There’s more discussion over at alpine zone. Apparently these new trails are becoming a shit show with crowds that can’t handle them.

Just from reading Alpine Zone Hunter seems like a legitimately dangerous place to ride on a Saturday. Sounds like they consistently have terrible conditions which ill suspect is snow being scrapped off by 10am and its sheets of ice after that. Ill be sticking to weekdays and early/late season weekends.

Not to mention a freakin lifty ODed in one of the lift sheds....WTF?

Hunter is always a scapegoat because of its clientele.  Lots of Joeys there...I’m glad you bring some doylestown hospitality and pomade to Huntah

Damn, seems like a lot of deaths this season. My days of skiing ridiculously  fast are over.

Just don’t ski beyond your limits and you’ll be fine. “Accidents” happen, but stuff like this usually has a giant outlier, that outlier being skill and ability to recognize when the throttle back or how to recover once you fall.

You've never skied ridiculously fast.

I hit 57 mph going down Susquehanna at Elk. That's about 30 mph less than your run down Floyd's but fast enough for me. Now that I'm old (30) I'm fine going 35-40 at most.

Your GPS on your phone is wrong.

Bull. I compared it to my car speedometer and it was an exact match.

Completely different.  No elevation change and way more consistent speed.

The out of control skier on steep groomer at Jackson hole today could have easily hit a tree and died or taken out a whole ski school group. Some have more balls than brains.

What was your top speed at winter park?
