Did you see that one proclamation in a California county where you could have a social gathering of 15 people, but a protest of up to 100? It's really easy to see how the general public is getting sick of this stuff, and can start to get conspiratorial when the rules are so blatantly made up and not rooted in science.

“Taught” the dog to swim today. I had her in the pool before, but she never voluntarily went in by herself. Coaxed her in today with a toy and it took about 3 times before she realized she could get in and out via the stairs as she pleased.

Yeah that’s actually a huge problem right now. My dad wears hearing aids that work via the microphone in his iPhone (crazy right?) but there’s times when he doesn’t have them in and is out around people in masks and he’s told me how much harder it is to understand people because he can’t read their lips, just faintly hear what they say. In his words “I’ve never said excuse me, can you repeat that louder?” As much in my life, and he’s only deaf in one ear. I can’t imagine what it would be like for someone whose worse off hearing wise.

So my youngest all of a sudden had a "spontaneous pneumothorax"(collapsed lung). Apparently it is a common thing with young, tall, thin males. It was a fun ER experience with the whole Covid situation and since he is technically an adult, the doctors would not only not speak to me, but I had to wait in my car for 3 hours. He needs surgery and I am trying to talk him into getting it sooner rather then later. But goddammit!!!!!!! way to have respiratory issues during a Covid pandemic.
