  3. Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 7:15am and it was 23 degrees out under mostly cloudy sky’s with strong winds. In the house was everybody but Salty, PARidge, Nancy and Schifdawg. From 7:30-9am I enjoy a couple mimosas and a Bloody Mary along with multiple helpings of JFDans famous meaty cheesy egg casserole. On the Slopes at 9am and started on Main Street which was ok..pretty consistent snow..skied that a few times then over to coming soon which was better than yesterday. Guns were blowing on a few random places and they definitely blew snow in Barney’s bumps as well. I did Main Street some more and a run on challenge which was stiff but decent and also did Barney’s bumps with Matt edge which was slick or silky depending on where you turned. Back in the lot around 1030ish and had a Yum Yum donut thanks to antman..then some sausage, roast beef, salt block steak, brisket and melted cheese on Toast(not the PASR) that would be weird. Also had a boo bear maple bacon donut on the drive home. While the weather outside was frightful, the food and fun was delightful. JADIP

  8. Just got home from a great afternoon at Blue The True! Great seeing and hanging out with everyone before making some turns. Snow was suprisingly good, edgable everywhere despite being on the solid or sugary side!

  9. @mbike-ski and I took a chance and toured up Bearpen Mountain ... about 25 minutes from Hunter/Windham. There was some liquid precip yesterday and the temps were cold last night, so our backup plan was a tour up Windham. We arrived in the middle of nowhere and did a quick snow check. It was *ok* with a slight crust. We hoped it was better up high. About 2/3 of the way up we came across a skier coming back down the snowmobile trail and he said he dipped into the woods and it was rough so he bailed. We were that far, so to the top we went. The grade was perfect. Nothing as steep as Hunter/Windham's uphill routes. After reaching the summit and enjoying a beer, we scoped out the lines from earlier in the week to have some knowledge for a future trip. The top half was still firm, but the lower half was insanely fun spring snow. Had we waited 30-60 minutes at the summit, I think most of our run would've been like that, but we both had a huge smile on our face at the bottom. It was fun. 10/10 would do again.

  10. It is impressive to see how long they have made it considering the season we have had. Just another reason why Blue is the best ski area in all of Carbon County, regardless of what Ski2liv says.

  11. I was like I'll just lay down for a second when I got home and I just woke up lol lol Today was most excellent, enjo as always was the mother fucking mvp and nobody anywhere does it better. The v2 skis are a piece of art work and a masterclass lesson in malicious compliance. Arcing those down falls is next level and those Russian dudes the make skis to hunt mink would be soooo jealous. Unbelievable day and is was a fucking privilege to share it with all of you.

  12. Looking like Blue will remain open daily through the 26th and might open the following weekend. They did a good job covering up alot of the brown and only lost nightmare to dreamweaver…that run is challenging to keep covered it has a stream that runs under it. They plan on blowing tonight and it’s dry and cold..they might blow Monday night as well then it gets warm..high of 68 Thursday for Allentown..thursdays have been the warmest day this season it seems.

  13. I saw those too, except I also saw a second pair (that looked almost identical) next to them. I wonder what the deal is/was

  14. Pretty cold wind chill today. Skiing was decent this morning except Razors/Razorback. One more warm day I think will do the lower half of widow maker in. Saw these skis leaning on the first aid building.

  19. I switched. At first it felt so weird to have my legs independent of each other instead of strapped into one board. I have taken a lot of ski clinics over the years and that helped. Getting out of the back seat took years. Funny Deb Armstrong is mentioned. I watch her videos and at my most recent clinic I was told I am bending my knees too much and not standing up straight. I admitted I watch her videos for pointers and she always has a deep knee bend or so it seems. My instructor pointed out she is a ski racer. But I still find her videos good. Good luck!

  21. Uphill day at Buttermilk. Storm fizzled out. Was supposed to get 10-20” but got 6 and yesterday was sunny and nice instead of all day snow as predicted. I wanted to go skiing yesterday but we really had a lot of stuff to did out here in Marble as my snow shovel got hurt his back and hasn’t been here for a while. my dog could just sit outside for hours scanning for any movement in the trees to chase. or up on his tall perch Our resident fox came by for a visit. Luckily my dog was inside napping at the time. The roads were nice and dry on the drive to Aspen. Decided on the easiest lap, West Buttermilk. I didn’t have my watch last time I did it but I now have the stats; exactly 1 mile and 922’ to the ski racks at Cliff house. It was 20 but felt tropical in the strong sun, I shed a layer after 15 min and took off my gloves. 56:25 to get to the top and took a quick snack break inside. When I was going down somehow I took a wrong turn, things look a lot different going down then going up. I stopped to check out the map and realized I was on the front side and there was no way I could get back to my car. So at the base I asked the liftee if he would let me in without a scan so I wouldn’t waste one of my 3 remaining days just to get back to the parking lot. He said, “You could always skin back up”. I said I could but asked if he would take pity on me and he did. So back up and went real slow until I was sure I was on the correct trail down. Whew.

  22. The bird is the word It's one of the best, it always feels like the mtn is mad at you while your skiing there but in a sexy mistress telling you you've been naughty kinda way. Most of the place is seemingly designed to be uncomfortable, beit the lodge or the tram it's always cramped and there is no where to sit down. The weather can be terrible and off the tram in particular its always windy and you can't see shit. Every way down seems steep or steep AF, there are like 2 legit greens everything else is a cat walk. It's one of my favorites on earth and very different from other hills even the other bro bra type hills. It's super challenging and if I could have grown up skiing only one hill it would probably be the bird.

  25. Clouds broke somewhere about 10:00 and immediately the snow started to soften, so headed right to Barney's which started to pop. Another hour and all of Barney's was in its prime, springtime glory. Snow was soft and fast and the bumps got deep, so switched out for bump skis. Made a quick run down Coming Soon, but it was just flat and fast, so it was back to Barney's until the legs gave out. Later in the parking lot, Tele-Butch collapsed for no apparent reason… Later heard he was tested and released from ER.
