  1. Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot around 825am and it was partly sunny with a temperature in the upper 30s with moderate winds. In the house were Atomic Jeff, NMSki, Mark, Bethlehem ford crew minus Bethlehem ford guy, Oz, Airhead and some others. First run on Main Street was ok, a little crusty and a little soft..Challenge was solid cord but with every skier turned to straight cookies. Coming soon was decent and I skied that twice as was lazy mile. I returned to challenge later when the rest were on Sidewinder and it was so cookied up and I was telling myself ski on top of the snow not in it and a second later my ski got grabbed and I got twisted around for my first fall in two years. My calf/knee is sore but I don’t think it’s anything serious. When I left at 1030am the temperature was up to about 45 degrees.. Now back at work like a dork, already sold a tombstone over the phone. JADIP i forgot to take a picture so I’ll leave all y’all with this in honor of yesterdays date.

  2. 2/27/25 Batted about the idea of hitting the newest CO ski slope, Echo Mountain, but at 600ft vert, that idea was replaced with going back to Loveland. It’s fast becoming the slope of choice and worth the double-down. Up 2 then lapped a few off 6 as a warmup. Groomers were good but off them was wind-blown and baked, so we decided to go higher. Up the 9 there was a nice cornice in Patriot bowl that had good snow so we lapped that a few times. After lunch we headed back up the 9 and instead dropped into Castle Rock. The snow wasn’t as good as expected. Headed over to Chet’s to end the day. Avalanche bowl, Zoom, Cat’s Meow all held very nice snow and we called it a day. No complaints! Dinner was grilled chicken and stir fry veggies and cheesecake.

  3. Drove up late last night, stayed in Lake George and then to Bolton valley this morning. Rode there from 10 to 2...only hit Wilderness lift this time. Vista wasn't running and I mainly did Timberline side last time. A ton of snow in the trees and soft snow on the rest of the runs. Outlaw woods probably had the best snow of the day

  4. After Bolton, I drove the 15 minutes to Cochrans ski area. Small place with like 350' of vertical but it's a cool non profit place and for 19 bucks, I wanted to check it out. They have a t bar and a rope tow. No lift tickets, just the honor system whether you pay or not. Underprivileged kids pay nothing or whatever they can afford, which is cool. Grooming was actually really good and I had fun. Only complaint was the t bar lifty playing Nickelback repeatedly. Did 6 runs and now at Zero Gravity Brewing in Burlington.

  5. Get plenty of thc........ or is it's tlc ? I'm not sure but I did ride today around noon and the hero had been pushed into piles and it was surprisingly rowdy. I spent alot of time in the air, the super sun was nice though. Whenever it refreezes it could be brutal but for now it's pretty fucking soft. They fancied up the razors for the race and they have all kinds of fancy sponsors now.

  7. Here now. Came expecting a spring night sunset sesh on uncrowded slopes. Arrived to flash backs of elementary school skate night at the roller palace on Roosevelt boulevard. Not sure what I was thinking. Conditions are probably a 3.8. sugar bumps. At least there was the sunset.

  12. Nice report..a few years when I was in college Bolton wasn’t operational and I hiked it a few times with skis, I only skied lift served there once and was night skiing so not as much open. Looks like an incredible amount of snow on the ground there and should stick around awhile.

  16. He was here Monday. He should have come a week sooner. I can't believe he went to the Firebrand.$$ Monday was a mixed bag, definitely not the best. His chair buddy sent him to Flower Point, which was a good choice early in the day. He then ignored them and went to East Rim. That would definitely have warmed him up.

  17. Day 45. No Name was worth repeating, but is tough to lap. There are a ton of ski clubs here that I wish would leave. They seem to predominately consist of the clueless.

  18. Got stuck behind every truck in the valley and ended up a few minutes late. Rode the quad up with someone who said they seeded bumps on coming soon so I had to investigate. They were pretty solid but the rest of the trail was ok. Went down nightmare a few times and it was okay. Over to main st and lapped Barneys as it was softening up nicely. One run on challenge , holy crap! was my first thought looking at the giant cookies but after smacking a few they turned out to be pretty soft. Back to Barneys but enjoyed the lower main gun run the most. Wish I could have stayed longer.

  19. It's pretty rare that the skiway is open on both sides of the road so for them this is a banner year. Someone on the lifts told me whaleback was having trouble which would make sense as they haven't had much open but I haven't followed them since the park days.

  20. Thanks man! I'm probably double dipping tomorrow with indy in the morning and somewhere cheap in the afternoon. Dartmouth looks like the place. I wanted to hit Whaleback but conditions look rough

  21. Hey all, It’s almost the weekend and now spring skiing at least temporarily. Is anybody going to be in the house? I’m planning on tomorrow and Saturday for opening to enjoy the spring skiing…Sunday I might skip as it’s gonna get down into the teens Saturday night and expecting craptastic conditions Sunday so might use as an excuse to go out and party rock Saturday night. 23. Ragged is much bigger, newer and nicer. The lifts are old and slow at the skiway and the lodge is small and old. That said while I had good days at both I preferred the skiway mostly due to the history and it's like a trip back in time. Ragged is also very rolly and I prefer my trails to pour it on and the Don Schuss had a bit more hill. Honestly you could do both in the same day no problem. I had skied every trail at the skiway in like 2 or 3 hrs and Ragged would probably be more like 4 or 5 hrs. The skiway too is like $40 or something, i spent more on merch than the ticket. Ragged has a small main parking lot and while it won't be killington or something I would bet it will be significantly busier than the skiway. I would check the skiways website to see if they are racing. It's mostly used as gates practice for Dartmouth/Ford Sayer and there can be alot of them plus it will close the Don Schuss . Best food nearby in my opinion is Tuk Tuk Thai, they have two locations but if you like Thai that's the best I've eaten in VT, NH or ME.

  31. 2/26/25 It was off to A-Basin today. Day started out crystal clear and colder than previous couple of days. Weather at the mountain was mid double digits, but it didn’t feel like East coast cold. Over the pass there were many fresh tracks off in the surrounding hills and also a lot of slides. The snow was squeaky cold chalk, firmed up with some wind-blown icing. Up the BME, we headed right back down for a warmup and check the snow; fast, firm packed power. Off the groom, the snow was baked Alaska with some lipstick on top. After a couple of laps on the Lenawee, we dropped into the bowl. With mostly South-facing aspects and recent warmer and clear days, the snow was quite grumpy. Made a few laps looking for something good but came up empty. Up and down to the Black Mountain lodge for some lunch where we ran into some others from NJ who spotted a Blue sticker on our helmets. They too are out touring the local mountains. After lunch we decided to check out The Beavers. Made some runs down the outer tree runs looking for somewhere good to lap, but even the trees didn’t help, so we headed over to East Wall. Traversed out to the boot pack to see what it was like out there. More if the same baked snow with some wind-blown in the troughs. Had to watch the light crust on top wanted to grab your ski to take down an unaware skier, which it did to Donny. Also traversed over to check out one of the slide remnants, ugly! Lapped the gully’s a couple of times and called it day. Not the greatest snow conditions, but it was still a fun day regardless. Dinner was salmon, salad, baked potato and cheesecake.

  32. Nice! How's is Donny's friend? He's a good dude. What do y'all keep in your packs, mainly for hydration? Speaker 🤣? I've only used a pack for on piste lift served if the forecast is supposed to change drastically throughout the day or carry a lot of beers lol

  33. 2/24/25 What would a bump trip be without hitting Winter Park? The other three on the trip have never been and I hadn’t been back since I was out with the wife in the 90’s. The place sure has changed a lot! On the road just after 7 to clear skies and warmish temps but still very windy here but they’re calling for overcast and 1-3” at WP. Up and over the pass, we’re immediately met with falling snow. Looks like a good day! We parked in the Mary Jane area lot as we figured we’d end up there at the end of the day. We planned to meet another Blue skier that the others know later in the day, so since the others have never been here, we’d tour WP side before meeting up. Up the Super Gauge and down groomers to the Olympia in falling snow, the snow and trails were excellent. Got the meetup call, so we didn’t get to spend any time on the WP side, so headed back to MJ. The Panorama was running so we headed up to the peak. We were going to take a lap bc of the line, but decided to wait. Good call bc they shut it down shortly after we got on. The wind was howling up top, but down below there was no wind at all. After lunch it was MJ time and he ugh ton queue the sun come out. I wanted to revisit Trestle in particular bc I accidentally drug the wife down it years ago due to a wrong turn. Never heard the end of that. Trestle was wall to wall, too top to bottom bumps. It’s tucked away so the snow was still very good. The rest of the afternoon was spent picking off runs off Derailer, all of which still had good snow, but temps were on the rise and we all had a helluva workout. Dinner was simply frozen pizza.

  35. Camelback lowered their child pass age to 9 to match Blue so no incentive to even think about them next season. With 5 buddy passes there each, peak to peak for Pops and I could make sense if we get the boys up there in March and they love it, but, eh. Though it would be nice if Blue introduced a youth anytime pass like Camelback has.
