  1. Snow was harder than a diamond this morning....The grooming made it extra spicy too...uneven and some small bomb holes....Started to soften up after an hour or so....But still some sketch spots....Super nice seeing the sky this morning..... TCS still seems to have a good depth....They must have had a really deep base on it to last this long...

  2. Some pics from xc skiing last evening Went to Aspen today. I started my tracker on the Aspen app but it told me I skied 0 today which is a bummer. I like my stats. For Christmas week the crowds were amazing. 5-10 min lift lines and mostly empty slopes. We need snow like everyone else so conditions were somewhat icy and scrapey. But then I hear @JFskiDan’s voice in my head saying “boo hoo, Colorado is icy” Natalie in the bumps There is a jr race at Aspen tomorrow think we are going to try out Snowmass, I have never been there. after being down with the flu for over a week it felt good to ski again

  3. Snow surprisingly locked up overnight and made everything firm and fast. However, wherever a snowmobile had gone over the snow, it was soft underneath. @tarponhead showed up and lapped everything with him until the legs gave out from the soft snow on Coming Soon. Sun was out most of the morning and it was warming up fast. However around noon clouds rolled in and it began to drizzle and continued to do so while we drank beers in the lot. Vista was absolutely nutz going through there mid morning with all the beginners and crazies intermingling to try to safely navigate the mayhem. On down towards the Vista lift, there's now just a WROD funneling everyone into tight quarters which made for some jocularity. Midway was nice later, but trying to get through the Vista debacle didn't make it worthwhile. Lower Main is hurting and it'll be interesting just how wide it'll be tomorrow after the sun and traffic today. They could push some snow down from upper Main. The connector under the super six is perhaps an 1" deep now and will need some help to stay open, but who knows from where they'll get snow for that. Coming Soon was ROTD after it softened up. There was a beginner girl at the top whining to her friend she couldn't make it down because it was too steep and that she was gonna die, to which I asked her if I could have her goggles then. We told her to just traverse and she'd be fine. We didn't see her again. Upper Paradise is done, stick a fork in it. Lower Paradise is also in need of snow as a part of it is barely 1" deep and will probably be dirt by the end of today. There's pretty much nowhere to get snow so that'll be real interesting if they can't keep that open. Gonna be a fun weekend!

  4. I dont know if you need rock skis, but i might bring the dirt skis. With some edges, if you are going in the am.

  5. Don't get it wrong, it was different today but it was the best skiing of the year. You missed it.

  6. I think the closed tuesday until a total refresh on everything is quite possible. i think re opening paradise on friday will be wishful thinking. Theres not a lot of consensus between the forecasts, and to me it means temps are a coin toss. but, it could also swing super cold earlier in the week. But, the pattern has been for the cold to get moved back, so unfortunately thats how i think its gonna go. Sadly, Im not expecting great things to happen by next saturday.

  8. I skied Camelback on 12/22. It was radical. What was grate: - The Hump is steeep and had grate perd - Asp was open which is almost as fun as Hump - The gapers didn't get in my way on Hump or Asp - the slow lift was open so I could avoid the small line at Sullivan - no annoying race team everywhere!!! What was not so grate: - Unnecessary 15 minute delay at opening until 915 am on Sunbowl lift. Hopefully I get a Camelback survey to complain - too many gapers on King Tut to make it annoying. Thankfully moar trails are open now like Honey Moon. - the new Sullivan lift doesn't let you fully sit on your ski poles @atomicman You can still do a partial sit on your polls. Overall 8/10 day. Skied from 915 to 130 with a 15 min break. 2 points lost for stupid 15 minute delay. @GrilledSteezeSandwich Camelback talk

  9. Your def going to want edges in the morning. It was hard but still edgable with my park board today but any more slick and I'd need my all mountain boards edges to feel secure. Rock skis by noon would be a good idea if you really dont want to risk nice/newer gear from some minor dings.

  12. Can steal a couple of extra plastic forks and knives which will come in handy cutting up a hot dog into thirds..rumor has it, if you ski a few runs with Ski2Live, he might give you a jolly rancher he got from some office candy jar. I go right for the Reese’s or mystery dum dums

  13. That’s what I like to hear. Remember when Ski2Live was saying how the vending machines in the hotel attached to the waterpark are cheaper than in the lodge?? Could prob save tree fiddy on some steeze Itz and a bottle of fizzy pop.

  14. Was waiting for this TR! I have a sad feeling the CBK addon is going to come in handy if Blue has to do more mid week closings.

  15. Think about how many more would be sold and how much more the slopes would suck tomorrow if they were $39.

  16. Blue still has 2300 tickets available tomorrow at $114 each.

  17. Let me check with @RajeevGuptaSucheeta. Maybe he snowborded on his Burton snowbord at Camelback after toasting a goat with his sister Jaya on the roof of the Tobyhanna Dunkin Donuts.

  20. Moved the BC trip to Spring Break when more terrain will be open there. Turned out they got a decent amount open, but it was looking shakey when I had to make the call. Had fun at Snow, Stowe and Okemo instead.

  22. They are allegedly world famous and I can see why, there has to be 80 stalls and a 100 urinals, all immaculate. I didn't even have to go but when in Rome. A bucees at kop would absolutely destroy, lv too though the amount of land they require would make most of the NE impossible.

  23. I had a rare night session last night. Wow did they take a beating snow wise since the weekend. I really enjoy night skiing but the clientele is absolute trash. Saw numerous snowballs from the 6 pack towards people on the learning hill, people yelling profanities towards people on the learning hill, etc.

  24. Let's go ski Camelback today. Only $149 to ski some snirt. We can carpool from the I-80 Tannersville truck stop so you'll save $12 on parking

  25. I didn’t go today. I just didn’t feel like it. A darn shame as tomorrow will be worse snow and more crowded.
