  1. Been a while that I've been dealing with a hip injury that has been limiting some of my activities because of instability with lateral movements. Things have improved over the last few months and I'm seeing my PT today to *hopefully* be cleared to get back on the skis. Really looking forward to easing in and to encourage myself to get out I got myself a new touring setup. Pumped to get on the snow again soon and see some of you🤞

  2. Hit me up if you want to take some laps or are heading in the direction of blue. Holy shit homey that poles and gloves in the same season. I got mad gear for Christmas including the holy grail of pants color but also picked up these.

  3. Treated myself to new gloves today. My spring gloves from copper mountain I got about 6-7 years out of for $35.

  4. There's so many beer cans, you'd think they'd displace all the water!

  5. It took someone falling into the pond to actually get them to pump out that eye sore? How many beer cans did the lifties have to push aside to actually get to the person.

  9. Another fun day at Blue. Nice frozen cord everywhere, along with some cookies, depending on what side of the trail you were on. Saw the resident bald eagle couple flying about, and the juvenile.

  10. Hey All, It’s almost another weekend, and Blue mountain the true mountain is open for skiing and riding. Anybody skiing Saturday-Sunday? I’ll be there both days with a longer session Sunday as the kid starts WAC. Looks like a good snowmaking weather window to help resurface the conditions. JADIP

  11. Nearly 50 years in business. You'd think they know not to blow snow onto the sensors by now

  12. I 1000% agree and thought on the lift like jlaw aren't we smarter than this ? But clearly not as I was there. I think normally I'm pretty gracious in my opinions on conditions but even with all of that and taking the blue factor into account I still think they need to do a better job on lifts. It's always the same issues time and time again, like the quad tires that one year. A true og fills them with nitrogen because then it will only loose air from the shitty tires and even half ass is to come out 15mins early and inflate the tires if it's cold but it took them like seasons to figure that out.

  13. I just hope Blue doesn't go the way of Cameltoe...

  14. I was actually surprised last Saturday morning, when they were calling for freezing rain, they had all 3 lifts running at 4:00am to make sure they wouldn't be frozen! Guess they are trying...

  15. Come on now.....you didnt think they would get their shit together while you were gone did you? lol. Its like there is always something they are duct taping back together. They need one of those signs you see on a construction job, "days without an accident" but more like "number of hours with seemless, continuous operation" Baby steps. I forget what day it was but they ran the lifts overnight so they wouldnt have issues. so, kudos for that. 12:52 all lifts turning and loading, however the 2 times i watched the main street cam the lift stopped multiple times. It also looks like from the valley cam they dont have the usual snowfence up aroud the OG 6. like they never really intended to open it today. Remember that little powder day last year when all of PA/NY/NJ descended on Blue and they had one lift working? Its like they have short term memory, sometimes.

  17. i would rather see them making Challenge full width before the glades, but i get it, Challenge is open, but they cant say "100% open" until the glades are. The glades are luge runs more often than not. But, catch them on the right day and its good for some variety.

  20. Glad you are in the mend @toast21602 I start PT for my arthritic knee Monday 😂. Did some uphill at Buttermilk today and grabbed these on the way home. Love my BC Nordic skis, but they stink on groomed stuff and don’t fit in a track. Gonna play around on these tomorrow hopefully

  23. Happened to Nastar Glenn many years ago. Luckily the pond was dry. If we had the climate for it, would be badass if Blue could import some tropical sea creatures for the pond. @saltyant or @SallyCat might have ideas. I’m thinking maybe eel and puffer fish to start a couple weeks later there will be eel tacos at slopeside grill

  24. Rumor has it someone fell off into the OG6 pond the other day and lifties had to wade in to fish them out. Guess that's why they're pumping out the pond...

  27. I knew today would be rough but it sucked way more than even I thought it could. The snow was always going to be sugar over firm but the lift thing plus the nature of the crowd had me throwing in the towel after an hour and half. The old sixer is down as they were pumping water out of the lower house area which made the lines long to start. Also because of where they go that means alot of ass skiers on main/switch who shouldn't be off the learning hill let alone there. The snow on switch I thought was best as it was super lumpy fun but I felt like I was storming the shores on dday trying to find a way through as everyone is eating shit all around me. They are blowing directly into the sensors on the new six and it was stopping alot. Eventually around 1215 it really shit the bed and I couldn't stomach anymore and peaced out. Snow they can't do much about but the lifts are directly within their control and it doesn't take a scientist to figure out when they blow into the lift mechanicals they don't work very well. Let's just say they are legitimately the only hill that can't sort this out then at least have the lifty in the box know the override sequence so we don't always have to wait 20mins for the supervisor to press 4 buttons. Some worthy turns out there but probably my worst day at blue in a long time.

  28. Glades by Barney's doesn't get as much traffic as the one over by Lazy and can be fun when there's freshly blown snow.

  33. That was some fun. They also did that TCS before they had snowmaking on it. We skied natural snow/ bumps for days. It was fun.

  35. It continued to snow at Bogus through the weekend and @Boo Bearand I were able to get back to the mountain Monday. The drive up was way better without bad weather slowing it down. They claimed 2 inch fresh last 24 hrs, 29” for the last week. Little overcast to start with sunshine peaking out throughout the day. Hit every lift and dipped in to the trees for fresh chest shots when I could split off. Didn’t find the terrain that difficult unless bush whacking through some trees. Awesome day and views were great. Other Boise things we hit with our friends and kids while out there: Payette Brewing, Science Center, Zoo, World Center for Birds of Prey, Brown Beard Brewing, Boise State University and 13th St Pub & Grill. Red eye back was delayed and didn’t take off until almost 1 am but still made it to PHL at 930 as expected.

  37. Almost certainly both days, definitely tomorrow because the boys are in Saturday WAC again. I think it will be a weekend off cooking while we get the WAC timing down. Back again on Sunday unless Camel makes some miracle terrain expansion and we decided to go there.

  38. That's a grate idea. Maybe they should ship some snow guns to Camelback as well. Atomic and I can help airlift the snow guns for emergency snowmaking operations on Marjorie's Delight. Also we can all pitch in and transport some water to Camelback's snowmaking retention ponds which may have been depleted due to excessive water park operations. That would be totally rad.

  40. For you to go mildly Salty, it had to be pretty fucked up. Im telling you, the lift issues are because they are built on an indian burial ground. They can put in a new lift that runs just as bad as the old ones. they struggle in the lift department for sure. But they have someone out every morning organizing the snow fencing for the lifts. Thats how like the bizzaro world of blue works. Make sure the lines have organization, so people are organized when the lines start backing up because the lifts stop cooperating. You know the snowfence they put up to keep people from getting on the snow to the lifts except where they put the mats? My guess is someone at shit, either getting on or off, or someone just skied right off and took a ride in the ambulance. Its unlikely the fence is a preventative measure. Thats unlike blue.

  46. Some people aren’t happy unless they’re complaining about something. That’s the best part of the trail when there’s no bumps anywhere. I know what you mean about skiing the soft parts of the bumps. It takes a run or two to re calibrate my brain.
