I first came to Utah in 2000 with all 30 some members of my family and for at least a decade straight a group of us came every year so I for sure will always have massive rose colored glasses for Mormon adjacent skiing. I left Newark yesterday at 7am Est and was skiing at 1245 MST. They got 5 inches the night before and no one was home, so I ripped the big dog groomers where fun and low effort intersect. Keno, Tycoon, Naboob they have endless fast interesting medium pitch groomers served by endless high speed lifts. I had to be back at the airport to pick up family members but I racked up 17 runs of by far the best snow I've skied all year. We went Thai from in town and I ate mad Penang curry and passed out fat and happy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was supposed to snow like an inch overnight but we woke to it nuking and six inches on the ground. Massive, wet, PNW like flakes it was most definitely very un-Joseph Smith like. My brother and I were out the house early on a mission to get Steins untracked, we found 30% water, mariana trenching snow. It's kinda windy windy and the snow is coming down 2" an hr kinda hard so vis is negative ray Charles on the skate from the top of Wasatch. I can find it in my sleep but I almost end up down Powderhorn it's all just white. All my money is on finding the pines on the left before the first headwall. The wind is coming over the back and left side will be plump if I can find some vis. Left side trees show up right before my luck runs out and bam its on. Boot deep chunder turns, where the snow comes off in sheets. My brother who was 15ft behind me is who the fuck knows where, you still can't see shit but I'm not stopping. , Where it's normally hot to trot its all straight down the fall line and you can jump off everything........ Best run since I went to the pnw and I still can't see anyone out. Peeps did eventually show up but until 1pm or so we did nothing but untracked........... Easy right off Ontario bowl nobody home, all of lady Morgan except the green nobody home, pretty much anything in the woods nobody was home. My brother claimed best sleeper day since the Pow Mow days. It was the sloppiest snow I've ever seen in UT and it was so, so, so much fun. Dinner was low key Italian from the place at the St Regis top golf because we ate mad seafood at Rime for lunch. All of my pics look like the second one just white and trees but my brother got one of me later in the day so you know I'm not joshing.18 points

Really nice day up at Montage. Probably the most crowded I have ever seen the place but 75% of the people were on the learning hill. Lots of buses. I thought they started allowing uphill but it was just gapers trying to get off of the harder trails because they got lost. Long Haul was running and I rode that for the first time in my life since it was never open every other time that I have been there. Even thought the lifts there are slow, I can't really complain about the place. The snow was great and the trails are a lot of fun there. Nice to get back there and always a good time. 8.5/10 for a PA day.10 points

Really good conditions at BC tonight....They produced some product last night,so there were some decent sized piles here and there...and It's kinda cool they let you ride on them while they drain....Big school night...Couple of times the line stretched..Even the stoner college kids runnin the lift were helping fill chairs....Coverage wise they are back in the game for a lil while...But still need to do some work here and there for a solid base...Fun evening..7 points

My kids had a teacher in elementary school with the last name "Onderdonk". Boy was it a mistake calling her "Mrs. Badonkadonk" within their earshot.6 points

last night was good, true packed powder and pretty smooth. Need some wax though, the natty snow is slow. Did 6 runs in exactly 1 hour which is a pretty good pace for me. headed over to stroudsburg to catch the Tele Colo movie and scored some Platty vouchers in the raffle6 points

If people aren't grouping up on their own in the VIP line, we actively "help" people group up just so the line moves along quicker.4 points

I saw snow in the forecast from a clipper and they are fully open for the first time in 2 years on presidents weekend.....that's a powerful combo of fuckery. They jacked up bcc yesterday at noon, noon on a Thursday wtf Even if I lived here I would still go back to blue a couple days a year. To see everyone for sure but also to keep it real so everyone still knows I'm Jenny from the block.4 points

Made it up with my Valentine’s dates for 6-8 and a stop for dinner. Tried to get in Slopeside at the bar high tops but they said it was a 30 minute wait. Ended up at Last Run Lounge with loaded tots and a chicken cordon blue sandwich. Light crowds and snow wasn’t completely frozen solid so it was a good time.3 points

The VIP line was doing so well for a while. People actively making groups of 6 and then jumping ahead of the lift ticket holder line. Once the pairer upper dude left it was the same old mess. Now it's anyone's guess as to how efficient it is going.2 points

All 3 lifts running and backed up to gates. A worker is pairing people up on the quad which is rad. Snow is mostly 10 out of 10 except Midway is cookies for some reason. Only Stoke stomper is the dang wind from the north which is cutting my speed by 34%2 points

Skied from 915-130. I didn’t feel the lift lines were that long, we use the season pass line, and I felt it was helpful. Nice snow conditions all day. I guess all the weekenders will get rid of all the cookies on Switchback and Sidewinder for us folks that ski during the week. 😎2 points

Good riding with ya....Yea crowds were low and the snow was good.....Colder than I thought it was gonna be....2 points

Great conditions, fierce wind blowing up the hill. Blowing still on sidewinder, Switch open but very marbley as expected for first day. Everything else very nice. Razors stayed open. Freefall and Challenge very edgeable . Pretty crowded though with schools off today. Third run up the quad the line was backed up halfway to the gates in the corral. By 1015 all three lifts were backed up to the gates.1 point

I would absolutely, positively NOT park at Stevie for 7:30 tomorrow. You'll end up standing there until 8:30 most likely. The only option for first Tr@x is Big Black Bear 6, then migrate over to Stevie around 815.1 point

Looks like consensus, aside from NWS, is that it's shifting north a bit. Maybe blue will get a good thump.1 point

Geez, glad I saved the $40 it costs for blue and played hockey this morning instead. I’ll be prepared for the madness this weekend though1 point

All slopes in pretty good shape except Midway and the area above (though better than yesterday). Quad was running better than yesterday, although still had some delays. By 10 the line for the quad was backed up to the gates. No sign of starting challenge express by the time I left at 11. Noticed a lot of the trails are groomed out a lot wider than previously, particularly freefall.1 point

Myself and other VIPs were doing just that as much as possible, and it was a beautiful thing seeing peak efficiency filling each chair with 6. Once the lift organizer disappeared I gave that up as it was back to everyone doing their own thing in their own little worlds1 point

My hope of skiing this afternoon was quickly squashed when I looked at the web cams. I'll pass on the crowd. From what I can tell, the VIP line at the Challenge lift looks small and only a short wait at least.1 point

Season passholder line is working well. 3 minute wait while lines are almost double backed up beyond the gates. This is grate. That's my boy Bleu!!!1 point

It's pretty rad out here. Except lots of gapers out constantly fucking up boarding the lift which is getting annoying. I see dirt wolf sometimes. They'd better get the middle six pack running or it will be a cluster soon and all week-end long. JFDan will have to badger them on social media again.1 point

Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 830 and it was sunny with a temperature of 27 degrees with moderate winds. In the house were Atomic Jeff, C1er and the Bethlehem ford crew. I started on the quad which began about a minute late and had about a five minute stoppage halfway up the first ride. First run I skied Challenge and it was a carpet. Any thought of wet snow refreezing and becoming firm was out the window. It was true packed powder. Second run on Main street very nice similar conditions but a little slow. Nightmare to dreamweaver was super good, better than challenge. Liftlines of a few minutes formed real fast on the quad which a shorter wait for the super summit safari six pack. The OG six was not running. I skied my first razors of the year and super good a few iffy grooming spots with a hole on the far lower skiers left. I skied razors three times and skied another Main Street which had a few slick spots exposed. All in all a fun session but with lifetimes and a few other lift stoppages was a super slow pace with 7 runs in 76 minutes. I might be back Friday AM if not then ski everybody Saturday. I’ve been watching ticket sales and Saturday could be a sellout.1 point

Evening session 4:30 - 8 everything good some fantastic, many repeats... except Lower Main which was choppy. Pleasent suprise that Lazy had held up and was an 8.5/10. Challange fast and predictable all the way down. Been a while since i skied under the lights and was suprised at how good I was able to pick up terrain and surface conditions...imagine how good it will be if they ever get around to replacing the rest of the old HPS with LED. Thought for sure there would be an after-school/ after-work wave given the big dump but it never materialized, mostly ski on or at most 2 - 3 chairs wait. guns still blasting on Sidewinder and Switchback, as well as the fan guns most everywhere they had them. Going to get some more this weekend.1 point

41, hit 44 a couple of days ago on Razors bottom headwall, but that doesn’t really count since I wasn’t on my edges. Otherwise nothing above 40 at Blue this year. Getting cautious in my old age.1 point

Challenge Express started up about 1030 after the quad had extended pauses on every trip up. Every slope was in great shape except the section above midway that had some big groomer gouges hiding in the shadows. Strong wind blowing up the hill, but not too bad on more protected slopes. Guns going full blast on Sidewinder and Switch, neither were open. Glades were sketchy if you care about your equipment. Hit one of my higher speeds of the year on lower Main.1 point
