Took this one yesterday AM before the mountain opened. Was some cool fog in the valley. Looked clear at Camelback...could almost see their massive whales from Blue.

I think the distinction here is most of us never cared enough to even realize that Blue is using stock photos on their webpage. I don't even know what some of Blue's competition's webpages look like or if they also use stock images and I also don't care if they do/don't.

The 2nd week in December is looking good for some non-stop snow making if the long range forecast holds. Would likely see the 6pack open late that weekend on the 8/9th or sometime mid-week. Hopefully it holds.

I dont really know if there is a superstar weather app. I guess it depends sort of what you are looking for, short range, or long range, and by long range i mean a week. Accuweathers 90 day outlook is a joke. i watch the weather alot for work. I usually compare 3 sites, accuweather, weatherbug, and weather underground(same as accuweather btw). If all 3 say its going to rain tomorrow, its pretty likely that will happen. if they all sort of show something different, then roll the dice, pick one. I am pretty sure those three base their forecast off of different models. Dark sky is kind of a cool app. Forecast Adviser is interesting, being it shows the accuracy of different sites. EPAWA is kind of interesting. Problem with weather apps and such is how often they are updated throughout the day.

After randomly deciding we should head to Blue for some more vertical, we pulled into the upper lot around 130ish and were on the snow by about 145 with the agreement to leave around 4. I believe I saw some other Pasrs hanging out with @indiggio although im not sure. Apologies for not stopping, I wasn't too familiar with anyone. Like BB the snow was a lot of fun and we enjoyed riding some longer runs and some side trail fun. The park was meh, but I didn't have any expectations. Although I could ride the rail below in my backyard for 8 hours straight and never be bored. My biggest complaint about Blue is their snow making and the rain made that a non factor. They far exceeding our expectations and we had a blast.

They have guns there. Put guns on the new trail that was supposed to open in 2016.

Not for anything but it is stupid as shit. It's like someone from the marketing department googled "skiing" and copied / pasted a random photo of people smiling on some random slopes and posted it not realizing the above treeline peaks behind the random people. I didn't want to feed the troll but it is bad form on Blues part. That's said I don't know if I'd call that false advertising either. Most ski areas are more egregious when it comes to false advertising with their base measurements or snowfall totals.

Jackson hole is getting dumped on, up to 36” total expected up high in the next three days. They need it. About a 15-30” base so far from mid mountain up.. i haven’t seen this video from one of Jackson holes first seasons 50 years ago in a few years and it’s amazing!!!

Rode at the Bush today. We opened up to the top today. There’s been a ton of natural snow already this season, so most of the mountain off Heaven’s Gate is open. I got to hit first tracks on Birdland. The snow was dense, but I didn’t hit anything. It’s always great painting on a blank canvas. It got frigid later in the day, and lots of stuff got snirty, but to be on the natural terrain this early is unheard of.
