Saturday am and Sunday pm. Super Bowl night is my favorite night to ski5 points

I skied Spring Mountain last night more for the nostalgia than the skiing. I learned to ski there and try to get back once a year but it's been a few years. Conditions were dust on crust but edge-able. Lift line on the west side was ski-on or a chair or two wait. I had heard that they had an All Weather snowmaking system. This was the first time I saw it and it was blowing out "snow" at 45 degrees. I think it is essentially a sno cone machine inside that blows the shavings out onto the slopes. The production was low and it appears that it would take a long time to cover a slope. When I left around 7:00 there were a lot of kids in well organized group lessons on the main slope. Good to see that they are doing well. SMI All Weather Snowmaking Video.MOV4 points

Work was up my butt the last two days so got out this morning with c1er. A little hard in spots first thing but generally hyper soft super carving snow. Widow, le chute, lower continues to donate boners. NMDW was also primo but in 5 tries I couldn't get a clean release, no matter the gap I built I was picking up strays but you so nice to do high speed arcs to air in the soft. Busy from the drop, nothing insane but lots of racers and doodle turn types. While the weather is hyper nice it's gotten to the point where it is February and should be colder.3 points

The past 3 days have been perfect. Great snow, great weather and great company.3 points

Some spring conditions at BC tonight....Pretty firm under a nice layer of snow cone stuff....You could really ride the turn....On snow about 4:30.....Couple of buses/courtyard packed...But little action on the hill...After an hour the lift line started to get annoying .....Rode another half hour and out at six....Fantastic snow and got some good turns in....3 points

And I was debating on going this week instead of last week. UGH Storm Total: 55 Inches The snow just keeps on stacking up! We received another 18 inches of powder over the last 24 hours bringing the 72-hour storm total up to 55 inches! After all the recent snowfall, our season snowfall now sits at 140 inches of snowfall so far this winter season!2 points

Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot around 830am and it was 31 degrees in the valley and 36 at the summit entrance…mad inversion Yo! In the house were Atomic Jeff, TP4, C1er and the Bethlehem ford crew. First run on Main Street was soft packed powder on the top and firmer below but very smooth..you didn’t have to stay in your lane. Second run was nightmare ti dreamweaver very very nice groomed packed powder. Third run was challenge, not as good as Tuesday but still real nice, fourth run repeat of challenge. Fifth run skied Widowmaker which was ok to chute which was nice to lower Main Street. Sixth run skied challenge again. Seventh run was Coming soon which had some mini cookies and kind of slick, 8th run was lazy to the falls which was excellent smooth and empty, 9th run nightmare to dreamweaver and 10th and final run I repeated lazy to the falls again. Crowds were light and mellow and there were about 6 school buses and lots of kids on the learning hill. JADIP1 point

Hey All, It’s almost another weekend, is anybody planning on skiing Blue mountain the true mountain this weekend? I plan on Saturday and Sunday morning. Looks like mild weather which will hopefully make for some hero snow.1 point

They’ve only sold about 100 8 hour tickets for tomorrow and Sunday in the last day…when it feels like springtime on a February morning keeps some of the TDH’s at home.1 point

We checked out Garlic, Jax, Wobbly Barn, not to much going on there midweek. Met some cool people on the ganjola rides from locals to tourists we rode around with. VT seems to have an extra cool vibe now that they went rec legal.1 point

Core shot my ass lol , Some embellishment , I was skiing with him and he stopped an hour later and checked. Barely a flesh wound. Although there were random rocks all over the place. He has a point about that.1 point

I just refill my wawa cup. My morning ride is close to an hour so I just make it some days. I made a relief system for when I fly I call it “ Polish Bagpipes “ Rubber roofing material bladder with a 1” vinyl hose, I haven’t filled it yet in a 6 hr flight. 😁1 point

Not according to Slim who posted on Blue’s FB that he took a core shot with brand new skis 😂 I skied it and found it enjoyable, even though I did ski around some rocks I made it up for an hour this afternoon. All 3 lifts spinning with a light crowd. I got scared seeing the usually row packed until I realized the front was blocked off. Walked with the one lifties to the snow and he said the rumor is they blocked it off to save spots for buses at night 👎🏼 I did pass a bunch of tour buses headed that way when I was on my way home It was all you can get soft serve this afternoon with dashes of sunlight for a nice time.1 point

That’s the yuge area roped off. You can fit fifty buses or 100 food trucks in the space 🙃 I’m old and park close to the mens room. Maybe I should hold off on the coffee?1 point

Better than the extra four inches I gave an old lady earlier. Sheesh 34” for the price of a 30” at last years pricing, I’ll be darn lucky if I can afford gas go get to the Tuesday Perder day..at least my battery should work, can’t take that for granite knock on wood.1 point

I'll be there both days with bells on, back in the olden days Sunday would be quiet but I wonder if even Taylor can impact the numbers.1 point

Grate. I'll propose a trade to the leader of the race team clan. Maybe I'll throw in a couple of Captains Wafers to sweeten the deal.1 point

Just saw this today, but what a dream it was. Le Chute and Challenge were just hitting so good. Sorry I didn’t make it out yesterday, completely forgot about some commitments. Today (2/7) was almost as good…almost. But the psia guys were back and it was a hair bit icier. Monday morning was an absolute banger though1 point

Getting another big storm. I have an avalanche class in Silverton that starts Thursday morning. We planned to drive here the day before. But the storm is rolling in now and tomorrow is going to be heavy. So we made the executive decision to come to Silverton today and stay an extra day. Once we got to Ouray, we could see the hell we would be driving into. Red mountain pass is not one of my favorites to drive on a clear sunny day. At the top and all the way down into Silverton we were in a white out pretty much. Glad we made it. Just got word that Red mountain pass AND Molas pass from the Durango side will close at 10pm tonight with no time listed for reopening. So not sure what will even happen with this class. Forecast says 1-3 feet by Thursday morning. Towards the bottom of the pass heading into Silverton.1 point
