We already have our season (300") in. Base depth of 140, which is a new record I think. They had to extend the snow stake, anyway. Unfortunately, the body count is two so far, the second guy has not been found after a week of searching. I've been having a rough year, however, and not been out anywhere near as much as usual.6 points

My name is Connor. My family comes from Ireland and I love to snowboard. My favorite music genres are techno and electro-swing. I'm currently posting this from an iPhone X. There... You all know me now.5 points

Fair enough, Doug and root are right. I'm a piece of shit who deserved this injury. Anyway, big shout out to shadows, barb, toast, nmski, mbikeski, ant man, Sally, ridge, and anyone I forgot (my apologies). The good vibes you guys sent me means a lot and legit uplifted my spirits4 points

I'm trying to keep a glass half full attitude, which is not what I usually do: 1. I didn't die in an avalanche and cliff fall, so I got that going for me. 2. At least I got 1 full day out west, including a run I'll never forget 3. 2000/2001 was my first season, and this is only my second injury 4. I look out the window and see snow, which is better than rain 5. Probably will not need surgery 6. Still got to ride most of the season3 points

Definitely going to get this pass next year. Pretty excited about it. It will force me to revisit NE which I haven’t been to in years. If I could get in two trips out west that would be great. At least one where I can hit multiple places, or five days at one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Just realized I can get my son a teen pass one more year. It goes by his age the date of purchase. Old pass would have been his age 11/1/18.2 points

Nobody can get to JFK in 2 hrs 8 mins. Google maps and gps’s dont acount for the fact that NYC is just the most fucked up place to drive in the world. Going to JFK to fly direct is conterproductive.2 points

No planning needed..booked airfare the other day and will wait a little to book rental car as rates are variable and are often the lowest a few weeks out. I'll probably stay at the silver inn again in silverthorne. It was something like $85-90 a night and it's a couple hundred yard walk to an Irish pub that has corned beer nachos and double jack and cokes for under $9 each.2 points

I skied Mammoth on July 3rd last summer. If they have the snow, they really commit to staying open. It's also a great spring-skiing option because they salt their snow, so you get soft, hero spring conditions without the sticky/grabby quality of most spring snow.2 points

Great! ill use my cheap pass and ride weekday nights and 8-10 on weekends and not worry about the crowds.2 points

I think someone once told me mountainous rental areas are required to at least offer chains to you; denver, slc etc.1 point

I only recognize GSS when I see him at Blue. Because he always wears the same thing. I would recognize Kevin and Justin without helmet/ goggles from going to Nestors. Other than that, I have no clue what anyone else looks like.1 point

I just assumed everyone pretty much knew everyone else IRL since it's a local forum, after all. Then I posted a link to facebook and was sort of "warned" that people here could find out my real name, etc. I mean, yeah, but...do what with it? I'm Chris, I'm boring and have cats and suck at skiing but am excellent at parallel parking, shooting free throws, and drinking IPAs. So I joke and snark around and curse on PASR. That would surprise exactly nobody who knows me IRL.1 point

It's not like we all don't pretty much know each other on here anyway. Ok...well I guess not many of the new people know me but whatever... This place is like skiers and sliders anonymous... I'm John, I'm fat, I like to ski and drink shandy's There you know me... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

TP4...I know you're down because of your injury....so I'm going to cut you some slack and not change all your days to Brokeback Mountain for parking in my spot. I don't know much about meniscus tears...are you on crutches?1 point

Lol. I actually met John Oates once. He rented a car from me when I worked at an airport rental counter in college. We chatted a bit during the paperwork, etc.. He was super nice and surprisingly short!1 point

Happy to share my passes, but next year it will only be 25% off. Eaf are you looking at trips this season or next?1 point

If slopeside isn't a necessity look at Midvale or cottonwood heights. Close to LCC and BCC with plenty of ski shuttle stops. The Crystal Inn is nice, affordable and has a shuttle stop right out front. Only downside is distance from Ogden (as Toast alluded to) in the event you were looking to ski the areas out there. But if you're looking to ski the resorts on the ikon its a good option.1 point

SLC is super easy. If it is snowing, the canyon roads are rough. But staying centrally in SLC allows you to go south to Park City areas, stay in BCC, LCC, and the ability to go north to Ogden area. I'm thinking next year I need to get back to Utah since it has been three years now.1 point

Very true; The North Lake Tahoe area is getting hit with a couple of feet of snow this weekend, it looks like. That might be a better bet this spring if anything there is on a pass you have. For me, the great thing about spring skiing in the west is not having to pay for lodging. I just packed some basic backpacking gear and camped out. Rent a van and sleep in it, etc. Newark or Philly to Reno. Why would you go to JFK from here? I can see the appeal of SLC, too, though, as far as logistics. No idea what the drive up that Canyon is like, though.1 point

Eaf, a few trips to Vermont and a trip out west would pay for this pass. I think some people will jump ship from the Epic Pass this year in favor of the Ikon. It definitely benefits Colorado the most. I think Winter Park is going to see a lot more traffic. Unless I am staying overnight, I can't justify doing day trips to the I-70 mountains on weekends. I can deal with the crowds because you can get some good runs in if you go early, but the traffic is a nightmare. I do get sick of Eldora, but its like you guys with Blue. I can be there in 35 minutes and it doesn't take up my whole day. Next closest is Winter Park which is 1 hour 45 min. Hoping to check out some new places with the Ikon, maybe Aspen, and I still have yet to go to Steamboat.1 point

No I did it on foot with a pullcart a bag...it was cool I had like $8,000 saved by the time I was 15 then I also worked at Rita's Italian ice, Wendy's, mowed lawns and did telemarketing late in high school and early in college. Funny this is the summer before college I saved up $4,000 from my telemarketing job and if I had put that in Amazon stock, it would be work $8 million today. http://articles.mcall.com/1995-06-08/news/3031718_1_ski-areas-carriers-call1 point

This fuckhead at the bar is always talking about how much better snowboarding is how he was an expert skier and switched to boarding because he plateaued and how he now only skis in Europe like one trip every two years..that's not even a real skier/rider to me. I'll make a mental note not to engage him anymore. And he has a condo in Florida that he frequently visits to ski/ride..what kind of skier/rider would have a condo in Florida unless they were a rollercoaster enthusiast like Enjorales and ILikeIceCream also in the middle of this some busted chick came over to him and kissed him..I guess it's his girlfriend. So he won't ride in PA but will publicly be seen with an ugly chick...I'm shake shake shaking my Herman!!!1 point

Leave Blue as it is, the benefits of say a Vail are outweighed by the negatives.1 point
