And they’re charging $65 for the ticket. No thanks. Was thinking about hunter… hunter north and hunter west are closed. Main mountain appears to have one or 2 runs from the top. $109 and 3 hours in the car for that…no thanks again. Why won’t vail do spring discounts like the rest of the world? Platty is closed so that’s a no. idk….maybe I’ll slum it at elk, Greek or Belle. Want to go somewhere not named blue for a change of scenery I may have an extra montage ticket if you want it. I’ll check this weekend but i think I bought a discount ticket before the season started 1

Worth the drive? idk I think you would like it there. The 3 hour drive can be a turn off but throw on some U2 and you're good to go. It is definitely a change from Blue but you'd have a Beautiful Day. The allure of a new place is always nice too. They have a nice lodge to boot up in and hang out with a bevy when you need a break and an Unforgettable Fire pit which is almost always blazing. Every time I have been there the lift lines were minimal and you could just Walk On. The trails are unique and the front face steeps are pretty legit and might give you Vertigo for a 1000' mountain. And, as you know, lift tickets are reasonable.. 2 1 3

Let me see if I can get my $109 back from vail for the hunter ticket I bought yesterday. I didn't look at the conditions report before buying that. I did that afterwards and got nauseous TBH. 1

The lifelines may make him feel like he’s running to stand still, guess he’ll have to see what his Desire to spring ski is. 1
RidgeRacer Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 It really will be a game time decision I think. If I can’t get my $109 back then I’m going to hunter I guess. I tried calling the epic bat line but they haven’t opened yet.

A one day lift ticket is the same price. lol. Vail must think hunter is in the same league as WF 1 1

Want to go somewhere not named blue for a change of scenery Hunter has 4 runs open off the top White Cloud - Drop Off Hellgate - 42nd - JFk Minya Konka - Lower Xover East Side Drive And the runs have about 50% more vertical than Catamount and a high speed lift I consider Catamount fairly equivalent to what Elk would be if they opened up the trees and were in a better snow climate - but I doubt the Cat glades will be very good conditions next week unless they get a bunch of fresh snow Edited March 13 by Ski2Live Live2Ski 3

This is the right call on their end which is surprising that they actually did it. I'll give you a refund in DG gift cards if you go to Catamount and don't like it. 1
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 (edited) I certainly enjoy skiing Catamount and hit it most years I have an IndyPass - but most often as part of a multi day trip that involves skiing other further places as well as I consider it a bit far drive for what it is for a one day trip. I went there on MLK day on my way home from a trip that also included Berkshire East and Mount Snow. It is most worthwhile if I can go there when glades are decent Edited March 13 by Ski2Live Live2Ski

East Mountain is open today, but with challenge and thunderbolt apparently closed. It’s a long haul over to there from the DeMattes cut over. A couple of years ago they closed Frost and kept Boulder open because you couldn’t get east of the DeMattes. 1
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 FYI Belt Parkway and Hunter North are now open for a total of 8 distinct runs Belt Parkway Way Out / Way In/ Rips Return Overlook Twilight White Cloud / Drop Off Hellgate / 42nd / Gunhill Minya / Lower Xover / Kennedy East Side Drive / Mossy Brook Can’t speak to whether that is worth $109 to you

Already got my money back. And if I wanted to buy a pass for the 19th, it's now up to $114. SMH. That vs. montage for free with PSUs generous offer and a stop at acaro and genel afterwards for pizza? I'm leaning towards the latter. 2

I’ve been slacking but most of what I’ve eaten has been boring except for corned beef and cabbage. 1
RidgeRacer Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 Montage was closed today. Reopening tomorrow. Has me thinking they may be closed next week, mid week.
