It continued to snow at Bogus through the weekend and @Boo Bearand I were able to get back to the mountain Monday. The drive up was way better without bad weather slowing it down. They claimed 2 inch fresh last 24 hrs, 29” for the last week. Little overcast to start with sunshine peaking out throughout the day. Hit every lift and dipped in to the trees for fresh chest shots when I could split off. Didn’t find the terrain that difficult unless bush whacking through some trees. Awesome day and views were great. Other Boise things we hit with our friends and kids while out there: Payette Brewing, Science Center, Zoo, World Center for Birds of Prey, Brown Beard Brewing, Boise State University and 13th St Pub & Grill. Red eye back was delayed and didn’t take off until almost 1 am but still made it to PHL at 930 as expected.9 points

Good day to start off the new year. Soft, fast snow, bumps, cold pizza (thanks @mbike-ski), beer, falling temps, short work week...3 points

What Indiggio said and I remember when switchback was left au natural, it was like Antelope at Mad River Glen..spicy2 points

The problem is that the base is boiler/ice, there's no way around that until temps come up enough to soften it. Seeded or natural are both gonna get rutted/icy, if it's freezing out, unless it either snows or they blow snow, and even then that's just gonna get skied out. Gotta learn to ski where the soft snow is and avoid the icy ruts. There's more than one way to ski bumps... We're always talking that they should let Switchback go completely natural like they did after the one big snowstorm a few years back, but they'll never do it. Hell, some people were even complaining the other day about the random bumps in Coming Soon ditch!2 points

Nope, we had to. They'll probably hold off on seeding Barney's for a bit yet, after the cold kicks in and they can blow some more snow on the area, after freshening up all the skid marks elsewhere.2 points

Hey All, I’m finished with another morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 720am and it was 43 degrees under overcast sky’s. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Mixilplix, JFDan, Mute, KevinThomas, Bethlehem ford Crew, Slim, Indiggio, Schifdawg, Nancy, MBike Mike, Dirtwolf and a handful of others. First civilian OG six pack, I began on Challenge and it wasn’t great but better than yesterday..firm cord, sidewinder was nicer than yesterday and nightmare dreamweaver was good bad good bad and good depending on the section of the run. Main Street sadly wasn’t that good, lazy was OK…later in the session things softened more and Coming soon was ok, Sidewinder got real good and I repeated it twice and upper razors was nice spring snow. All in all a fun session and now that my report is published, I can relax the rest of the day. I’ll be back either Friday AM or Saturday. Tomorrow gonna go right to work 😞. JADIP1 point

Another fun day at Blue. Nice frozen cord everywhere, along with some cookies, depending on what side of the trail you were on. Saw the resident bald eagle couple flying about, and the juvenile.1 point

Not a big fan of seeded bumps but I do like bumps. The seeded bumps tend to get rutted and icy . Timing is everything. I would prefer natural bumps but they don’t seem to develop like they used to before snowboard s came out.1 point

No I forgot, I'll have to remember to fire up the webcams on Saturday morning while I'm riding the Big Black Bear Bonanza Six chair lift at Camelback and enjoying First Trāx on Marjorie's Delight. That will be rad. Massive bonus points if I catch a glimpse of Matt Edge.1 point

Oh, and heard bald eagle chortling at the bottom of TCS, then saw him/ her flying around. Saw the immature bald eagle, too. Then checked the nest out before leaving- 2 white heads in the nest, so exciting.1 point

But definitely a fun day today. Soft snow, little bumps, lots of runs. Back tomorrow for more, then I won’t be back until Wednesday. Rented a cabin at Worlds End for a couple days. That should be good fun, as well. Going to take some winter hikes.1 point
