though the sun had come up.

Whoever goes the longest without putting their heat on gets a beer from me. The challenge has officially been put out there

100% agree. Forget the waterslides and the basketball court. I would spend my entire trip on the bridge. Boating and navigation is incredibly fascinating to me.

I'm 100% on board for being in the No heat November club. It has been a steady 70 or so in my place. It's a townhouse style apartment so I've only got 1 exterior wall and there is a unit above me. Even over the winter last year when I lost power a few times (electric forced air heat) The temp never dropped below 60 inside.

Chilly out there when I took the dog out at 5:45. A decent amount of people near me have fired up their heating systems but I'm still holding out. I broke down and turned on the heated seat in the car though.

At least every two weeks I see shipments to the Allure of the Seas and other such named vessels in Miami. these boats are in constant need of marine and protective coatings. It amazes me that maintenance like that is just perpetually happening right under drunk passengers noses and no one even notices. Maybe they schedule the big painting jobs for the hour that the shrimp is put out on the buffet so most people are distracted.

When I started going there were always ski clubs at Montage on Friday nights. That was how I got into it. I don't know of any clubs specifically anymore but I know they are out there and they were definitely a very affordable way to get me and my brother out on the snow when we were kids. If I recall, it was $11 if you just needed a lift ticket, and $16 got you a lift lesson and rental. Best Friday nights ever as a 14 year old.

It was a tad chilly today but i've still got my windows open. I'm hoping it stays mild a little longer so I can have a relatively warm trip to Penn State for a game in a few weeks and so I can have a comfortable No Heat November.

The Tent sale came through for me. Got some new boots. Salamon XPro 80s Size 28.5. Red and Black. Tried on a bunch of boots and had a full blown boot fitting session in a hot soggy tent. I'm pretty stoked. Scored a sweet deal and I'm one step closer to doing the Pocono Shuffle on two planks.

Not all beer needs to be freezing cold. I prefer certain ones to warm up a little bit to release the flavor.

Had no idea it was raining until I tried to take the dog out at about 10 last night. She decided it was a hard no for her so we just went to bed. Also there was apparently lightning and some thunder. I had to have the AC on due to humidity.

I'm glad it was raining when I took the dog out for a walk this morning. I was afraid I would go a whole day without seeing that beautiful gray sky.

I'm kind of ready for an adventure to elk this year. I haven't been up that way in probably 5 years.

If I recall, the "Wild Wednesday" coupons were diamond shaped things that were stuck to cases of beer and could be redeemed for a $25 lift ticket on Wednesdays. Keystone Light maybe? I don't recall exactly which beer but I definitely used to use those at least once a year when I lived up that way.

This is the best thing I've heard all week. That's awesome that Elk does that.

Elk always claims to plant hundreds of trees per year. I want to see the receipt for all 600 trees and I want to see each of them numbered up on the mountain.

Impressive mowing, and I appreciate the fact that you did a perimeter cut as well. Cleans things up and covers up and imperfections at the end of each line. Also you're clearly on top of things by mowing in multiple directions. A lot of people mess that one up. What kind of mower do you use? I'm getting the vibe that you're a Toro guy, possibly zero turn.

I would love to do some landscaping. For some reason cutting grass, edging, trimming all of that is extremely relaxing to me. Plus when it looks great at the end there's a nice sense of satisfaction. I miss cutting my own grass now that I'm in an apartment complex.

Obviously he walks the 4 miles back to the shop and leaves the truck running.
