enjoralas Posted February 28, 2018 Author Report Posted February 28, 2018 Titanic popped into my head, and I talked myself into Forest Gump. Bodyguard never even entered my thought process. I mean, that song was huge, but c’mon. I would have even though Romeo and Juliet before that. 1

Prime time lineup for NBC wasn’t in color until 67, not sure if they were first there or not
enjoralas Posted February 28, 2018 Author Report Posted February 28, 2018 I remember having a tv with the Zenith Space Command remote. It had one single button on it, and each time you pushed it the dial on the TV rotated one spot. 1

I remember the episode of the wonder years where it was color TV fever and the dad was like,"son we're not getting a color TV" I used to have a 2.3" Casio color TV..my iPhone is like 99 times better than that
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 My grandparents had a TV that only went up to channel 13 on the dial. Was all good as long as I could watch the Hogan Family.

antman12 Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Slightly off topic but (1) of the house phones I had growing up was a wall hung rotary phone. My mom finally got rid of it awhile back but i loved that thing. 1

We had that growing up. After 13 it was “U”, which you then used the little dial for the higher channels. We had 2 religion channels and like 5 Spanish channels.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And there were five of us, so if you wanted privacy you had to stretch the cord out the back door and just deal with the weather. It literally took physical effort to dial a number. 2

I miss "Wide World of Sports." Remember watching log rolling and stuff like that just because it was on, and there weren't any other options? 1

The U on a TV as NMSki said was for UHF, a TV with that was exotic, 3, 6, and 10 was it at our house. We had rotary phones for a long time, impossible to win a radio call in contest with them. 2
