  1. Day 7 - Revelstoke day 2 Day broke with more clouds at the top but the promise of clearing skies held hope that we could actually see something other than white and trees. Temps were also supposed to be reasonably comfortable in the upper 20’s. It already felt warm while packing up the car. Up the box and down to the Ripper lift. Ran Burn Down to warm up the aching legs and then back up to repeat laps of Glades of Glory. It seems to have the best snow and tons of fun searching for residual powder stashes. It also started snowing. After lunch the sun finally broke and we headed out to the top and other side of the mountain now that we could see something. We headed out to South bowl to get some Jalapeño, Hot Sauce and Tally-Ho glades. We even ventured OOB into some trees alongside Jalapeño for some deep piles of perder. They’re talking some major expansion here with a new lift to the very top that’s surely going to piss of the locals that hike to get the goods. Morning skies & boot dryer setup… Snow’s deep…

  2. Definitely a great day! Thanks for the pass Salty first few runs were a bit drizzly. Had some warp speed runs early with the PASR gang. Sun popped out for a short time in the afternoon. After a beer in the parking lot I headed back to ski bump’s which were awesome. Skied with the bump crew for a while. All the young bucks bailed leaving the geriatric crew . Myself Paul and Marvin quit around 2:30 after my legs had enough. Beers in the lot with Paul and mbMike . Pauls brother got married in VT and there were some leftover beers . Left 3:30 ish

  3. Wrapped things up nicely on Friday, which was a beautiful sunny day. Started out with a nice long perfect groomer from the very top of lift 2 all the way down to the bottom of the backside. Perfect corduroy and no people so I could really let them run. Seas really hoping that the Kachina peak lift would open since it hadn’t run since Monday and there was fresh snow the past few days. My wish was granted at about 10:30 when I saw it was loading and I immediately hopped in line. I was probably about the 20th or so chair, and even though it was tracked up under the lift from patrol, i traversed out to the K chutes and was able to get an untouched foot or more of powder straight down K4. Brought my son up a couple times and brought my daughter up as well. Aside from a nice lunch at the Bavarian, I basically just skied Kachina peak all day in the sun and it was magical. Back in Albuquerque now and heading back to PA tomorrow.

  4. Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 715am and in the house were Johnny Law, Atomic Jeff, Schifdawg, Salty, BenM, Airhead, Pops, Enjorales, Mixilplix, MBike Mike, Nastar. Glenn, Bethlehem Ford Crew, Mute, BooBear, Becky Boo and many others. First run I skied challenge which was nice soft smooth snow but some mini rollers…Razors was better as no rollers and I skied that twice and then hit up nightmare to dreamweaver which was also good but a lot of mini thin spots showing. Main Street was full on spring conditions and Widowmaker to midway was quite nice. Lazy mile to the falls was also really good and empty which was a treat and paradise had the same hero snow as the other trails..no edges needed. I ended up skiing 11 runs by 930..then hungout in the parking lot and enjoyed some beers. No chips today as JFDan was gone. It also only rained for a few runs lightly and was foggy a few runs as well but not bad. All in all conditions were better than expected and crowds were less than expected. JADIP

  7. Toy plane flyover tomorrow from the west some time around 10, on my way to Joysee. Hold onto your hats and secure your tropical plants as the mighty Rotax engine goes full power directly overhead the parking lot.

  8. Lol that coffee is what I look forward to for the first hour and 25 mins of my trip. Interestingly I’m not even a daily coffee drinker, usually a 50/50 chance if I have a cup. But holy shit do I need that pre-snowboarding coffee…im horrible at mornings. As Doug and salty have pointed out in the lift lines, I’ve been stopping at McDonald’s a fair amount for a few reasons…it’s quicker, I don’t have to get out of the car, and I don’t have to worry about losing my mind when I leave the wawa and want to make a right turn onto 145 at the traffic light but the one car in front of me is going straight. However, their coffee is straight ass and they brew it so hot it’s hard to drink before cherryville. Thus, I’ve been going to wawa again recently. Bummed out I lost both my Whitehall bathrooms for the way home…Burger King is drive thru only I think, and Exxon bathroom now requires a key. I have to use the turnpike rest stop bathroom, which is a pain in the ass. Since I drink a water bottle to blue, a coffee to blue, a water bottle at blue, and a water bottle from blue, I usually have to stop at the KOP turnpike rest stop as well, which is very convenient but still a pain in the ass

  9. Was @Benm there? His stats say he hasn't skied since 1/8. @GrilledSteezeSandwich as the stats manager you should be all over this.

  13. Actually, we're out on Montage. Looked up those promo tickets I bought and this whole weekend is blacked out. We'll be at Blue.

  14. I like it very much! Very comfy and kudos for getting it open this season. This song came to mind watching all the snowboarders walling from Burma . They’ll probably address this over the summer

  15. Yeah, looks like we are going to hit Montage tomorrow. Wish they had a trail report posted that was newer than Thursday though

  16. BenM was there and I’m aware of his lackadaisical attitude towards the stats manager..quite honestly I’m a bit let down by this and when I cool off and clear my head I’ll begin plotting a solution.

  19. What a pleasant surprise today, it was like at least zillion times better than last weekend. Except Challenge was the suck-a-roni, but everything else was pretty grate.

  23. Raining super hard here now. @theprogram4 I'd say to skip wawa and shave off 15m but I I'd be super upset if I didn't see you riding down with coffee, so don't do that.

  24. Sweet, I picked up a variety 12 pack of juicy and hazy and fruity and plain IPAs. A few years ago for our end of season party, PSUFlyGuy brought a bottle of the screwball peanut butter bourbon and I had about three shots of it in between sandwiches. This years end of season party day I’m gonna try to tone it down.

  25. Had to check it out after you posted. Messing around, found this really cool shot in the submitted 360 pics: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.820945,-75.5132217,3a,75y,12.1h,73.98t/data=!3m8!1e1!3m6!1sAF1QipPKeBfU0_qzhzc37_KcXDpt-rzYykKhoe_k8j9g!2e10!3e11!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipPKeBfU0_qzhzc37_KcXDpt-rzYykKhoe_k8j9g%3Dw203-h100-k-no-pi-10-ya340-ro0-fo100!7i8192!8i4096

  27. Day 6 - Revelstoke day 1 Digs are now boy 10 mins from mountain, but I was up at usual dark o’clock, ready to hit the newly fallen perder. Arrived in the lot some 10 minutes later and the summit was wicked in and snow continued to fall. It was too warm for the snow to stick to the valley roads, but the s ow on the mountain was excellent. Boarded the gondi which is a strange one in that you take your skis/board on with you. An annoying characteristic is that it’s not a single gondi, so at mid mountain you have to get out and load up into another box. Started out n Last Spije just to get bearings. Higher up the mountain received around 8” and more in trees. Second lap of the gondi we took the Stoke lift to the top. Mistake! Cloud layer had the top socked in, in addition to the falling snow. We felt our way down off the top through the zero visibility. After that fiasco we decided to head over to the Ripper lift, as the altitude was lower. We discovered the Glades of Glory that was empty, and had spectacular, deep powder. It was so good in there, we kept lapping it. The weather can change instantly. On one run down the woods the wind picked up and turned the place into a snow globe. Unfortunatelycwith the socked in conditions, nobody would hike the cliff. Revelstoke is no joke. If you’re coming here and can’t ski steep trees and/or bump lines, you may want to change destinations. This mountain is the real deal! It’s got Jackson bear by a mile in terms of terrain. Dinner was lasagna at the River City Pub which was quite tasty alongside a draft IPA. Morning snow… Various ski pics… Clouds rolled in in seconds! Came across this ski rig. Turns out the guy is from Bucks county PA!

  29. Friday 2/24: We flew United from PHL to Denver flight 3:30pm flight. The airplane seemed old and didn't even have movies to watch which sucked. We arrived with no issues. I think it was in the 40's when we landed. We got off the flight and headed towards baggage. Our bags showed up very quickly and so did our ski bags. Unfortunately, we saw a guy take a ski bag that looked exactly like ours but we assumed he would have checked the sticker. He clearly didn't because we grabbed "our" ski bag only to find out it wasn't ours. So we rushed to customer service who called and got in touch with the person. He was on this way to his rental car so he eventually looped back around. It was really frustrating because who doesn't check the name on the bag. He was very apologetic though. We headed over to Budget to get our 4runner. It took quite a while but no issues. We were finally on our way to Breckenridge around 8/9pm. Dark drive but clear roads which I was thankful about. Our house was about 15 minutes outside of Breck and sat about 11,500 in elevation so we were all huffing and puffing. Saturday 2/25: We slept in a little bit and headed to the mountain around 9am only to find traffic was terrible because it was a gorgeous blue bird day. After about 45 minutes of driving and finding parking, we got a spot and finally headed to the gondola to hit the mountain. Perfect day of skiing. A bit warm but we cruised blues all day on Peak 7 and 8 with 2 of the people who aren't super great skiers. We stopped for lunch and a beer than headed back out for more runs. We ended up calling it quits around 3pm. He headed back to the house and sat in the hot tub. The other half of the group went off and skied alot of the mountain. it was super crowded since it was such a nice day but it was a nice low key day Sunday 2/26: A lot less crowded. We had no issues driving into town and finding parking. We were on the mountain around 9:30am with clear blue skies again. We skied Peaks 7 and 6. We ended up calling it a day around 1pm so my husband and I could walk around town and grab food and drinks. We had hopes of doing a group dinner in town Saturday night but it was snowing pretty hard. By the time we were ready to leave 1 car was stuck in the snow so we stayed in and made dinner. Monday 2/27: Best day of skiing. No crowds, fresh snow, blue skies. We got to the mountain early and took a few easy runs to warm up. We did a bunch of tree runs. After lunch we headed up the t-bar to horseshow bowl. We got on the t-bar and Nick sat a little hard and the bar disappeared from my behind and I was dropped haha Luckily it was only about 20 feet so we skied back down and got in line again. Second attempt at the t-bar was successful. We had alot of fun in the bowls. We skied until close and took the easy trail all the way down to the parking lot. The group met up and we headed to dinner at the Kenosha Steakhouse. Food was alright but good atmosphere. It was our last night so we ate and walked around a bit. Tuesday 2/28: Flight home was uneventful. It was a fun trip. I hadn't been out west skiing in a few years so it was nice to be back. That's all I got for now.

  30. I think the new lift is a positive addition to my favorite pocono ski area. I enjoy the different perspective on the ride up, more to watch. The placement of the top station provides much better access for a windowmaker/midway/chute, or vista/burma run. The bottom station could have been moved up 20 or 30 feet to give more loading space? It has helped a lot of people discover the joys of the little gap side for better or worse. At the same time, it seems to have lessened the crowds on the other side of the hill. It changed the lift use dynamic; the quad seems to have longer lines and the old six gets noticeably less use (when it's open).

  31. That’s dope you are getting the kid out so young. I saw you guys from the quad a few weeks back and she was killing it. I feel blessed I got into the sport in 6th grade, but getting into it in early elementary age would have been amazing. Same with Walt and his kids

  32. Yeah...Pulled a muscle in my back shoveling earlier this week, re-aggrivated skiing wed, and it was on fire this morning. That plus the rain and I wasn't feeling it. Fully planning on tomorrow
