No Long Haul lift today?

(not that it’s much faster)

That’s not a haiku.
Please post here in haiku form.
This is a warning.

I'm a little bummed

Never dropped rope on lightning

Time for old forge pie

You say pie, wrong sir.

Old Forge serves trays of pizza

No Lightning is sad

Ok enough haiku. Fun day but limited terrain. Trail map had boomer and WL open but that never materialized, at least not while I was there. So it was basically that one trail skiers left from the top and cannonball down low. Coverage was good and conditions were nice with a few lumps and bumps here and there. Stopped at Arcaro and Genell for a tray of red and a tray of sweet. Considered Maronis but it was out of the way. Overall fun day…the rib pain situation was wayyy better this morning and I barely felt it when skiing. Montage is always fun and only about 45 from my house. I always think about it when the $399 deal comes up but when I actually go and sit on those lifts I remember what I’m not missing.  I will say though absolutely no litter though which is nice, unlike some other areas south of kunkletown and north Of the Lehigh Valley. All told fun day for sure and thanks again to PSU for the ticket. I’m looking forward to skiing a full mountain at. Blue this weekend.

For me the comparative lack of lines on peak days make up for the slow lifts, but that doesn’t help on a thursday

Bummer about the misleading report and very limited terrain

I've must of been to montage at least 20 times over the past ten years, probably over 50 lifetime. I have never seen the long haul open. What the hell is the point of 1k vertical if you need two lifts which don't even load and unload near each other to do it? I doubt we will ever see a high speed put in there. but if they did I would gladly pay a bit more for their pass.

Long Haul was open both times I went there this season

only used it a couple times each trip though - Phoebe serves over 60% of the vertical which has 90% of the most fun trails

Somehow long haul has been open 4 of my 7 career days at montage

My last time at montage was in 2008 with @Melissa and @Chippy and Eugene and Ski999 were there that day and I remember skiing for five hours and got the same vert as an hour and a half at Blue. I should go sometime, it’s exactly an hour away from me.

I think I only have 4 or 5 days total at Montage, but I think the Long Haul was running every time.

If that fancy ski through hotel they dropped ever gets put in, I bet they get a high speed quad to replace the long haul
