  1. A lot of people only ski 1-2 times per year/every few years, throw in a bunch of kids learning, and when you offer $35 ticket/rental/lesson its a good portion of the people there. Tried to go down to lower mountain on a rented snowboard there which was a bad idea lol that last drop is steeper than it looks and thanks for the welcome! I have been lurking here for a while, decided I should make an account.

  3. Looks like its live. https://www.epicpass.com/passes/epic-pass.aspx 20% off. So with a Blue Pass increase, and an Epic pass discounted, its sort of a wash. I will probably, definitely, most likely, maybe buy the Epic Local, since i plan on another trip to Crested, which probably would cover my days there for $67 per day, or somewhere around $.87 per run, depending of course if its just lapping groomed trails, or doing some other stuff up top. Leaves me plenty of money for Cocoa and maybe even a soft pretzel. looks like i can get some cheap airfare if i dont mind flying BWI-MIA-PHL-DEN-DFW-GUN. let me know if anyone wants me to book them some airfare.

  5. Got my 2nd Fauci Ouchie yesterday. In and out under 10 minutes. I was impressed with how Rite Aid handled the process. Hardest part was getting a time but after that they send text reminders, appointments were quick, and people were friendly(at least at the Brodheadsville one).

  6. My golf buddies hate me for that exact reason. “I got a 4 on that hole” “it took you 3 shots to get out of the bunker”

  9. This is accurate. Only rink I’ve had a guy try to fight, take off his helmet, get his ass beat, then try to press charges afterwards

  10. might want to let him know he needs the second dose of Pfizer...

  11. FWIW anecdotally, people have been having more of an immune response to Moderna than Pfizer and less of a reaction the older you get. Of course everyone is different, but this is what I've seen.

  12. There is nothing I could care less about in the grand scheme of the skiing world than a combo pass with camelback. I mean... I wouldn't say @indiggio made it up. I've heard similar things from at least three other completely unrelated sources at this point. Something's going on, and it sounds like pretty much the worst/most useless outcome for those of us who don't give a crap about a hotel or improved lodge. Hopefully whatever's going down at least comes with a terrain expansion to spread out all the new season pass holders.

  13. Camelback's owners also own Blue now, right? Maybe they can do a Blue/Camel multi pass for ya'll.

  17. Witnessing traumatic events, especially if it’s your first time, can fog people’s memories as well. I’ve dealt with a handful of fatal accidents where a witness can’t seem to remember which car caused the accident but they can describe injuries (to an extent) and whether or not the person was wearing a seatbelt

  20. FYI - the epic local and northeast pass include Stowe, for those thinking of going in on the group home in VT next year.

  22. Excited to get Epic next year. Disappointed that Blue didn't make the cut. It looks like Camelback is on with lift access to the Sullivan only.

  23. Would need some sort of trail like lower sidewinder that has multiple switchbacks to mellow it out. I miss Montage. I was hoping to get up there on a Tuesday in February but it kept snowing and Blue was so damn good.

  24. Back in the day at Montage they had huge orange banners up on poles that stretched the whole width of the trail, probably 20 feet in the air that said something along the lines of "Expert terrain only beyond this point" to try and turn people before they went down lower runaway and lower fast track. It would take a herculean effort to cut a blue trail down to the bottom of Montage, the mountain just naturally takes a nosedive down there and there are some major rock formations and cliffs off to the far skiers right that would make it very tough to add a mellow trail out there. I love Montage but at the end of the day it's 4 little mountains all tied together since each lift skis like its own little pod. Welcome @abe!

  25. all of the different types of passes confuse me, but correct me if i'm wrong -- a season pass to jack frost / bb would be $479 with the add'l perks of unlimited visits to 14 add'l mountains, 4 with blackout dates and 10 days at stowe. is that right?

  29. Story was leaked and posted via NE Skiology. Reposting from there: Long story short: Vail is cutting prices by 20% next season. Although there is no word on pricing for regional passes like their NE Regional Pass.

  30. Depends. How much control do said new owners have over Blue? We've all seen how Camelback is run; I don't want that. If nothing materially changes at Blue, you've now got let's say twice as many people with a valid Blue pass, so how many more people does Blue get on a given weekend once people start to realize that Blue is a shit show, but considerably less of one than Camelback? Like I said previously, I don't see how this materially affects the majority of PASRs in any positive way. There will be flaming ski poles and bigfeet if the no tailgating rule gets implemented.

  31. Interesting, I kinda had the balance thing too and I've never had that from any other vaccine before. It was definitely weird. Now that I think about it, it kinda felt like I had a bad hangover, and I purposely didn't have any beers the night before so as to not confuse symptoms haha Blue's gonna be closed, so it's gonna be a little hard for me to ski on a tuesday unless I go to the mall

  36. I will probably do the full epic again just for Telluride and CB. I have decided I don’t like Keystone. Hopefully life will be back to normal next season and I can do the women’s clinic at Telluride again.

  37. Stowe is the best in the east. Whistler was the first place I skied out west. Travel is difficult and snow can be iffy due to the low elevation...a YouTube channel I watch onecutmedia takes place in whistler and this season has been incredible for the locals as foreign tourists haven’t been allowed there so basically every powder day has been a sleeper.

  38. Ikon is better for Utah and Epic is better for Colorado. I’m just gonna buy lift tickets as I go next season. I have no idea where I’m even gonna ski aside from blue and Jackson hole. If I spend a couple hundred more on lift tickets so be it.

  39. How long are people only able to ski Blue runs in PA? Like four days. Sheesh. Most beginners and low intermediate skiers ski single blacks. Also @abe welcome to PASR

  40. If they could figure out how to cut a green or blue trail to the bottom I could see a high speed long haul be justified Maybe they can do something like the Greek Peak "express" where they have a loading carpet and crank up the speed of a fixed grip if they can't get the skier traffic down there to justify a proper detachable. But yeah for having 1000ft vert there it is pretty hard to lap all of it given how long flat and slow the long haul liftline is. I do hope that their cheap $35/$40 ski for all stays around for a while though, it is a great place to bring people who need rentals, but of course they will charge what the market says they can once they get a hotel in - not sure what the effect would be on skier traffic. It does seem like a fair number of people from further south take Montage/Elk overnights, I guess if Montage had a slopeside hotel they would get more of that vacation $$$ seeing as they seem to have a hard time attracting Philly/NY crowd

  42. That’s not that crazy considering what a large enterprise they are. Blue sells 4,000 season passes @500 each is $2 million and 300k day passes at $70 each for $21m that’s 23m add in rentals and lessons, tubing and summer stuff and all that they could be a 40 million a year business and most businesses are worth a couple years worth of revenue. Woo woo woo Blue is likely worth 75-100m woo woo Barb Green might be able to buy a new Subaru
