Guy from Wasatch Snow Forecast. Ignore him. Fast forward to about 30 seconds in, then start paying attention to the background.2 points

Hey, thanks for the critique! Most instructor's I've had are sort of vague and too nice. I need someone to yell at me when I do bad shit, not tell me to "let the ski do the work...blah, blah." I've been an athlete all my life and am used to blunt, sardonic coaches shouting at me in the moment so I can correct in the moment. I'm out there at Blue all the time because I want to get better; I don't want to be a groomer-bound f-ing intermediate my whole life. Is there like a Bobby Knight-style instructor around? Because I would hire that guy. Yeah, I love the SkiDiva site and the many awesome women there, but I don't do their trips anymore; generally prefer to ski solo. Most of the local Divas are less-than-charmed by my company. Which is fair enough, really.2 points

Just got back from a short, but fun morning session. Arrived in the lot around 8am to 28' temps. Guns where on strong the entire length of Razors and the upper part of Sidewinder and Chute, with a bunch of fan guns on for effect, I guess. A patroller came down Challenge as I was riding up and I didn't hear any scraping, so decided to see what it was like. Not bad! The fresh blown and grooming was quite nice, so I made a few more laps before all the new was scraped off. Took a good run at the Falls which is starting to get a lip, but halfway down is still pretty hard frozen cord, so watch out. Took a run down Paradise which was quite nice with a bit of new blown and Lazy was much the same. They did nothing to the bumps and so they froze back up hard and the little dusting they received didn't help, so I avoided them. Not a whole lot else to report, just gotta get through Saturday's storm and back to some cold weather. Guns ablaze. Some TV news crew filming. Maybe I'm on somewhere?1 point

I got second civilian chair and rode from 8:30 to 11:00. Great day and I thought conditions were enjoyable. However, I have never seen a mid week non holiday morning this crowded at blue before. 6 pack line went back to the scanners at 10:45.1 point

I thought it was going to be a mess today but they were able to blow some snow last night so coverage was pretty good....as was the grooming....1 point

Wanna see how it affects binding performance? I'll show you how floppy my beat as bindings and Classic Full Tilts that have had the toe piece practically worn to nothing from walking around in them! Buy a pair of boots that let you replace the base plates or suck it up and ski with what you got. It's a poor musician who blames his instrument! Unless your Jeff and can drop $1500 on a new pair of boots as often as he buys new BMWs.1 point

I'm usually skiing with my Dad and we're usually by ourselves because we don't ski as fast as most, especially on the blacks. I've been in a blue jacket this year, but I think I will switch it up to the rust colored coat seen in my avatar here for tomorrow night, over black pants, dark green helmet.1 point

Please don't drop $600 on skis without at least testing something other than the beginner skis you are on. Ideally you should demo the skis that you want to buy, but for sure test something else out. And I'll once again urge you to consider going wider than the RTM81s you were talking about getting as your daily driver ski. Given that you will be a predominantly Poconos skier, and with all the warmth cycles we go through even in the middle of winter your going to see a tone of chop, soft pile snow and other crappy conditions where the extra width will be very welcome. At the very least test some different widths to see what you like. I'm planning to be at Blue tomorrow night, if you do go I'm happy to let you take a run or two on my Rossi Exp88 HDs. Blue also offers demos for $60 where you can take out up to three pairs of skis, and they will apply the 60 to a purchase if you make one. They don't have Volkl or Rossi, but the Head Monster and Soloman XDrive series should be pretty comparable.1 point

Think I saw SallyCat couple of times. She was going down the hill, and I was on the lift. Left around 1230. Also left my skis there to get sharpened. I guess lots of others wanted their stuff sharpened. Hour wait! I'll be back tomorrow am. Have to leave by 1230. Getting some work done on my car.1 point

You wouldn't be toast the deer would be toast and you know if you are skiing too fast to avoid a deer or person then you are out of control and for that I'll have to give you four giant Dings....Ding Ding Ding Ding wait why would you be Toast..that's just weird. There's only one Toast lol1 point

I don't believe that. It only hit 45 in Allentown and Eaf said it was starting to soften a little early afternoon. With the low sun angle and north facing mountain low 40s(im guessing mainly upper 30s on the mountain) with little sunshine doesn't do much. If it was March it would be an entirely different story.1 point

I don't know, man, speeding on ice sounds dangerous. What if a deer runs out in front of me and I can't stop because my edges don't grip the ice? I think the shop sharpened them when I took them for a tune-up, but I'm not sure. I've been living dangerously as it is, because I did not get a binding test this year.1 point

Alright, that's it. It's so hard now that I have to make most of turns on one ski, pushing it in as hard as I can. So I caught a red chair on Main Street lift and am going home.1 point
